Would Small Rides Seem Less Scary If I Went On Big Rides First

Is it scary to ride a horse?

Not if it's a good horse. Yes they can sense fear so relax. Spend some time petting the horse before getting on if you can. I worked as a trail guide and had tons of scared new riders come out, after about 5-10 minutes most of them realized it wasn't scary at all and enjoyed it. (A lot of 'sweet' boyfriends learned to ask their future valentines date if they were scared of horses before setting up a surprise date.)
If you're on a 'naughty' horse it could be scary but for me riding is life. Not all horses are big and it really doesn't seem that high when you're in the saddle. The bigger the horse generally the calmer. Falling at a walk doesn't really hurt at all either so there's really nothing to worry about.
If they actually did start to act up or go to fast just pull back on their reins towards your belly button in short tugs- not yanking on the mouth, keep your heels down and if they wont stop when you ask- worst case scenario just pull one rein to your knee and make them turn in a circle.
If you're going to a trail riding place or camp, chances are your horse won't care about your fear or do anything more than a casual walk. Just dont scream. Good luck, and it really is very fun.

How do you ride an upside down roller coaster for the first time?

This May I rode Disney’s Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. It was my first ride with an inversion. And let me tell you, I was scared (to the point of being teary-eyed).But I got on the coaster, put my head back at the launch, and rode it. And it was AWESOME!! If you’re scared do one you sit down on with feet on the floor. The loops weren’t bad at all, just drink enough water (if you’re prone to grayouts like me) and the g forces are survivable. The worst inversion was the corkscrew since I felt completely disorented but it cleared within minutes.I know how scary they seem but you WILL have fun on the coaster after you conquer your fear and simply sit down to get going.(our song was Dude Looks Like a Lady)

How does it feel to ride on an airplane? I mean doesn't it feel scary? Isn't it really loud too?

I tried to pretend that it was no big deal, like if I had walked into airports all my life. I had reached 1.5 hour before the scheduled time. Once the check in was complete I waited for the security check trying to calm myself down and reminding myself that this one is not going be the one in thousand that crash. I hadn't realized that I had wasted more time than I had intended to. So i finally went through the security check and the next thing I hear is my name being announced on the speaker as the last call. I am never the late kind, but there I was. I ran towards the door and then through the passage. My first reaction on stepping inside the airplane "okh..its kinda smaller than I had imagined".After I had settled down, I found myself counting minutes. It started moving (and yes you are right ) with a roar. The moving part was fine though but then the fast-moving part started. Before you can even realize you get this sinking feeling in your stomach as the plane takes off. I wanted it to go higher and higher. It does feel like you are flying. By this time, the roar becomes like a normal sound to your ears. The sinking feeling gets replaces by overwhelming feeling because you can't help but look out of the window. Everything turning small, the view of your crowded city from a distance, the greener areas appearing like little gardens. The houses and vehicles like tiny toys. If  you are lucky like me, you get your first flight in the early morning hours and you get to see the sky turning shades from orange to yellow and a hint of blue and pink all at the same time. But after a while it all turns into an endless blue/white ground, this is the part where you will get bored and probably doze off or would look back into the book that you had planned on reading.

I'm so scared of roller coasters... What does it feel like?

I used to work at a theme park and I ride them ever day I go to work. What it feels like to be on a roller coaster depends on the person. The first drop is the only thing that scares most people after they pass that the rest of the ride is nothing but excitement and fun. on giant drops you should scream. Screaming actually help you breath while your going down. basically when going down a drop your body is almost floating, and so is the stuff inside you "water, stomach acid, food etc." this is my guess but the air in your lungs is effected as well. it rises up your lungs almost like it's hard to breath. so you scream to let the air out and not have that feeling of not breathing. on drops that turn or twist "like batman the ride and others" you don't feel it as much as a straight drop with not turns. Loops should be the least of your problems, when going through one the gravity actually keeps you in your seat. the big loops might make you feel weightless at the top though. trust me, go on a roller coaster that's the tallest and highest in the park or if your not up to it just go on a ride that's maybe the second tallest and has plenty of loops. the best part of roller coasters is the wind in your face. the weightlessness you feel on top of a hill (airtime) also if your still scared of maintanence and stuff like trains getting stuck on loops don't worry the park would'nt want that to happen so they take extra precaution into testing out the rides even before the park opens. If some stuff do happen that would be bad for the park so they'll try everything to prevent that... All I can say is breath in deep and scream your lungs out and have fun...oh and never close your eyes...you'll be more proned to motion sickness.

Help me get over my fear for water rides please?

I know how you feel. Some rides can be a little freaky. But, at one point or another, you just have to face your fear. So, I have two suggestions for you...

1.) First things first. Everyone has stuff that they don't like. You could always try the ride again and this time, you know what to expect. You would be a little more prepared for the ride that you are about to experience and it may not be as bad the second time around.

2.) You could always just not ride that one ride. Don't let one water ride stop you from riding others. They all aren't the same.

Good luck and hope you splash around at the water park this summer on some fun water rides.

