Wt Happened To The Yesterday

What has happened to the “pomp of yesterday” in these lines from “Recessional” by Rudyard Kipling?

Read the excerpt.

Far-called, our navies melt away—
On dune and headland sinks the fire—
Lo, all our pomp of yesterday
Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!
What has happened to the “pomp of yesterday” in these lines from “Recessional” by Rudyard Kipling?

It is being fought for by the military.
It lives forever in the hearts of the people.
It has melted away in the fire.
It has disappeared like empires of old.

Why do I forget what happened the day before yesterday?

Well there are several factors that can lead to having a bad memory.First of all, drugs and alcohol can be a hindrance to your ability to process information and create memories and convert them to long-term so they can be brought back to mind later.Secondly, age can cause issues with creating memories. The older you get, the less capable your brain becomes. You have fewer brain cells which means you have less neurotransmitters available to keep your brain functioning at an optimal level. Age is not the only thing that can cause a reduction in the number of brain cells you have. Once again, drugs and alcohol can cause issues here as well as other factors.Thirdly, stress can have a profound effect on your brain and memory process. The more stressed out you are, the less likely it is for your brain to be working optimally enough to process information appropriately and form memories. Also, keep in mind that head trauma or damage to your brain can also cause issues to your memory and other brain functions. But I assume that you would know whether or not you need to consider brain damage.Lastly, I'll talk about sleep. You require sleep in order to function, and especially in order for your brain to function. When you're not getting the required amount of sleep you need for your brain to function properly, many processes slow down and eventually even stop at some point. When experiencing a lack of sleep, your brain's ability to process information is greatly reduced. And without the ability to properly process new information your brain can generate false memories or even cease the forming of new memories. There are plenty of possible causes to having a poor memory. For example, I didn't even talk about things such as amnesia or anything like that. Judging from the question you have no idea why you're not remembering things, and so I kinda ruled out the possibility of amnesia, a medical condition, and brain trauma (although it was mentioned, I didn't go into detail). Make sure you keep your stress level to a minimum, get plenty of rest, don't do drugs or heavily drink alcohol. If it has to do with your age, then it's a part of life and there isn't much you could do.Whatever the case, I hope you find this information useful. Also, I wish you the best of luck in figuring out what the problem is and hopefully get it remedied as soon as possible.

Why don't I remember 50% of what happened yesterday?

My personal experience with this sort of memory loss stems from the emotional part of the brain, the (hippo-campus). The brain loves to associates experiences and memories with emotion. Think about the last time you got hurt or angry at someone, what did you do? You can probably remember that you yelled at the person that made you angry, or when you got hurt you decided to cry and then go get yourself an ice pop. In regular daily life, such as going to school or working, we typically don’t use a lot of emotion in our work. Because of this our brains have less information to grasp onto and tie into the process of forming memories, therefore we do not record as much data. I have gone many days feeling somewhat emotionless and monotone, and when going to bed I look back and say to myself “what did I even do today? I went to work and I… well then I ate lunch and then… hmm I cant remember what I did.” We can’t remember what we did because it didn’t have much meaning and didn’t generate much emotion either. I’m not saying talking to friends or daily activities are pointless, but I am saying that our bodies might not have given these experiences much emotion, making it harder to form memories.

What are the odds of what happened to me yesterday? (see details)

If you meet someone you know in a store in your town or nearby town, and you and this person share similar interests. I wouldn’t call that too much of a surprise. When I go shopping for books, I routinely meet other people I know that like to shop for books. It isn’t surprising. Now 33 years ago I meet a professor that I knew from Cleveland State University while looking in shops along 6th Avenue in NYC. That was surprising to see him 500 miles away from where I normally knew him in Ohio. After we chatted for a while, my wife and I ran into him again about 3 hours later on the commuter train leaving the city.

What happened to Gareth Bale yesterday night ?

It was obvious Bale was trying really hard to do well. It was just one of his off days.

He was frustrated throughout the entire game. Agger and Skrtel did rough him up a lo. The Liverpool fans played a part as well and Bale got frustrated. That part was quite visible. And when one is frustrated, they usually won't be able to play their natural game. It affected Bale and it affected him quite badly.

I definitely think it played a small part in him not being able to take his chance. He was probably thinking of celebrating and let his frustrations all out even before he actually scored. Probably why he missed with a poor attempt on goal.

That's just a guess though. Hope he picks himself up.

What wonderful things happened to you yesterday?

It was a stunningly beautiful day yesterday, so I decided to go for a walk in the park. As I was wearing a t-shirt (no coat) I didn't bring my phone and earphones to listen to music, which is what I normally do.A little boy ran past me trying to catch up with his mom, puffing and screaming "I am defeated!" as he went. That just about made my day, but it got better. After another lap in the park, I passed a young family out walking in the opposite direction. A young boy of about eight enquired of his mom:"So do you feel like you're losing anything yet?"to which she replied;"Yeah. My mind."Sometimes I love people.

Why can we remember what happened yesterday but cannot remember what happens tomorrow?

That's actually a harder question than it sounds. From the standpoint of pure physics, time does not have a "direction." We perceive time as a single-directional line from the past through the present to the future, but that's not really what it is. Physical reactions can be looked at as time-invariant; there's nothing that says they must proceed the way we perceive them. The arrow of time can point either way and the laws of physics are perfectly happy.Thermodynamics, and specifically the second law of thermodynamics, is one of the few processes in physics where the "direction" of time matters. The second law says that entropy always increases over time in a closed system, so that creates an arrow of time, that runs from less entropy toward greater entropy. The psychological arrow of time, our perception of the "direction" time goes, aligns with the psychological arrow of time. Many scientists believe this is not an accident; that the psychological arrow of time will always point in the direction of increasing entropy. See, for example:http://arxiv.org/abs/1310.1095
