I am 20 years old and I want to go to college. Is it too late?

Tomorrow never comes until its too late, I had many fellows at my university who started late in their 20's most probably in 25s to 30s, Keeping long short, If its your dream than get your butt and make it happen. Rise & grindI have been  in the same phase of  life,  Before 3 years losing my mom to lung cancer, Had a same dull witted thought of ending life,  Knowing no one  even gives a shit  if I die, Now 3 years have passed I look back say to myself in the mirror "Saurabh you made the right choice man, If you have gone through such a punch from life & Climbed a mountain, You can Climb any heights after taking many hardcore punches"  So I  definitely am understanding what you are going through,  You might not even had to face such issue & you are talking about quitting your life, I will not become your mom or dad in this decision. Remember this if you want to give a shot to life, Punch it hard one good time in its face & it will never challenge you the way it has challenged you before.  Stop living your life with feelings  & start living your life with principles, Because at the end of your little feelings there is nothing, But end of every principle there is a promise. All the best

How can you support yourself while waiting for disability?

the only answer I have for you (been there done that) is family and friends. I stayed with people, they took me places I needed to go, I used other peoples' cars to get where I needed to go, when I stayed with friends I contributed with the cash I had plus did housekeeping and looked after the elderly and kids as a fair exchange. If you don't plan on working again then you need to talk with a SS attorney (it's free unless they get money for you for disability). Put your bills on hold by writing to the places you owe and explaining your situation. Either tell them you will work out something soon with regard to what you can pay, or let them know you're going into bankruptcy

Can you live well-off being on an EMT’s salary?

Yes, and No, the answer as usual is it depends.EMT is Emergency Medical Technician / TransportYou are basically Paramedics and drive an ambulance.Your job is to stabilize the victim/patient until they can get to a hospital. The burnout rate is high. Because you deal with, heart attacks, mangled bodies in car accidents, gun shot, knife attacks. Now there are two types of EMT, the Private ones that work for a hospital or HMO network. Then there are the Public ones. They belong in the same groups as Fire Fighters, Fire Dept.’s, Police, Deputies, etc. It’s a decent living, you won’t get rich. Most move on to Med School, or RN, or PA, or work in Emergency rooms in hospitals. Most EMT’s train to be an EMT, then they train to move on to something higher and better paying, I’ve never seen or known an old EMT that worked it for 30 years then retired. The burn-out rate is HIGH, because the stress is high. There’s also lots of down time. I know Firemen that make $100k plus, with all the OT.Paramedics for Fire Dept. make better money than EMT’s.But EMT’s your lucky to get $50-$60k, maybe $80k with lots of OT.Most of the time they are Idle, Hurry up and wait to be called!!!!They also rely on OT / Over-Time. Because they are Hourly, not Salary.OH, Expect to work rotten hours, like mostly night time, graveyard, and night swing shift. Why some people are asleep, but in major cities that’s when bad things happen. So your question is “Live Well-Off”; no, definitely NOT WELL-OFF, a decent living. Why??? Because EMT’s are NOT Nurses or Doctors, They stabilize and drive as fast as they can to the nearest hospital. You want to LIVE-WELL-OFF become a Nurse or Doctor.Good luck