What does it feel like to ride a motorcycle?

Everyone has told you how it feels like. Now let me tell you a different perspective that might brake (pun-intended) your mind:Riding a motorcycle means entering the avatar state. As your motorcycle and your whole face, body, arms and legs pierce through the AIR, riding on wheels feels never as fast.Narrow alleys? Steep hill roads? Even to the island on the other side? You can always rely on your motorcycle to take you anywhere on EARTH.Massive traffic? Unlike those clumsy four-wheeled beasts, your trusty two wheels have a chance to cut through and slip by, just like WATER on a river of rocks……And when you kick the tires and light the FIRE, you can feel the thunderous roar of the engine on your whole body. It feels glorious.Even the military does it all the time..Of course, entering the avatar state has its risk:As you are more and more addicted to the power, you may become irresponsible and misuse its power to cause problems to others (read: pedestarians). As you feel more control over that power, you may grow arrogant. It puts a danger to yourself and the others. And of course, unable to control the avatar state means you may risk your limb, or even worse your life..Hopefully this will give most of you the idea how it feels when you accelerate the pedal.Ride safely folks..p.s. My motorcycling experiences are limited to the areas of Jabodetabek and Tanjungpinang - Batam , which as you can see is located in Indonesia. I believe other countries might not experience the same thing as the roads here, where 85 million motorcycles goes through the road everyday. Not to mention of the road condition which is probably not as good as the one in the west.

How scary is Big Thunder Mountain at Walt Disney World?

The answer is subjective, depending on your motion sickness tolerance and your personal feelings on roller coasters. If you are a frequent flyer at the various Six Flags theme parks and you can ride some kind of magnetic-launch inverted corkscrew looping steel roller coaster over and over again -- after eating a corn dog lunch, no less! -- then Big Thunder will not satisfy you, you'd consider it a tame and cute "children's" coaster. If on the other hand you are nervous about the Dumbo ride and get vertigo while riding around on Peter Pan's Flight, then you may find Big Thunder to be well beyond your capacity for excitement. I'm guessing just by your question that you are NOT in category #1 (thrill seeker), but that doesn't necessarily put you into the second extreme (WEDway Peoplemover affionado). Big Thunder has a couple of nice bumps (a few small belly rises), a few nice curves, and some fun scenery.  It can in all honesty jar you a little bit from side-to-side.    If you are very nervous about trying a coaster, do Space Mountain first.  Even though people think it's a fast ride [Imagineering spoiler alert], it's actually fairly slow moving for a roller coaster, maybe less than 30 mph at top speed??   They use trackside fans blowing air onto you to make it seem faster.   You're in the dark so you don't realize, but I've seen the track with the "house lights" turned on and Space Mountain is little more than a big "mouse coaster."     [Not Mickey Mouse... a simple, classic type of coaster]. If Space Mountain was good for you, then you'll like Big Thunder even more, says me and my two cents.  :) Note that neither Space nor Thunder mountains have any severely steep drops, loops, or excessive speeds.    The Rock n Roller Coaster over at Disney Studios will give you that.

How can I get over my fear of roller coasters?

The reality is that best way to get over your fear of coasters is to ride them. As you can see by the other answers this is the general trend for fighting a coaster fear, however, that doesn't mean there aren't a few tips that can help you out...

-The Moto Coaster is probably a great way to start. You won't get a ton of that airtime feeling you're afraid of but its still a pretty exhilarating ride. To get over your fear, you need to not let it build up. The launch of the coaster is designed to make this fear build up. To avoid it, cover your ears and close your eyes when you roll out on the track. When the coaster stops, bring your hands down so you can hold on, but keep your eyes closed and think of stuff that makes you happy. Basically the less you see and hear from the ride, the less scared you will be. When the ride starts, open your eyes and enjoy. At this point your fear is done, and its only going to keep going away.
-If you end up on a coaster with a chain lift hill, cover your ears and close your eyes the whole way up. Nothing scares people more than lift hills, particularly the view and the clank of the anti-rollback dogs on the vehicles (just another thing to keep you incredibly safe on the ride). Just keep your eyes closed and your ears plugged until the drop starts, and don't listen to anyone trying to prank you, you'll know when it starts. Again, once that happens your fear wont get worse, only better. In short, if you can avoid the anticipation, its very easy.
-One way to think about it is how much you will regret not riding a coaster if you don't. What's the worst that could happen if you do ride one? Nothing. People rarely get sick on coasters, and never get hurt. You're actually safer riding a coaster than riding a car on the way to the park. Worst that can happen is you don't like it and its over in a minute. But if you don't ride one, your just going to constantly think about that "what if" situation, which wont be fun.
-Use your brother or boyfriend for support. It honestly sounds stupid and childish, but holding their hand before the launch or on the way up will help. Its just a human element to make the powerful mechanics of the coaster seem less menacing.

Most of all remember, you won't get sick, you absolutely will not get hurt, and you will most likely have a ton of fun. Worst comes to worst just close it all out and count to 60, I'll be over.

Best of luck and enjoy!
