Would I Get Into Usc Help

Can I get into USC?

Probably not. It’s kind of like Sheila E’s song, “The Glamorous Life,” where ‘if you have to ask, you can’t afford it lingerie.’More people get rejected than accepted, as USC is a popular school.I received my MBA there. The director of undergraduate admissions is the brother of a girl that I dated in high school (no kidding). By the time my kids are old enough to apply, I doubt that he would be there, but even with this relationship, I can’t guarantee that my kids would be admitted, if they were eligible for enrollment today. For the record, my ex-gf’s brother was not able to help me get admitted to my MBA program, as the program is totally separate from the rest of the university. If you want to go to USC, you need stellar grades, lots of extra-curricular activities and high test scores. Then, you will need an awesome application with the proper letters, endorsements and essays.Keep in mind that the school accepts thousands of people each year into its various programs. Make yourself into the ideal candidate by doing the work now.I wish you luck.Fight On!

HELP!!!! WILL I BE ABLE TO GET INTO USC?!?!?

I have a strong passion for film and really want/need to get into USC film school. My freshman year i did terribly and got a 2.2 gpa. This year I have a 3.9 so far and am getting really involved in different things to boost my chance of acceptance. I have been doing taekwondo for 8 years and am a 2nd degree black belt, and I'm very involved in different film making things. If I maintain a high GPA through my next 3 years (Plus AP classes) and remain involved, will I have a chance of acceptance?

How do I get into USC?

Prepare for USC as you would any other top private university. First, you will want to make sure you can afford it when the time comes- the school is notorious for its high price.

If you can afford USC, you should work on getting good grades. There are two types of GPAs- weighted and unweighted. An unweighted GPA is off a 4.0 scale; you do not receive extra points for Honors or AP classes. Weighted GPAs do receive extra points. For USC try for a weighted GPA of 4.2+ and an unweighted GPA of 3.6-3.7+. You do not want any D's or F's, and C's are a very, very bad thing.

For extra curriculars, start volunteering early. Be active in your community and show commitment- pick a few activities you enjoy and work at them. If you are not in girl scouts or boy scouts, I would recommend joining now.

For classes, pick classes you enjoy that are related to the major you would like to try. For example, a journalism major might take a course load with Honors English classes, Honors social studies classes, or classes such as psychology or journalism.

In the 9th grade, register for the PSAT and start practicing. USC receives the most applications from Merit Finalists out of all US schools, so scoring well on your PSAT (the Merit qualifying test) will look very good.

Good luck!

Can I get into USC with a low GPA?

With USC, you never know exactly what they want. Some of the people they take are super smart and others are not. The most important thing to do is stand out. Do something that would make you different and stand out from the thousands of applicants they get. Your SAT score sounds great and if colleges would usually rather see a rigorous course load than straight A's in easy classes. It's great that you're in a community service group to get those oh-so important service hours. Try to join a few more clubs that you actually like and will be involved in. It is better to have 5 clubs that you really are involved in and like than to have 10 clubs that you don't even participate in. It sounds like you're on track though so just keep working hard! Good Luck!

Can I get into USC with a low gpa?

My GPA is very embarrassing to talk about but i have a 1.27 gpa non weighted on my transcripts but from this year in my junior year i made a 2.0 i know i could have done better but i went through alot of trouble so it was my best. but if i make up classes that i didnt too well in with an a or b to get my gpa around a 3.0 or higher could that increase my chances of getting in? outside of school i do piano, guitar jiu jitsu, muay thai and community service. im going to join a club to work with asb and ima try to do more things if that's not enough to make my application or my trnscripts more competitive. will that help me? please respond i am in desperate need! what should i do? i really wanna major in journalism or creative writing. please share your resposes.

Who decides if you get into USC?

Probably not.  My instinct from 6months of reading replies form interviewers for MIKT, Stanford, Harvard, etc. is that regional interviewers add comments to a file, but the folks in the main office make the final decisions.  Now let me see whether I can confirm that:  Yup.  This answer says that counselors answer your questions and help you.  they couldn't do that and decide; it would be a conflict of interests: USC Admission Counselors And this page implies that the central admissions staff makes the final decisions.Undergraduate Admission Blog

My aunt's husband got into USC. Will that help me get into USC?

Nope. Legacy days are over, just like “Daddy can afford USC" days are over. Now GPA's, test scores, extracurricular activities, and recommendations are comparable to Berkeley and UCLA.

Is it harder to get into USC or UCLA?

I'm an out-of-state resident because we moved, but my dad went to USC and my mom went to UCLA. If I have good grades and a good ACT score, which will be harder to get into?
