Yet Another Tattoo Question

Questions about tattoos?

If you are a hooker get one if not forget it

What are some questions you can ask about someone's tattoo?

I agree with Torsten that, before you start a conversation with someone about their tattoos, you might want to ask yourself whether you’re prepared to hear the story. A lot of tattoos are highly personal, and you might stumble into a story you might feel is a bit too much information. Or worse, you might stumble into a story that is really boring. Then, ask yourself why you want to have this conversation. Are you interested in getting a tattoo yourself? Are you interested in the process? Are you interested in the person themselves? I think a lot of people who get tattoos like talking about the experience more than they like talking about the tattoo itself (hence all the lovely people talking about tattoos on Quora.)I always think, when it comes to tattoos, that asking What does your tattoo mean? is about as boring, annoying, and predictable as asking a writer What is your novel about? People get asked that a lot, and will probably have a soundbite answer ready (I know I do). So you probably won’t get an interesting conversation out of that question. Here are some questions I find interesting about tattooing:Is it true that getting tattoos is addictive? (it is, for most people. And if you start with that, you’ll show the person that you have some interest in and understanding of the practice.)Are you thinking of getting more? (if they are, they’ll tell you about it. If they’re not, they’ll probably tell you why the one(s) they have is (are) the only one(s) they want.)If the person has more than one tattoo: Which tattoo was the most painful to get? (as mentioned, it seems to me that people like talking about the experience of getting a tattoo. This might also get people talking about their artist(s), which some people also like.)If the tattoo is especially intricate / a really well-executed, unusual piece: How did you find the artist / how far did you have to travel to get the particular art? (the better the art, the better the artist, the prouder the tattooed person for carrying the specific art around)Copyright Dr WooThese are just some things I find interesting to talk about. Once you’ve started a conversation, if you find the person interesting, I’m sure you’ll come up with lots more interesting questions to ask them :)

Would you get a tattoo at a swapmeet?

I will only be tattooed in a professional shop no where else ever.

Yet another question on self piercing. Help please?!?

self-piercing is never really recommended by professionals.. but the nostril is an extremely simple procedure. there isnt any risk of hitting any major nerves/arteries/veins there.

i did both of my nostrils myself, as well as five or six of my friends.

just be sure to do it in a sterile environment with the right tools, preferably a hollow, tri-beveled piercing needle. if you'd like piercing needles, you can order them from painfulpleasures.com at a really decent price. just be sure to buy the already sterilized, individually packaged ones!!!

here is the link to the needles, you can get a single piercing needle for 49 cent: http://www.painfulpleasures.com/xcart/wh...

or a pack of 100 needles for $12.99: http://www.painfulpleasures.com/xcart/wh...

good luck and enjoy your new piercing!

=======================

honestly, i'd say don't go with the bridge. i'm a fan of bridge piercings, on the right person, but i'd suggest not to go with it on your facial structure. you have a narrower face and somewhat prominent brow line and i don't think it would look very good. [no offense dear! i just thought you wanted honest opinions]

Ryan Ross has another tattoo?

Alright, I know for a fact that Ryan Ross has more tattoos then the ones on his wrist. He has a 'Q' on the upper part of one arm, and a '?' on the upper part of the other. Does anyone know the story behind this. One girl said she knew, but I can't find her buzznet account. I'm sorry, I'm a really curious person.. :P

Why do people get tattoos?

Tattoos, just like any other thing related to a person, is an extension to his or her own personality. Everything that a person owns, admires or believes in reflects his personality and core beliefs. Thus Some reasons for tatooing are:-1) To reinforce an Identity: People use tattoos to stress on their main identity and to remind themselves of who they are. This identity can be "I am dangerous","I am special", "I am strong" or anything else that a person is proud of.2) To Reveal his identity to people: Contrary to common beliefs people who put Tattoos aren't always the ones who don't care about being judged because in many cases the Tattoo is used to send messages about their identity to other people. "I am not the kind of person you would want to mess with" is one possible message a person who has a tattoo could be trying to send to the world.3) To remind themselves of an important value: Some people get tattoos that have symbols that have special meaning for them. A person who is persistent could get a tattoo of a sword if he believes that a sword symbolizes resistance. This is another reason why you might not understand the meaning of a person's tattoo from the first look. Its because the tattoo can only be interpreted when you understand how the person who has it thinks of the symbol.

Are tattoos toxic and do they cause blindness?

Are tattoos toxic and do they cause blindness?Hello, there. I knew it was you, Austin, the moment I saw the question. Congratulations on yet another new surname! In answer to your questions, no and no. I can confidently answer this from personal experience since I have had many tattoos since the 1980s and none of them have either poisoned or blinded me.Tattoos can get infected when they are new, as can any other open wound, but this shouldn’t happen with proper aftercare. Once they are healed they are completely harmless.

Blurry/Fuzzy tattoo.......ATTN: ALL TATTOO ARTISTS OR EXPERTS!?

Where is the placement of the second tattoo? I have one on my right inner wrist that is slightly blurry because he went too deep..scraped it too hard. However, your new tattoo just could be looking that way because its not done healing. Sometimes they do weird things!

Also... you actually should use lotion after the first three days, and my artist recommended Lubriderm lotion, I use the one with sea kelp in it, my tat came out looking awesome when it was healed.
