Why does my wrist keep cracking plez help it really hurts?

My wrist has been cracking for 4 months since I hurt it playing rugby I was stepped on with a soccer cleat and ended up with wrist tendonitis and a swollen and bruised forearm muscle

It really hurts when it cracks it crackes almost every time I bend it I have been doing phiso theropy to fix it but It is my tendons that are injured and it feels like its the bones in my wrist grinding up against each other I was told ther was no break in the bones of my wrist but I don't know it also feels like there is pressure in my wrist

My wrist hurts when it cracks when I pick something up that us heavy like back pack when I do a push up when I fall on it when someone grabes it

Why is my wrist cracking and how do I make it stop

Heard my wrist crack now it really hurts?

I would recommend calling an orthopedist's office Tuesday morning (if you're in the US, since Monday is a holiday) and asking for an appointment. They will probably try to get you in Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. They'll take x-rays of the carpal bones, which are a series of eight small bones between the hand bones and the forearm bones, and they are easily fractured. It is possible you are just having muscle pain, but your description is suspicious for a fracture.

I personally would not go to the emergency room for this. A lot of people do go there and get x-rays and a cast or splint if there's a fracture, and a big bill for the emergency care, and then they're referred to an orthopedist's office for follow up care, and guess what? The orthopedist often wants to redo the x-rays and redo the cast or splint just a few days later. They just do this stuff better than most emergency rooms, and the treatment is shortened that way. The one advantage of going to an ER today is that if you are having a lot of pain and over-the-counter medication isn't putting a dent in it, you'll get stronger pain medication at the ER. (The orthopedist can prescribe this stronger medication, too, but you'd have to wait a couple days because of the holiday weekend.)

In the meantime, the ice is a good suggestion. Up to 15 minutes at a time (longer than that can damage your skin). Take ibuprofen or naproxen (Aleve, Advil, Motrin) if you can safely take them, but never on an empty stomach. Rest the wrist (no piano or even typing on the computer! ;-) and elevate it higher than the heart when at rest. You can put a compression bandage on it to reduce inflammation some more, or put an over-the-counter brace on it from the drugstore for comfort if you want, but don't keep that on for more than a few days without a doctor's advice, or it can make your wrist weak and more sore.

Good luck. I hope there is no fracture. I hope your wrist is feeling better soon.

My wrist hurts, and it hurts to bend my arm?

i can bend my left hand back farther than my right.
on my left hand when i bend it back there is this weird pain on the left side of the arm, in the bone. the same happens when i bend it forward

i have had it off and on for a little while.

just yesterday i swung my arm around and hit my wrist right on the corner of a wall, and since then it has hurt a lot, it was red to begin with, i'm not sure so much now. i'm not really sure if its swollen
if i press a certain part right on the top of my wrist it hurts a loooot, it doesnt really hurt if i press other parts of my hand, but when i press this one area theres a lot of pain, and again if i have my fingers outstreched and i bring my hand back it hurts, but moving it forward with a fist or with fingers outstretched hurts. after i press that one part i sometimes feel a bit lightheaded or dizzy as well, after i press it or touch that part it hurts so much

i dont want to go to the doctor so they can say nothings wrong, so i want to see if anyone has an opinion on what MIIGHT be wrong. if you need more info before a good decision can be reached you can email me from my page
please any help is appreciated, it hurts so much.

Really painful wrist pain?

A few days ago, I noticed that my wrist was hurting pretty bad, but I didn't know what it was from. The pain is on the top side of my right hand, which is my dominate hand. It hurts when I move it from left to right, or when I pick something up with that hand, I can feel it and it hurts. It also sometimes feels weak, like I can't do anything with that hand. Also, when I scroll up and down on my ipod touch, I can feel it the most....because i scroll with my thumb and the pain is like right below it. I type and text a lot, so I thought it might be from that too, but I'm not sure. I looked up symptoms of carpal tunnel and tendonitis, but I've got a lot of different answers. My mom won't take me to the doctors and all she said was that i'll be fine. I'm just wondering what it might be? Because it hurts really bad.

(Sorry if some of the describing was confusing, I just don't know how to describe it) haha.

I don't know if this will help, but also when I wake up in the morning and try to move it, it hurts the most and I just don't move it at all for awhile because it's just to painful. Help?

Wrists hurt when playing volleyball!?

people should be ashamed at the answers they are giving you.

If your feeling pain then your contacting the ball wrong!!!!!!
End of story.

if your wrist hurt when spiking, it's beacuase your wrist shouldn't be hitting the ball, you should use your hand. Make sure your hand stays big and hard, and focus on good contact over power.

if your wrists are hurting when passing the ball then stop attacking it. If your arms are swinging into the ball then you have a problem. I am guessing that if your wrists are hurting then your passing is either going over the net, or away from your target.
When the ball contacts your arm you should be slightly dropping your arms. (And I mean slightly) it's called excepting the ball.

If you have a really hard spiker you might get stung once and a while, but once you start accepting the ball instead of attacking the ball your pain will go away in a hurry.

Keep up fighting for your spot on the team, hopefully your coach has better answers for you than you have gotten here.
Socks on the wrist, tape, ice, cold water, cutting of the fingers so the you wont notice the pain in the wrists are all awful responses. Just try accepting the ball instead of attacking it....

My wrist hurts so bad from cocktail waitressing.. how to help it?

sounds like you have carpal tunnel in your wrist, now doctors right away want to do surgery on these things but I have carpal tunnel that gets aggravated periodically and so does my husband, mine is from gardening and he is a maintenance mechanic so our wrists are used quite a bit.

Go get an ace bandage at the store for the wrist, they are uncomfortable because they have a piece of metal in them, so what we have found that works great, take a pair of socks that have a ribbed top and cut off the foot part, fold over the rest of the sock and wear that on your wrist, especially while you are working and make sure you wear it while sleeping also.

the sock seems to put just the right of pressure on your wrist and holds it in place without it being so confining like the Ace wrist bandage. You don't want anything too tight on there either.

Another option is to wear a glove to bed, one that goes up abit over your wrist area.

After wearing the folded up sock top for a few days to a week, your wrist will start to feel better but you most likely will get the carpal tunnel again with carrying the trays during your job.

we get the carpal tunnel so severely that me and my husbands wrist bone pops up but that heals up and goes down too with the use of the sock. Well worth giving it a try, it works for us.

now on the other hand, my neighbor had the surgery and her wrist still gets swollen and her bone is real large and she wore a cast on it for 6 weeks, so I say, the Sock is the better option, good luck, it should work for you too..by the way, I use the top off of one of my husbands thicker black dress sock, you probably could use the top off of one of yours.

I hurt my wrist arm wrestling.?

Sounds to me like you 'pop'd' a ligament in the wrist and boy that can hurt, not just for a week but for many many weeks to come.

See your smalls bones of the wrist are all connected by ligaments and when one is pop'd then the whole way your wrist moves, changes ... and because of this, it can cause pain.

There are all sorts of treatments that can be done depending on the severity of the injury. (if this is a ligament). Its not uncommon for a ligament that is injured to be mistaken for a sprain.

Being that its been three months since the injury ... you could try strengthening it and lots of range of motion to try and get it strong and stretched out again. If this dont get better and you need your wrist for (sports, work or something such as this) then you could see your Doc who could refer you to a surgeon who can get your though this.

Best of luck to you!

Good Luck
