Do I have to use my real name on Quora? What is Quora's ‘real names’ policy?

On Quora, you are required to use your real, full name for your account. To do so, you can change your name from your profile. If you are ever uncomfortable about associating your identity with a particular question or answer, you can write the answer[1] or ask the question[2] anonymously. If Quora Moderation believes that a user is not using their real name, the user may be asked to provide supporting evidence.More specifically, the following rules apply to Quora profile names:Company or organizational accounts: you may create an account on Quora to represent a legally incorporated business or other organization. You are not required to do so, if you prefer to answer using a personal account. Not all organization accounts will be verified, though we may ask company accounts to provide verification.Names in non-Latin alphabet languages: Quora is currently only available in certain languages. In English, characters and letters that are not part of the Latin alphabet are allowed in user names in parentheses, if a Latin alphabet-name precedes the parenthetical. Example: Mikhail Gorbachev (Михаи́л Серге́евич Горбачёв), Hu Jintao (胡锦涛).Titles, such as "Dr." and "Ms.", may not be used in a Quora name; instead, information about degrees (e.g., "M.D.", or "PhD.") may be included in the user headline that appears to the right of your name, or elsewhere in your profile.Role accounts: Since each account should be connected with a real name, multiple accounts representing the same person (e.g., a professional identity under one name and a personal identity under a different one) are not permitted.Capitalization: Names should be appropriately capitalized. JOHN SMITH should be capitalized as John Smith.Footnotes[1] Quora's answer to How do I write an anonymous answer on Quora?[2] Quora's answer to How do I ask an anonymous question?

What do you think of compound names..and would you use any of these..?

I have loved Alexavier for a while now and Elizabella is cute but not really my style. The other names I don't really care for but I don't have any problem with combining two names. Some I really like, such as Evaleigh, Analeigh, Alexavier and Emelyn. Others not so much. I don't think there is anything wrong with having a unique name. I grew up with an uncommon name with an even more uncommon spelling and I was never teased for my name and I love my name and the fact that I never shared it with 10 other people in my class.

What are some unique or classic boy names that I can use for twins?

You should choose names for twins the same as you would for any other kids.Giving them “twin” names or rhyming names tells people they’re a matched set not individual people. Same-sex twins (even fraternal ones) are often confused for each other and giving them similar names aggravates that.I do have a few pieces of advice:Give them names that are similar “weight.” Don’t name one Hieronymus and the other one John. Don’t give one a traditional name that’s been in your family for generations and name the other one after a Star Trek character. (I’m not commenting on whether or not any of these are good or bad choices; I’m just suggesting you don’t mix them.)Doctors usually label multiple births A and B. You’re not the first person to think of using names starting with those two letters and it limits your choices. Nothing wrong with a name starting with A or B if you like one but don’t do it because you think it’s a unique idea.Instead, give each one a name with a different first initial. Separate initials are very convenient not only for labeling things when they’re young but later when schools want to identify kids by + .When we were expecting our twins, everyone wanted to know whether we were expecting boys or girls and what we were going to name them. We came up with a list of bad names that we’d tell them. Please don’t use any of these!Pete & RepeatKate & DuplicateClark & KentBruce & WayneAnna & HannahMario & LuigiThelma & LouiseBert & ErnieBen & JerryBryan & ByronMaya & Mia

Can names and surnames in the US have accents (i.e. ü, ş, é, etc)?

Anyone's name in the US can legally be anything you use. But many official bureaucratic computer systems cannot accept anything beyond the base 26 Latin letters, in upper and lower case -- often not even a hyphen, apostrophe, or space. For example, California birth certificates can only be issued to children using names in that restricted character set, though the child or their family can spell it with accents or other characters in ordinary use. However, any time the documents must be checked or matched-to, remember that the legal identity is without any special characters.

WDYT about these names in the news (female)?

Here are some unusual names in our local news.
They may be unusual due to spelling, being old-fashioned, being nns instead of formal names, or just different in general.

Would you use any of these EXACT names?
By that, I mean exactly the way they're spelled.
In other words, would you use Siouxsie even tho Susie is your first choice?

Since these names appeared in the newspaper, your guess is as good as mine when it comes to pronunciation.
Pronunciation guides aren't offered in print sources.

So, would you use any of these names EXACTLY as they appear?
(maybe as middle names or even GP?)

Trudy
Mingyon
Peggy
Siouxsie
Aminta
Mairi
Verna
Vallen
Jocile

Would you give any of these girls nicknames?

• Antoinette
I would call her by her full name unless she specified Annie, Toni, Nina, etc.

• Astrid
Nope, I'd definitely use her full name; can't think of anything this could be shortened to.

• Brigitte
I'd use Brigitte unless she specified a nick name like Bridie.

• Catherine
All of the Catherine's I know tend to either introduce themselves as Cate or Catherine. The ones that call themselves Cate, I call Cate. But the ones who introduce themselves as Catherine, I always seem to end up calling them Cathy.

• Charlotte
I'd call her Charlotte unless she specified Char, Charlie or Lottie. They're all very different nick names and I know Charlottes that just go by Charlotte so this would be a tough one to guess.

• Cordelia
I'd call her Cordelia but probably assume that she had a nick name that she liked.

• Evangeline
Same as Cordelia. I would ask if she had a nick name because this name is so long and formal that it seems natural that she'd have a nick name.

• Liliana
I'd most likely call her Lily.

• Morgana
Nope, not unless she specified.

• Phoebe
I may call her Phoebs as a pet name once in a while, but I'd usually call her Phoebe.

These are gorgeous names! ♥
