Yard Machine Fuel Filter

Yard Machine push lawn mower won't start?

Check your gas cap sometimes the baffle falls off and doesn't let the tank vent. should be a little metal thing on the inside of the cap. make sure the caps not cracked also. You could also check the spark by pulling the plug put the wire back to the plug hold the plug to where the metal of the plug touches the metal of the motor and have someone pull while you see if there's spark. if no spark could be a coil.

Yard Machines 13ak608g062 Won't Start?

I have a 42" Yard Machines Mower (model no 13ak608g062) Today it cut off while idling (I had been mowing all day) when I tried to restart it it showed the battery light. The battery is relativly new but I replaced it with a battery that was twice the CCA and I knew was good since it was on another mower that starts right up.

So I switched batteries and I'm still getting the battery light, no clicking, no turning over nothing. I've checked any electrical connections that I can see and they are all tight. I'm at a loss and really would like to fix it myself since I don't have a trailer to take it in to a shop.

Thanks for the help.

My Yard Machine Riding Mower starts then dies off?

Yes it can. If the filter was clogged earlier, chances are when it was changed that the line was not bled out as well. A big mistake when changing the filter is that the line is not purged. You want to purge or run out the line for about a half cup or so. The dirty, filter as it slows down the gas flow also backs some contaminants up in the fuel line only to clog up the new one when it is put in.

Where is located the fuel filter on my lawn mower?

There is not a fuel filter on your mower.

Here is a pdf for Model: 917.388280 or 917388280 Craftsman 6 HP 21 Inch Lawn Mower. The repair/exploded list starts on page 34 but you will want to jump to pages 36 - 39 for engine's information.

Yard Machine mower carburetor problem, won't pull gas from tank?

Yard Machine Mower info, MOD# 11A-084D129, 22" walk behind mower.

First start-up this year, the mower didn't want to start. I tried a squirt of gas through the spark-plug hole and the mower started, it ran just fine, I finished the front yard.

A couple of weeks later I tried to mow the yard again, and again no start. I removed the fuel tank and carburetor, and cleaned both and replaced them. I could only get the mower to start with a squirt of fuel through the spark-plug hole.

Now it won't run without squirting gas directly into the carburetor. With the air-filter removed, and the engine running, I can't see any gas flowing into the carburetor.

I'd appreciate any thoughts or ideas you have to offer.

Thanks.

Clogged fuel line? Snow blower wont start.?

I have a Yard machine Snow Thrower 5.5. HP 22 inch clearing width. It won't start and I have been told it is could be a clogged fuel line. I will buy the gum out I just don't know where/how to spray into the carburetor. Anyone know of an online manual with pics on how to do this?

Yard machine riding lawn mower won't stay running?

If it starts, then dies, it is probably running out of gas. Try cleaning or replacing the in-line fuel filter.
If that doesn't work, it may be the float sticking in the carb. Get a plastic or wood-handled screwdriver, hold it by the metal end, start the mower, and use the handle of the screwdriver to tap gently on the side of the carb. Sometimes this works, but you will probably have to do that every time until you rebuild the carb.
And, lots of luck - I know how frustrating these things can be.

Why is fuel leaking from the carburetor intake of my weed eater?

check the rubber bits first.mainly, the needle valve under one membrane, or the flaps that constitute the one way valves for the pump…sounds like it ingested itself some grit. even a tiny speck of near invisible lint will cause problems.8 years aint bad, but in my experience its the engine that starts suffering if its in daily use, before the carb.99% of the time, a complete dismantle, soak in methanol overnight if required (cheaper and more effective than most solvents for removing petrol “shellac”) followed by a good blow out will set it right. remember to pull both hi and lo needles, by counting the turns required to bottom them out first. open them up by half a turn on assembly, and give it a quick tune up whilst at it.i havent ever resorted to actually using the one rebuild kit i have here on hand… usually easier to scavenge scrap yards and come home with a dozen or more! a lot of the parts are interchangeable… a lot arent!

Are there standards to keeping a list of materials in stock for maintenance of heavy equipment?

Generally speaking, yes ....... The following should always be kept on hand for Heavy Equipment ........ they include - fuel filters, engine oil filters, hydraulic oil filters, engine oil(proper weight), hydraulic oil(proper type), tires and rims(if a wheeled machine), track pads with bolts and nuts(track machines), air filters, fan belts, grease, grease guns, hydraulic hoses and fittings(especially hard to find, make, or replace ones), batteries, fuses, radiator fluid, radiator hoses, hydraulic seals and repack kits, buckets and teeth, pivot pins, spare keys(keys get easily lost alot. !), cleaning supplies(paper towels, rags, cleaning solutions including lots of window cleaners)and finally tools ! lot's and lot's of tools ............... these machines do breakdown/malfunction regularly and must be fixed, even with regular maintenance. They are worked hard and take alot of pounding. So, that is the short list of what is needed to keep on hand for heavy equipment ........ it's alot of stuff...... some of it is universal(can be used for all machines) and some of it is machine specific, and brand specific. ......... my advise .....? don't get into the heavy equipment/excavating business unless you have alot of money, and big warehouse, yard, and shop facilities.
