Would Posting On Wattpad

Should I post up my book on Wattpad?

So I've been writing a book lately and I'm pretty proud of myself for it.
It's not a fan fiction or anything, just a story that I wrote. I plan on making it pretty long, and hopefully getting it published someday.
When I am done with the book I do want to send it to some publishers etc, and I was wondering if posting it up on wattpad or any other fanfic website could help? Since most stories there are fan fictions, would my story be marked as spam, etc?
Also if you have any tips on the whole "getting it published" process, please put it down below!
Thanks so much

Is it worth posting fanfiction to wattpad?

This overlaps with a lot of other answers, but here goes:Wattpad tends to have a more youthful audience - romances and celebrity fanfics is about right. It’s one of the less complex sites, in terms of both setup and tagging, making it easy to post and kind of hard to search. I’m personally not really a fan.Fanfiction.net (FFN) has, as Robin mentioned, a short-term wait period before you can post fic. It should only be a couple of days! The tagging system is better than Wattpad, I believe, making it easier to find & read fic.Archive Of Our Own (AO3) is where I prefer to read/post. It’s created & maintained by fandom content creators and won’t ban/delete large swathes of fic with insufficient warning (which is why a lot of people moved from FFN to AO3). Unfortunately, the site is still in beta, and getting an account requires either an invite by a current member (invites are currently frozen) or a long time on the waitlist. Both FFN & AO3 have a lot of Harry Potter fanfiction, with a good chunk being non-romantic! You’d find an audience on either site, but if you’re looking to post as soon as possible for the widest audience, FFN is your best bet :)

When is the best time to post stories in wattpad?

Instead of having to wait for a certain time to post, why don't you post the chapter, then advertise it in the Share Your Story forum? Don't be like those annoying people who say, "Read, comment and vote on my story and I'll do the same for yours", because they don't actually read your story most of the time.

Be nice, and ask for constructive criticism. That way, you'll know that they actually read your story, and you also get some helpful feedback. Double bonus!

Can I post random articles on wattpad?

Yes you can write articles on random topics on #Wattpad. But you have to be carefully. Wattpad is designed for stories but some people writes articles also. The only thing you have to take care is you should avoid writing all articles under a single title. This will confuse readers and the wattpad searching. What you should do...Try to categories your articles and give appropriate title. Used different title / stories for new article. You have to make sure that the content in articles are awesome and useful for writers / readers. Only then it will gain popularity. Give appropriate tags to your articles. Make good cover pic for all your articles Hope this helps. Thanks for A2A

Will posting my book on WattPad help or damage my chances of getting published?

It depends upon the quality of what you post. If you follow professional standards, it can be favorable. If your posts are filled with bad grammar, mistakes and poor spelling. it will cause a negative reaction in anyone evaluating your work. Make sure you do not have anything on the web that is not suitable for professional publication. If necessary, take things down and rewrite them.

On Wattpad, how much should I write before publishing?

First off, what are you writing? Are you writing a bunch of stories, or are you posting chapters from a book on Wattpad? Are you talking about publishing independently, or are you talking about publishing ON Wattpad? If you’re talking about publishing ON Wattpad - you can publish as much or as little as you want, BUT always make sure whatever you publish is clean, professional writing, because you never get a second chance to make a first impression. You lose readers with every eyeroll, and no one can afford that.As far as books are concerned, you should NEVER publish ANYTHING without going through the proper protocol - finding beta readers, an editor, coming up with professional cover art, having it proofread, etc. So it’s not about HOW much you write, but about how ready the project is. (This link will take you through it step-by-step and show you how to find the items I list above - I’ve Written a Book, How Do I Publish It?)Of course, writing more *should* make you a better writer, but without feedback, you can write until you’re blue in the face and not see any improvement. Beta readers - and hopefully Wattpad readers - should give you the feedback you need as to where you are going wrong, and what you are doing right. If you’re not sure, join a critique group Writing Critique Groups – Join One.Wattpad can get you great exposure, but it isn’t the be-all end-all. Growth as a writer has to happen. Your project has to be ready, and you have to be a good enough writer to know when that is, and accept when it isn’t.

How do you post pictures on a comment on Wattpad?

First the image needs to eb on the internet. You can use any image sharing website to do that. Do yourself a favour and don't use photobucket, it has a tendancy to throw around 20-30 tracking cookies on every computer that visits it.

Then, use this code, but replace the curved ( brackets with sharp < brackets

Wattpad vs FanFiction?

Hey everyone!

I've been writing this FanFiction, and I'm feeling that it's about time I think about posting it. I've read stories on both the FanFiction website and Wattpad. I've been trying to decide which would be better to start posting on. Is it alright to post the same story on both, considering that I'm the author and everything?

Please don't mock this and give me bad answers, I've actually been wondering this for awhile and am looking for a straight answer.

Thank you so much!
