Would It Help To Try To Train For Oc Spray If So What Should I Use

Before Getting Sprayed with OC spray.?

The active ingredient in OC spray is capsaicin, and unfortunately, isn't soluble in water, so a water based solution won't help. I don't know of anything that will help you before hand, but immediately after you've been sprayed, you should blink a lot. This will encourage your eyes to produce tears and will help flush the OC from your eyes. If you can, soak a soft washcloth in cold milk, and put it on your face. It won't neutralize the capsaicin, nothing will, but it'll provide a lot of relief. If you can't do this, then a mild shampoo, like baby shampoo, and cool water on a soft cloth will suffice. Remember not to rub, and never use hot or warm water. My fiance used these methods while in the USMC. Good luck with it.

How can i prepare for oc spray?

johnson and johnson baby shampoo... put in fridge and leave there till you get sprayed rinsed off by water at event. when you get released pull that sucker out and apply a thick coat to your face. let it dry and apply again. im talking about heavy portions. then after that dries, get in the shower with tighty whites on and lean over at the waste with room temperature water. Scrub your face over and over, till it stops buring, if it still burns apply more baby shampoo in shower and scrub off as needed. i have been sprayed many times and this has always worked for myself and my fellow marines. just remember it hurts no matter what but the faster its off the better!

Police pepper spray immunity training?

I want to know if there is a way i can feel very little pain or none at all when taking the police pepper spray test, as in, when they spray me, it wont have alot of affect. for example, taking lots of pain killers before the test? (if so, how many), or maybe eating lots of hot/spicy food my whole life so i can get use to it, or putting hot sauce in your eyes?
i know this sounds dumb, but people feel alooot of pain when being sprayed, and i already know why they want us to feel the pepper spray, so you respect the weapon and know what pain it causes before you use it, and btw im planning on taking the test in about 4 years.
im going to join the toronto police

What if i put vaseline on my face before getting oc sprayed?

Nothing helps, dude. Nothing. Not baby shampoo. Not Dawn soap. Not water. And certainly not greasy **** on your face. Time is the only solution I am aware of and I've been sprayed 6 times. 15 or 20 minutes of pain and you're good. Till you go home and shower. Then it starts all over again.

Besides, instructor would notice. The purpose of getting sprayed is to teach you that you can fight through it. You must be able to defend yourself and your weapon. Because, sure as ****, when somebody pops gas, if you're in the same friggin zip code, you're gonna get some too. Best bet, is to cowboy up, embrase the suck and let it happen.

To answer your question directly, my guess is it would make it harder to remove the capsaicinoids from your skin and would make decon a longer process. How hard is Vaseline to get off your skin?

Most thorough decon was my 1st exposure. We all went to a nearby river and just let the water run over us. That volume was sufficient to wash it away.

Good luck!

I have to get pepper sprayed for police academy training. Any way to lessen its effects?

First, yes coma Police Officers get sprayed so the individual officer knows how it will affect them because getting exposed to it when it is sprayed on somone is inevitable.

raceena, if you try and avoid how it feels and affects you now what are you going to do when down the road as a Police Officer you get blasted accidentally or by someone without any protection? More likely than not, you're going to panic, and that will make you useless to any of your partners or back up.

Yes, it's going to hurt like hell and burn. Water and air will lessen the effects within 45 minutes to an hour. But the reason why you go through it is so you know how your body will react to it. And you'll know what to expect should it happen.

Getting pepper/oc sprayed?

Contacts make it worse. First thing always advised to do after getting spayed is to remove contacts.
With contacts on and left on there is actual danger of injury to the cornea.

You are 13, you have no idea how to train to be the police. Stop now or you wil get into the type of trouble that will keep you from ever becoming the police in the future.

Makeup makes not difference. The spray effects the mucous membranes, not the skin that much.
