Would We Have Super Human Abilities On A Planet Circling A Blue Star

Does Superman have the same abilities in Krypton as he is in Earth?

In the Golden Age Comic, yes he did. In fact, it was due to the advanced physical structure of Krypton's' inhabitants. It was only after time did this change to include the Red Sun Theory, lesser gravity and such.

Just as we got upset with the change of Superman in the 1990s', perhaps we should have seen and known that he was and is always changing to fit today's' societies wants and needs.

How might humans look if we grew up on a planet with ten times the gravity of earth?

A planet with 10x Earth's gravity would probably be nothing like the Earth. But if we stipulate that it has Earth air at one atmosphere of pressure and everything is as Earthlike as possible...I wonder if land animals would have evolved yet. We're relatively new. Surely 10 gees would have delayed it. Forget birds. and flying insects. That means forget flowering plants. It probably also means mostly forget wind-blown pollen, seed and spores. So vegetative life on the surface would have to be very different - fundamentally different, not just shorter and squatter. That's one of a few million changes that there would be, and each small change would result in a cascade of  more changes, and so on.With all those changes to the environment, regardless of gravity, there's no possibility that humans or even animals would evolve the way they did. There wouldn't even have been amphibians or reptiles, let alone primates, or an African savannah. With 10 gees, surface animals might not benefit from having bones or at least not load bearing bones, especially spines. Maybe slugs or snails would do okay, compared at least to giraffes. In any case, no trees, no arboreal primates, no upright posture, et cetera, means no humans, no way. If humans did start living and evolving naturally on a ten gee planet, assuming we even could, then I suppose evolution would favor small bodies, short necks, soft bones, big hearts, slow metabolisms, and good crawling abilities. Maybe we'd evolve into slugs.

What can a blue sun do to Superman’s powers?

He is supercharged.(I think I might have to go look,… I’m, pretty sure when he was looking for a wife he went to a system with a white star.)What I understand:When solar power was introduced as the source of his main abilities, he operated like a capacitor, while under a yellow sun he held a charge that gave him his full range of abilities. If you moved him to other star systems, his powers increased or decreased immediately under the new light frequency of the Star. And red star energy reduced him to as close as he would to Human. So under an orange star, he immediately had half the available powers and abilities he has under a yellow star. Any star higher in freq than the yellow star Sol, increased his powers in proportion so under a “white Star” he should be much stronger. When he was rewritten By John Byrne, His abilities gained by solar power operated like a battery. The amount of solar energy absorbed  dictated his power levels. It seemed like his order of power was increased strength, then speed, then durability sans force field, advanced regeneration, and super senses all which increased as he grew up under the yellow sun. somewhere in his teens he gained flight and heat vision. If you take him out from under a yellow star he slowly loses his powers in reverse order. First he loses flight and heat vision,.. etc,..Being a battery - he could be “over charged” hence sun dipping to move planets around. If you put him under any other color star - his absorbtion of solar energy increases or decreases based on the frequency of the star.He could be as powerful under an orange star as a yellow one, but his recharge rate would be much slower and take longer. Under a blue, blue white, white star, his recharge rate would be faster and any power or ability not charged enough under a yellow star comes up and online.Hmph, I just covered 70 years of Superman history in the power department in less than a page.

Do you believe in life on other planets Atheists? Read the post or don't answer!!.?

I fully understand what you are saying & have a DVD of Carl Sagan's Cosmos TV series where he talks about the idea of 'extra dimensional' reality. I have also considered the possibility that maybe God exists in a separate invisible dimension we don't understand or appreciate.

Although this MIGHT be possible in principle I think it's very very unlikely. Why? Well even if there WERE a being 'outside' the reality we can see would that make it 'God'? No. It would just be something we were unaware of in the way radio waves were once unknown phenomena. They existed 'beyond our understanding' because we had no way to know they were there however they are NATURAL not SUPERNATURAL.

What you are proposing is something supernatural but the term is meaningless. An unknown phenomena isn't automatically a supernatural entity - it is a natural one but not one we knew about.

