Would There Be Fewer Civil Wars And Acts Of Terrorism But For Islam

Why did Reagan give guns and money to the Islamic jihadi terrorists in Afghanistan?

Reagan did not think those actions through. He went with his adviser's suggestions - a band of neo-Cons with limited geo-political or military experience who certainly did not have a clue regarding attitudes held by tribes and clans that have ruled Afghanistan for centuries. They assumed that the jihadists and others would be so grateful for American funds and weapons that they'd collectively bow down and kiss our feet. Americans typically look for an immediate solution, even to the most complex and long-lasting issues, and can't deal with the necessity for long-term planning. If anything leads to America's downfall in the near term, it will be this: we're as gullible as kindergartners in virtually every situation we encounter. Whilst I was in Germany, I heard on several occasions about how glad Germans are for Daddy Moneybags and how gullible he (Uncle Sam) is. I was assured that the rest of Europe feels the same...

Why is terrorism so hard to fight?

I think its mainly due to three reasons.

The first is because it is rooted in religion. This can cause people to act in ways that are very illogical or counter-intuitive (e.g. willingness to blow yourself up). Looking back at history, religious clashes have often been the most difficult to resolve and end because people feel so strongly about their beliefs. Because terrorists are under the belief that they are doing god's will, they will go to extremes beyond what is usually seen to accomplish their mission.

Another reason is the difference in cultures. While many of the local population is not activly involved in terrorist activities, they are much less likely to aid those fighting terrorism because those fighting terrorism are still seen as outsiders, where the terrorists come from the same religion, country, etc.

Lastly, it is because it is a non-conventional war. Almost guerrilla like tactics. These types of fights (whether it be the US fighting the British during the revolutionary war, or fighting in the jungles of Vietnam) are always more difficult. It is not a traditional battle (e.g. the US civil war, WWII, etc) where the two face-off, one side wins, the loser agrees to give up their fight, and the two sides move forward looking towards the future.

Why are Muslims often stereotyped as terrorists?

Q: Why are many terrorists identified as Muslim?Ans: Because the kind of world we are living in, demonizes the oppressed and glorifies the oppressor. Because muslims don't own CNN, BBC and FOX news.Because when USA/NATO/ISRAIL etc drop bombs on our cities, some of us survive with only one purpose to take revenge of our families. Because muslims have this concept of brotherhood which goes something like this, "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever"_Prophet Muhammad.  So, they see muslims getting killed every where, be it Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. and nobody bats an eye, they have developed a sense of collective victim hood.Furthermore, terrorism is the most manipulated word in geo-political lexion. It means use of force or intimidation in pursuit of political aims. Logically it follows any organization(islamic or secular) which kills people to further it's political interests is a terrorist organization. Thus every secular nationalistic army is a terrorist organization too and YES it includes Armed forces of imperialist powers who fought two world wars and killed millions of human beings. So either you stop using this word 'terrorist/terrorism' or don't be selective in your condemnation. You want to know about the worst terrorist attack in history? It was carried out by most civilized nation on earth. You got me, i am talking about mighty USA. When Colonel Paul Tibbets and Charles Sweeney nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki and killed 100 thousand innocent people. Even now children are born with deformities there. Or maybe you guys don't consider it as an act of terror because killing innocent human beings is less horrible if sanctioned by Nations or League of Nations.  So, USA/NATO crusaders can invade our countries on false pretext of WMD's, plunder our natural resources, or for catching their boogeymen in Afghanistan/Pakistan and bomb our cities kill our children and when we retaliate, we are terrorists because they have got BBC, CNN and FOX news on their side,  putting veneer over the dirty actions of their armies and plastering their agenda all over the international arena. We muslims are the biggest victims of terrorism. We are getting killed by both muslim militant groups and Western secular armies.

Will radical Islam ever go away?

He is so right. We have many other groups are less potent and not as vile as IS but the criminal mentality, the recruitment, the barbaric acts wont disappear.

The U.S. allows the torture to continue in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, and Egypt while paying them money. So the U.S. are complicit in terrorist activities even if they naiively think they are only funding the overthrow of Assad which itself if illegal.

The mission to eliminate IS needs many ground fighters like the Iraqi Kurds, the Syrian Army and Hezbollah fighters are doing. Air strikes kill too many others.

Nobody is helping the local militias or the army which makes me think U.S. and Europe do not want IS to stop. The U.S. has to stop funding and arming all militias because some of them become terrorists and this scourge on mankind wont stop without U.S. changing their actions.

Why do people join terrorist groups?

The media says they wanna fight for their religion. We all know it's probably more personal for each person. So is it loneliness, shitty lives, thirst for a cause, why?

Did George Washington use guerilla tactics against the British in the Rev War?

lol

I guess I am not the only one who finds irony in a country started by terrorists fighting a war on terrorism.

Yes, they would row over and plant explosives on British ships in harbors. They would tar and feather British government employees. The would take ships in ports and destroy there cargo the Boston tea party for example. Yes, our founding fathers were terrorists got to love the irony of it all.

Washington not so much though. He was British trained and fought a lot like them. he commanded the big showy armies that would go toe to toe with British troops in major battles. These where not really the troops that won the war. By won the war I mean made it painful and costly enough that Great Britain got bored with it and let us go.
