Would You Want To See Michelle Obama Run For The U.s. Senate Seat In Illinois In 2016

Could Michelle Obama run for president if she wanted to?

I love Michelle Obama and I think she would make a great President, but her running would be an exercise in futility. 1. she is Barack Obama’s wife. she is already hated by roughly half of this country for that simple fact alone. 2. she is black. Now, I don’t have a problem with that, but again, roughly half this country does. 3. she’s a woman. again, i don’t have a problem with that, but roughly half this country does. we had, what i consider, the worst candidate in the history of this country, running against Hillary Clinton and he beat her. Now, put all the “scandals” and your personal feelings about her aside, she is still INFINITELY more qualified to run this country than Donald Trump. you can say you want an outsider all you want, but i want someone with some experience and a working knowledge of how our system of government actually works. !. Donald Trump is NOT a good business man. Despite what he would have you believe. 2. You can’t run a country the way he runs his businesses. It can’t be “my way or the highway”. you have checks and balances. you may be the leader of the country but you have 321 million (give or take) Americans you have to answer to. So, if someone as inept as DT is can win against Hillary Clinton, the Republicans could run Jerrod from Subway against Michelle Obama and win.

What are the chances Michelle Obama will one day run for President of the United States?

Michelle Obama is a very capable, strong and clever woman. She is, however, first and foremost a mother and a wife and probably would not want to get mixed up in the mud-slinging of politics. She has been a fabulous, refreshing First Lady, but I do think she will welcome going out in grace and bringing her relatively young daughters up out of the public eye. Hillary Clinton has a daughter that is much older and more independent so has more free time on her hands. Also, Hillary has always been politically ambitious, probably more so than her husband. Michelle is more the supporting wife that softens the rough edges to her husband and has guided him morally and on a personal level rather than politically.

Will Michelle Obama run for president in 2020?

Think about it, she's in the public eye, Hollywood adores her, she has a degree from Harvard,After her husband is gone from the white house in 2016, she will be free to run for senator in Illinois. She surely will win. Then like her husband run for the white house. She will be the first african american woman, as president. No republican candidate will be able to beat her.

Will our current President Barack Obama run for the U.S. Senate in 2016?

Obama has no real interest in representing anyone other than himself. He has already reached the pinnacle (the presidency) and will be salaried for life and provided secret service protection for himself and family and will do what they all do. Charge $25,000 to $50.000 to give a one hour speech and sit back and enjoy being the 1% That is what he will do.

If Michelle Obama were to decide to run for president, what would her chances be?

IN 2020? No, no chance, she doesn’t have the experience. Now, were she to run (successfully) for a Senate seat in Illinois (I’m assuming the Obama’s still claim Illinois as their home state, transfer this to wherever they live now if they’ve moved residences), sit for a couple of years, and then run in 2024 or 2028, I’d give her a pretty decent shot. She’s good looking…yes, that’s a plus, and not just because of her being female, voters tend to discount Presidential Candidates that don’t “look the part” these days. She has a good head on her shoulders, high ranking law school graduate, well spoken, both in written speeches and impromptu interviews. She has reasonable policy viewpoints (assuming you tend more towards the Center-Liberal portion of the spectrum). She has quiet grace and dignity (something very lacking from the current Administration). The “First Black” thing has already been dispensed with, so there’d be no issue there (aside from racists who wouldn’t vote for a D anyhow)The “First Woman” thing would be a potential positive for her (assuming a female does not win in 2020/2024, stealing her thunder). There will be a desire for a return to the good times of Obama’s term by then, which never hurts. She has incredibly strong connections to Power politicans.Yeah, she could get there, if she wanted it and got a little experience first. However, that being said, I do not believe at all that is her desire, so I do not anticipate it at all.

Does anyone seriously believe that Michelle Obama plans to run for senate in preparation for a Presidential run? Would she win?

She has never, to my knowledge, indicated that she wants to enter public office. True, she’s young (she’ll be only 53 when she leaves the White House), so never say never. But….The Obamas have already announced that they’re going to stay in Washington until Sasha graduates from Sidwell Friends School. The District of Columbia doesn’t have any senators, and its one member of the House of Representatives, Eleanor Holmes Norton, is another black Democratic woman. Michelle Obama would never push Rep. Norton aside for the sake of her own ambitions.Another factor is where they’re going to live once Sasha has graduated. The Obamas still own their Chicago house, but the Secret Service may decide that it’s not secluded enough for a former president who routinely receives death threats. Also, the Obama Library will be built in Hawaii. Barack Obama has lived there before, likes Hawaii, and as an ex-president and bestselling author can certainly afford the high cost of living. However, Illinois usually sends Democrats to the Senate, and Hawaii is so blue that since it became a state, it has had exactly one Republican senator, who retired in 1977. Again, Michelle Obama would not challenge a Democratic incumbent for his or her seat. The Obamas could also move to New York, which has lenient residency requirements for senators, and which would be convenient for the traveling they’ll do post-presidency. But both current senators from New York are also Democrats.I expect that Michelle Obama will eventually become a college president or the head of a feminist organization—e.g., Emily’s List or the National Organization for Women. Or maybe the Obamas will start their own foundation and she’ll become its chief executive offer.

What kind of president would Michelle Obama be?

A2A:Michelle Obama is never going to be president. She has thus far shown no indication of interest in the job, has never held political office, and really has no reason to want the job.But if we are playing “what if,” fine.Michelle Obama is a smart woman. She was graduated from Princeton. She took a law degree from one of the top law schools in the world. She passed the bar in Illinois, which is not easy. But frankly, she has zero experience doing anything remotely like being president. Yes; she was married to Barack Obama, and saw, secondhand, some of the trappings of being president for eight years. But - her education and intelligence aside (and there are hundreds of thousands of smart, educated people in the country) - there is nothing that suggests that she would be prepared to be president.I imagine then, that her administration would be one that looks very, very much like any other garden variety, centre-left Democratic administration. She has no foreign policy experience, so I would bet she would fill out State with warmed-over folks from previous Democratic presidencies. She’s not an economist or labour expert, so these jobs would be filled with leftovers from her husband’s (and Bill Clinton’s) time in office.Other than being a parent, she’s never really run a school, so the Ed department would be led by an off-the-shelf Democrat.I think you get the picture.Lacking the experience of being in the senate or house or governor’s seat, she would delegate most things to people who have real experience with these things.Given that the bench here is filled with people whom we’ve already seen in the jobs, why would we expect anything too different?
