Would The Cops Take My Side Or His

What recourse do I have if a cop sticks a tazer in my side because I pulled over 4 miles after he hit his lights? I was on a deserted desert road and wanted to get to where there were people before pulling over.

You led him on a chase for 4 miles before pulling over and only got a taser pointed at you? Feel lucky as he could have charged you with a felony in many locations. When they put their lights on, it’s not option to drive to where there are people, and I’m sorry you don’t trust the police. If you are really that freaked out, call 911 and follow their instructions. They can contact the policeman if needed to make these arrangements, but just driving on is going to put you on the naughty list. Also, kiss any chance of getting a warning out the window. The only option you have on pulling over is finding a safe spot for the officer to do so. And then, slow down, put on your blinkers and make sure he knows you’re complying. If you are so paranoid about the police, get a dashcam and record everything. The place to fight the police is not on the side of the road during a stop, or other events, it is in the courtroom afterward. Record it, comply with their lawful requests, and take it up after the fact. If they grossly wrong you, they will have their day. The video will make sure of that.

Can a cop pull you over while you are parked?

I assume you use “pull over” in a sense of come check on youI don’t know if this counts - but on a couple occasions when I was trying to nap somewhere in some town off a highway (driving at night, got tired, got off the highway and parked somewhere where it looked quiet sort of a deal) a policeman would knock on my window, ask me what I was doing (don’t remember if they checked my license; they might have) and asked me to drive away while also telling me it was unsafe to be parked like that. Did not give me tickets or anything.Another time - while in grad school- me and my friend were in a car chatting about the assignment we had and police not just came, they had like a second car and they were shining a light at us and checked our documents and all and kept asking my friend if he knew my name. I think they thought we were doing something we shouldn’t (which we didn’t) so in the end they again asked us to drive off and not sit wherever we were, but did not give us any tickets or anything.

Can you get pulled over for not having a side mirror?

I would say that depends on what side of the car the mirror is missing on. If you have no mirror on the driver's side, this is likely to catch attention from police. If the missing mirror is on the passenger side, it is much more likely to be ignored, unless you happen to run into a stickler cop. Many older vehicles don't have a mirror on the passenger side. Just to be safe, you can usually find used mirrors fairly cheap if you call around to wrecking yards, especially ones that specialize in your make of vehicle. You will save alot of $$$ if you get a mirror from a wrecking yard instead of the car dealership.

If you get a flat tire do cops normally pull over to assist you?

Only if they have absolutly nothing elso to do. I hope you would help a stranded motorist in need of help.
