Inventor and manufacturing pioneer Eli Whitney was born in Westborough, Massachusetts, on December 8, 1765, the eldest child of Eli Whitney, a prosperous farmer, and Elizabeth Fay of Westborough. He early demonstrated his mechanical genius and entrepreneurial acumen, operating a profitable nail manufacturing operation in his father's workshop during the American Revolution. Because his step-mother opposed his wish to attend college, Whitney worked as a farm laborer and schoolteacher to save money. He prepared for Yale under the tutelage of Rev. When he sailed for Savannah, among his shipmates was the widow and family of Revolutionary hero, General Nathanael Greene of Rhode Island. Mrs. Greene invited Whitney to visit her plantation, Mulberry Grove. Her plantation manager and husband-to-be was Phineas Miller, another Connecticut migrant and Yale graduate (Class of 1785), who would become Whitney's business partner. Somewhat ironically, Whitney's two most famous innovations would divide the country in the mid-19th century: The cotton gin, which revolutionized the way Southern cotton was cropped and reinvigorated slavery; and his interchangeable parts, that would revolutionize Northern industry and, in time, be a major factor in the North's victory in the Civil War.
Why do parents not discipline their kids like they use to?
I think there are a lot of factors involved. We are no longer (for the most part) a one-income household culture anymore. While it's not an excuse, I believe that parents are tired. Parents that can't be home feel guilty and instead of realizing it's ok to be away from their kids during the day they try to buy their love. Parents don't support eachother or look out for eachother anymore. We have grown into a fearful group that is worried what the other parents will think. I remember as a kid that if I was at my friends house and I misbehaved that my friends parents disciplined me and vice versa. Adults today are all about me, me, me. It's not about the kids anymore. Hand them an iPod and go do your own thing. I don't think we value the important things in life anymore. I was raised by my grandparents, my mom was screwed up and thank God my grandparents took me in or I would be a hot mess right now!

I'm using my aunts account, okay well im twenty yesrs old as of last weekend (awesome) my ex and i hooked up again last night and he hasnt been with anyone since july of 2008.
