Would Putting On Bait On Your Blue Fox Vibrax Lure Help Catch More Fish

Best lure or bait to catch trout?

Are you fishing for hatchery stockers in a concrete pay-to-fish pool or wild ones in a creek or stream?

In the stocker situation, it doesn't matter what bait or artificial lure you toss... they'll nail it. Y'know why? They're starved. I've personally done best with Acme Kastmasters; chrome when it's bright out and gold when it's overcast. As far as natural baits go, a live nightcrawler hooked through the nose with a colored marshmallow above it works great, too. The 'mallow/'crawler combo even seems to out fish Berkley PowerBait.

In the creek or stream setting where you're fishing for wild trout, nothing and I mean NOTHING, will out fish a fly-lined earthworm or nightcrawler drifting downstream on a slack line.

Would putting on bait on your blue fox vibrax lure help catch more fish?

It has plenty of action and vibration without tipping it with bait as you might do with a jig or spoon. If you are trolling with a larger size you might put a leech or minnow on one shank, but that's all I would use. Anything longer will just get short striked. And repeated casting will just throw throw the bait off in mid air.

Putting bait on lures?

Hi, haha, yep, no bait on the trebble hooks which is connected to the artificial fish , the predators think the plastic or wooden etc lure, plug, spinner etc is a real fish, & when you are winding in the lure through the water & giving the rod little jerks, winding slow then fast, the predator ( Pike,Perch,Zander,Bass, etc etc ) thinks it is a real fish in distress & injured.
I have known of people to put bait on but it is not right, It interferes on how the lure works through the water, heres an example.

If you had bait on the trebble hooks, it couldn't swim like this! : )

Why can't i catch fish with fake bait?

When the going gets tough I have a jar of pork rind frogs or strips that I have dumped out the liquid and replaced with a scent. I like shad the best. Seems to work for me when nothing else does. I use a pair of pliers to hook the rind on the hook of a spinner as it will help to keep from sticking yourself. Rind is really tough and hard to get on a hook. Good luck

Can you use a buzz bait lure to fish for trout? i was told that its a good lure for many differant fish.?

Yea, I don't really know the answer to your question, but I wanted to tell you that your avatar's hat is awesome. I'm really sorry for not answering your question, but I don't know anything about fishing, I hope someone gives you a good answer, lol.

What are the best freshwater fishing lures?

For bass I think the Gary Yamamoto Senko is the single best lure. Fish it hooked through the side (wacky rig) or with a bent shaft worm hook through the nose (Texas rig style). Of course as good as the Senko is, it isn’t always going to be the best option. As far as other soft plastics, I’ve had some very good luck with bass with these: Zoom Trick Worm, Zoom Speed Worm, Rage Tail Thumper, Zoom Super Fluke, Rage Tail Space Monkey, Zoom Brush Hog, Gary Yamamoto Kreature, Gary Yamamoto Kut Tail and Rage Tail Frog. For topwater: Jitterbug, Smithwick Devil Horse, Rapala Skitterpop, Heddon Torpedo, Zara Spook, traditional floating Rapala, Rebel Frog-R, Hula Popper, Rebel Pop-R, Strike King KVD square bill. For diving crankbaits: Rapala Shad Rap, Bomber, Rat-L-TrapSpoons: DarDelve, Krocodile, Kastmaster, HopkinsAlso spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and jigs can be highly effective for bass.Pike, pickerel, perch, walleye and in some cases channel catfish will also hit many of the above lures with gusto. For trout: Flyfishing is the most consistently effective way to catch trout, but that’s a whole ‘nother article (and a long one). So I’ll stick with spinning gear.Spinners (in 0 or 1 size). Mepps, Blue Fox Vibrax, Panther Martin and Rooster Tail are good options.Spoons (go with smallest sizes): Phoebe, Kastmaster, Little Cleo, Johnson.Crankbaits: Look for the smallest sizes 1 1/4 inch and smaller. Original floating Rapala, Rapala Countdown, Rapala Shad Rap, Yo-Zuri Snap Bean. For panfish (crappie, bluegill, rock bass, etc.).See spinners, spoons, topwater and crankbaits above, but go with smaller sizes similar to trout.

What's the best bait to use for bass fishing?

I think it all depends on what type of bass you're after, and what you want to use it for.Say you want a nice P-bass and you're after a good thumping soul or funk tone. I guess my choice would be a nice set of LaBella flats like Jamerson used to useThese suckers will get you a rock-solid P-bass in just an hour or two.  If you get something rubbish like a Gibson EB-3 you can always chuck it back in, although it will float around on the surface and clog up the area.  The Mudbucker pickups will silt up your zone as well.So just bait up your hook like soand you're good to go.  It might take a little time, so have some Tower of Power, maybe Maceo Parker or just some good old JB going in the background and that'll attract a good fat one.Whoa that's a beaut!  They must be spawning offshore!Of course you're not always going to be lucky.  If you pick the wrong spot you could end up with more throwaway trash - it's not a tire or an old rubber boot but might as well be.This dude picked a wrong spot.  Look, he's snagged some sort of spikey 1980's hair-metal kiddie bass.  You don't want those; throw it back in!Of course rivers yield some lovely specimens too!  My Uncle Jim got him this doozy of a Jazz last summer!  He put a set of Swing Bass on it and he's been gigging with it ever since!  I personally think it's a Mexican one that swam across the border but it sounds OK to me!Sometimes you just get lucky.  Here's my mate Chester who went out a month ago with no proper bait at all - he hung a CD of Victor Wooten playing with Bela Fleck on a bit of fishing line and nabbed this beaut of a boutique fretless!  Dried it out, put some black tapewounds on it and it's the pride of his collection now!So it just goes to show - sometimes it's not just about the bait.  Sometimes it's about attitude.  Sometimes it's about the funkBut usually it's all about the bass.Wait a minute... is this topic... is it...?D'oh!

A rookie Trout Fishing question - night crawlers?

I've caught plenty of trout on a good old redworm. They're similar to nightcrawlers but are smaller in size and have a dark red tint to them.

For somebody just getting started, reworms, maggots, mealworms and salmon eggs will probably be the best bait you can use. If you know anyone else that fishes, have them teach you how to use a rooster tail or a minnow rig or something like that. Still baits work okay sometimes, but you'll have a better chance catching something with a moving lure. If you don't have anybody to teach you, just buy a couple little rooster tails at the sporting goods store and start throwing them out there, you'll catch on eventually.

As for where to cast in a stream - I'll tell you what I tell everyone else when I take them fishing. Trout are wherever they feel like being. I've caught trout in moving and still water, shallow and deep water, fast and slow water. That's why it's important to cast in everywhere and not just concentrate on the deep holes.

Good luck! You've just begun a very exciting and rewarding hobby!