You could say 'Well how do you KNOW that God ISN'T beyond the 4 known dimensions & exists over the horizon line of our view?' I'd say, OK yes maybe there IS a God 'out there' but the thing is I don't see that possibility to be likely seeing as there is absolutely nothing to suggest this is the case. Yes it's possible but so are leprechauns too. The thing is you have no reason to ASSUME leprechauns exist in another dimension either. 'God' is in exactly the same category: Yes in principle God MAY exist beyond the limits of our view in another dimension but so do leprechauns. Until you have a GOOD reason to propose either one exists why do so? The Higgs Boson particle MAY exist because theoretically it should for various technical reasons (but it still might not), Cern should answer that question because it's a good question with some potential to it but why would we assume Gods OR leprechauns MIGHT be real too? There is no reason to do so what so ever.\

But to answer your question: Do I believe in life elsewhere in the universe? I don't know! We have NO signs of life out there & theoretically we should if it exists (according to Carl Sagan!) The thing is there is almost no reason to assume life IS out there. We do not currently know what causes life to arise so it's impossible to say it 'must' be there. I really don't know because there isn't enough material to even hazard a guess. I'm agnostic so I do not BELIEVE life is out there but I know that MAYBE it is -perhaps.

Is there a planet that would give us "superpowers" such as flight or super strength?

There may be planets that would allow additional movement abilities like flight or being able to jump extra high due to gravity differences. As far as super strength, you might be able to lift something much heavier than you normally would be able to if you were on a low-gravity planet. However, the strength you had would come from the difference in gravity between Earth and this other planet and unless you lived or at least spent time in a place similar to Earth, your strength would decrease as your body adjusted to the different gravity.

How detectable is our civilization, on Earth, by possible intelligent alien civilizations?

Good answers by all. One additional comment to add. If by "detectable", you mean "Able to discern from the radio emissions that there is probably a civilization circling that star (our Sun) that is using electromagnetic telecommunications", then we are "potentially detectable" by an advanced civilization that is less than 100 light-years distant. However, many people have been given the idea that aliens might "decipher" our television broadcasts and be watching "I Love Lucy" (or, as in 'Contact', Adolph Hitler.) However, there have been some physics calculations done over the last few years that have determined that our television signals, even if deliberately aimed at nearby stars, would lose their "information content" long before they reached another star system. It's kind of like hearing voices of a large crowd from far away. You know that there are people over there talking, but you could never tell what they're actually saying because the details of the signal that contain that information are washed out with the background noise. It's not a matter of aliens having "advanced technology" that could detect it. No matter how advanced the technology, it cannot restore what is no longer there. So, if they're very good at it, and if they're looking in Earth's direction, yes. They will see that Earth is very bright in the radio part of the spectrum, and that the variability is enough to imply that we are making it so (probably for telecommunication). They might even be able to determine Earth's rotational period, since the same Earth-bound transmitters would become visible and then fade away every day as the Earth rotates. But the information content that would allow them to actually "read" our signals... to find out what we were talking about... that is probably totally gone within one or two light-years. They may know we're here, but they won't really know what we're up to. (Probably for the best. Can you imagine them listening to what passes for political debate these days?)

Does anyone have the new paper mario for the Wii yet? If so I am stuck on a rock on level 9 .?

Silver Surfer Question?

The Silver Surfer began as the Herald Of Galactus, and thus was tasked with finding suitable worlds for his master to consume. This would make him appear to be a "villain".

Later, the Surfer would rebel against Galactus, choosing to defend Earth. While he was imprisoned here, he became an ally to many super-heroes, and a member of the Defenders, along with Doctor Strange, Sub-Mariner, and the Hulk.

After his release, he toured the cosmos, getting involved with a variety of adventures, and was drawn into the Infinity Guantlet war as an enemy of Thanos (about as evil as it got).

Sufer is still a moral paragon: good, vituous, etc. He is once again working for Galactus because he recognizes the need for Galactus to exist. This will however draw him into conflict with beings who oppose Galactus: very often heroes like the Fantastic Four.

How does Star-Lord withstand the Infinity Stone’s power?

Spoiler Alert! If you have seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we now know Star Lord's father is Ego, the living planet. Just like Nova Corps predicted about star lord's father, Ego is one of the most ancient bloodline and has been living for millions of years. Ego has the ability to create, his powers can be paralleled to God. He is one of the strongest creature of Galaxy. All these abilities, came into Peter Quill from his father though he did not realise that until Ego tells him about his lineage. These strong powers helped Peter to withstand the Infinity Stone for such a long time. Even though, if he would have continued to hold it for even longer, he would have died, because no one can directly come in contact with Infinity Stones.
