Wwe Was A Bit Better When These People Were Champions

What's the point of defending the WWE championship in dark matches if everyone knows the champ will retain?

I'm talking about when Raw goes off the air how usually they always have a dark match for the WWE championship, and the champ obviously retains because titles can't change hands when off the air.

http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/headlines/...

In the link it shows that after Raw went off the air, Miz defeated Sheamus and Randy Orton to retain the WWE championship.

Doesn't this make it so predictable on who's going to win? Obviously titles can't change hands when not on tv, so why does WWe do this?

To make the crowd happy some might say. How does it make the crowd happy if it's so predictable? If anything it makes it boring because of how predictible it is that the champion is going to retain.

Does Jinder Mahal deserve to be the WWE champion?

I don't know if he deserves to be WWE champion or not but one thing which he does not deserve is disrespecting the feelings of Indian people by doing things which insult us.There was no need for him to bring a lady to sing the National Anthem of our country,India on our independence day which led to American crowd booing it. It made me very angry to see our National Anthem being booed by Americans on our Independence day. Jinder Mahal who pretends to be a true Indian does not even know the National Anthem of India. He is just trying to be popular in front of Indian people and wwe is doing this to increase their growth in India.I mean if you want to increase your popularity in India rise someone who actually is an Indian and after what you did to Great Khali not many can aspect good things from you. Jinder Mahal was the same guy who was loosing to almost everyone till few months back and then he suddenly beats the likes of Randy Orton and A.J.Styles. Absolutely nonsense. As far as the ones who deserves to be champion are concerned I have one person in my mind who I thing will surely become a better champion than Jinder Mahal and he isShinsuke NakamuraI hope Nakamura wins at Summer Slam and bring an end to the reign of the pathetic pseudo Maharaja.Edit 1: Unfortunately the Modern day pseudo Maharaja again won with the help of the Singh brothers at WWE SummerslamEdit 2: We have a new wwe champion in AJ Styles who will now face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. But a question that strikes me now is that if we can accept Miz,Orton,Big Show as heel, why not Jinder Mahal.

What are the biggest examples of World Championship Wrestling's mismanagement?

Jim Herd firing Ric Flair when he was champion without realizing that they had no claim to Flair’s “real world championship” was epically stupid. Flair’s showing up on WWF TV with the belt was a really bad look for WCW.Eric Bischoff’s spending habits were a major problem. He dispensed a bunch of overpriced contracts, which eventually couldn’t be maintained by an underperforming product. Bret Hart was making $1 million per year in WWF, but Bischoff threw about $3 million at him. He would also do things like buy a new leather jacket in every city. While Bischoff did make the company profitable for a while, he lacked the long term vision to keep it profitable. After the AOL/Time Warner merger, those contracts looked like a sign of gross financial mismanagment. Near the end, many of the wrestlers treated the company as nothing more than a giant ATM. Some of them were even selling WCW merchandise on Ebay! Many gave zero cares. The product turn a turn for the worse once Vince Russo took over booking. He dropped a WWF blueprint on a company that people watched as an alternative. WCW had provided a great wrestling product, but when talented stars like Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, and Malenko headed to WWF it lost some of that spirit. Then there was just a bunch of goofy garbage like General Hugh G. Rection, G.I. Bro., That 70’s Guy, and so much more. Russo didn’t like that Standards & Practices was telling him what he couldn’t do, so he created a team called Standards & Practices. He put the World Championship on himself and David Arquette. The title held by so many of the greats like Flair, Dusty, Sting, Race, and even Hogan was completely devalued. It was just a slap in the face to many of the older fans, who never came back. Had Russo taken the product back to a 5 or 6 rating, they may have been able to weed out some of the more expensive contracts, but it was not to be.

Is it wrong that legends like Mr. Perfect, Jerry lawler, Owen hart, Ted dibiase..?

I don't think so in most cases. While these men may have never held World gold in the WWE, it's easy to question if they needed it or really deserved it. Sure, Lawler and Owen are fairly well acclaimed these days for one reason or the other but Lawler was never a big deal outside of Memphis, and let's face it he was only a big deal in Memphis because he was booking himself as a big deal. Owen gets the sympathy pass by many wrestling fans. I'm not one of them, and I actualy agree that he should have been the Hart to main event, not Bret. Owen had more passion, more charisma, and frankly a better look, but the fact remains that the man was never booked all that seriously outside of his feuds with his brother. To many, Owen was the Miz of his era simply because how obnoxious the man could be. When he was alive, no one was pandering for Owen for Champ.

While I love Hennig, he did a bit of bouncing around in his days. He's been in WWF, WCW, and TNA in his run on this earth so loyalty can be brought into question. While he was undeniably one of the best wrestlers to ever live, and really charismatic and had a winning gimmick, he spent quite a bit of time in the WWF outside of the ring.

Ted Dibiase was probably the biggest heel since Flair or Blassie in my opinion, to the point that guys like him and Piper didn't need the title to be over as bad guys. While I can think of a million ways they could've booked Ted as a strong, corrupting, awesome champion, the fact remains he never needed it, and the WWF never needed him to hold the gold.

The Miz as champion is a necessity. Back when these guys ^ were wrestling, there were bigger names than them. Right now the WWE has no full time big name attraction. Miz is a necessity.

Is cena the worst thing to ever happen to the wwe?

ok lets comfirm a few things

first and foremost vince isnt a real billionaire right now

in 2000 and 2001 he was on forbes billionaire list now hes not

vince is worth less then half a bil now with the departure of guys like the rock and stone cold

also back during 2000 and 2001 the ratings averaged a 6.1 now they average a 3.1

cena has not only reduce vinces cash flow but hes made ratings drop nearly in half

lets face facts cena fans are not real wrestling fans and they know nothing about the business and they have only been watching for like a year maybe

cena is why the wwe sucks

the wwe is at its worse moments right now and its all thanks to john ceman the worst wwe champion of all time

What were WWE writers trying to prove by giving away the title to Jinder Mahal at Backlash? Were they trying to impress Indians (because I am Indian and I ain't impressed)?

While giving the Indian market a kick-start was no doubt a major part of it, there were two other MAJOR reasons for giving Jinder the title.First off from a backstage perspective, it is a way of rewarding a talent who has “played the WWE game” the right way. He was released, somewhat unfairly a couple of years back, rather than get bitter and speak out, he doubled his effort and got into the kind of shape that saw him brought back to the company and impressing people with his attitude and ethic. By promoting him it “shows” that hard work and doing your time in a shitty gimmick does pay off.The last time WWE really did this was with JBL and their pushes are very similar, they found a gimmick that worked quickly, got into the kind of shape that made the push work and it “in theory” energises the lower workers to show it can happen to them if they toe the line, work hard and are a “company person”.The second reason is to reignite the idea of “anything can happen in the WWE…” as for many years it has become increasingly stale and predictable. When betting odds are available and often 100% accurate days or weeks before a show, it’s hardly must see TV. By giving the title to Jinder, in the manner they did, it re-introduced the idea that ANYONE on the roster is only ever two wins away from the World title, however many times they lose. They win a contender match or MITB/The Rumnble and they CAN win the title, even from established players like Orton. They’ve just moved Nakamura into that position and with Corbin having MITB, two new champions (albiet WAYYY too soon for either) will be created by Survivor Series. It’s certainly better than Brock holding the title to ransom on his farm…
