Why do most people say the media is "liberal"?
The only people who say that are conservatives. The truth is that there is the liberal media, conservative media, and mainstream media. It does not make sense to generalize the "media" as liberal.
Why do people base their facts about muslims 4m the media?
The problem is when people abuse a religion for their own purpose either through extreme interpretations of the Koran or making up stories about another religion. This is NOT limited to against Muslims ... it is fair to say the Muslim press is every bit as biased against the Jews as the western press is against the Muslims. I can't get my head around the whole religious fighting thing as has been said "going to war over religion is like going to war over who has the best imaginary friend". If someone chooses to believe in something that is up to them and I wish them well. They have to accept though that the views are personal and they should not demand other folks comply with their views or a evil/stupid if they don't. Peace out ...
Is it fair of the media to portray Steve Irwin as reckless and irresponsible?
Why not? He was a public figure of some fame. He did outrageous things, not the least of which was dangle his child in front of a crocodile. I'd say the was pretty reckless and irresponsible, wouldn't you?
Explain why some religious believers might think the media has advantages and disadvantages?
The media has both advantages and disadvantages for any belief, whether political, religious, or other. There is a saying that "all publicity is good publicity" - but that is not always true, of course. The media is a way of making known one's faith to a large number of people in a short time. The media can sometimes, however, give a distorted, disproportionate, picture of a certain religion or thought system. For instance, from a Christian standpoint, I can think of one year when there were three or four television preachers (all of them being marginal to Evangelical Christianity, but the media never said that) involved in scandals: financial or sexual. Well, these stories made good news, of course, and so we heard them over and over and over and over again, until someone might think the definition of a Christian preacher was scandal! I believe it was Time magazine that did a story on Billy Graham, showing him to be beyond reproach. However even then he was presented almost as though he were an exception to the rule. So really, the media was not very helpful in that situtation. In general, however, Christianity, and, I believe most religions. would find the media to be very helpful in propagating their beliefs.
Why is the media so Liberal?
Every time I watch TV they are constantly putting down the Republican party. If Palin's daughter is pregnant, that doesn't make Palin a bad mother!! The Republican party is having their convention this week and they are showing all these images of people drinking and dancing. The Democrats did the exact same thing, but did the media cover it? The New York Times portrays Hillary Clinton as this saint and says Palin is stepping in and taking her glory. The paper was putting down Bush in every article. Yes, he wasn't the best President, but he IS President. A lot of crap happened during Clinton's time in office, but you never hear anything but how great he was. I am so annoyed by the media. Why can't they just be fair and not one-sided??
Muslim, with the influeance of the media, what or how can we show the people...?
Ya sister ... If you know that these people will believe in anything, then why are you letting them influence you? Sis this is just another test from Allah (swt) and we as Muslims have to go through this and have to be strong and show people the true meaning of Islam by being a good example and getting the word out through media if we can and I see a lot of that on famous media sights such as You-tube. Also, imagine what the Prophet went through while spreading the words of Allah (swt).. People did so many things to him, they through garbage on him (stagfir Allah)... and still his words were sweet to them and his heart never filled with doubt or vengeance. Be proud to be a Muslima sister and know that this life wont last forever, you may have to suffer a little now.. But what's better? Suffering for eternity in Hell.. or for a little while at the hands of non-believers ( which is also a sign of Qayamah and is destined to happen).. Be strong sister, Allah hu Alam what he has decreed for us. May Allah ill your heart with acceptance and with strength and May he make you an example for other Muslims and inshaAllah you will be remembered in my prayers sister. (ameen) ( and sis what the non-believers want is to break us down.. we can't let them do this) SISTER PLEASE DO EMAIL ME.... WE CAN TALK ALL YOU WANT..
Is Trump actually as silly as the media is claiming?
I find it disturbing that Trump and his campaign and his supporters go on and on about how unfair the media is to him, when he uses and manipulates the media all the time. He says things that get repeated, knowing they’ll be repeated. He throws out statements that can’t be verified…and quite often, “the media” doesn’t call him on it. His people know this. He knows this.His supporters don’t seem to, and he and his people capitalize on this. Trump knows his supporters are more likely than not to dismiss legimate media sources and go with the ones who support his narrative. They won’t do the research themselves. They willingly accept a double-standard when it comes to Trump. When “the media” says it, it must be suspect. When Trump says it, it must be true.For example, that thing he said about sources: “Remember, don't believe "sources said" by the VERY dishonest media. If they don't name the sources, the sources don't exist. “This is a very clever way to manipulate his supporters into believing the the narrative that the system is rigged against him…yet Trump has never hesitated from using unnamed “sources” when making announcements.“An 'extremely credible source' has called my office & told me that @BarackObama applied to Occidental as a foreign student--think about it!” Source never named.“An 'extremely credible source' has called my office and told me that @BarackObama's birth certificate is a fraud.” Source never named.“An 'extremely credible source' has called my office and told me that @BarackObama bought his house with the help of Tony Rezko.” Source never named.“A 'confidential source' has called my office and told me that@BarackObama has added over $6T to the new national debt & ruined US credit.” Source never named.“Many people are saying that the Iranians killed the scientist who helped the U.S. because of Hillary Clinton's hacked emails.” Which people?“Sources inside @AGSchneiderman’s office are saying that they are very concerned with the allegations against their lightweight boss.” Sources never named.Saying “the VERY dishonest media” is against him is ridiculous. He uses and manipulates the media masterfully, and accepts all the positive things that are said, but then turns around and tells his supporters not to believe anything negative, because that’s all made up, of course.There is a double-standard at work here that is absolutely gobsmacking. But his supporters will never, ever admit it.So he’s not silly, so much as he is dangerous.
