As a doctor, what was your most 'now that was stupid' moment with a patient?
My brother has some good stories. He works as party of the ambulance service. I'll have to ask him about a few but they ones I can remember:They got a call to a house, and the door was answered by a 30-something guy, really rough looking, overweight, REALLY gruff. They asked what the matter was and in the highest-pitched voice, explained there was something wrong with his voice box. Whilst they drive him to ER, the ambulance crew stifling back laughter, he explains that he doesn't live with his mum because he “used to beat her up” in the voice of Mickey Mouse.Countless calls of period painsA girl who took 5 paracetemol (or something similar) and claimed she has overdosed (bearing in mind it takes about 80 to do any real damage)A guy who took heroine because he thought it would stop his heart racing after he did cocaineA girl who was nauseous. They went to the house, where he asked “On a scale of 1 to 10, how bad is the pain?” (1 being annoying, 10 being paralysing, unbearable). She goes “10” and hes like “well we better take you to ER”. The girl gets up and just walks towards the door quite calmly. Her mother then shrieks “Be careful, she'll fall!”. The girl then glances to her mother and falls to the ground dramatically (conviently avoiding anything she might hit her head on and landing safely on her arms).A lot of old people who cant get out of chairs and have been stuck there for DAYS. He mentioned once he had an old woman who had been dead for weeks and she had stuck to the carpet. They had to peel her off the floor and then peel away the skin she'd left behind. They also get old people who are just lonely and will claim anything in order to talk to someone which is quite sad.A guy who lost his penis after trapping it in his zipper.I will say that he has brought our family to tears of laughter on countless occassions.
What is your favorite book/movie/TV show?
Book: The Sea of Trolls trilogy. Words cannot describe how sad I was and am that these series do not have a fan base. I love this series more than anything, even Harry Potter (yes, I said it). I read them so many times, I lost count. If someone were to make a movie series out of them, it'd be amazing. It has adventure, great characters, and it's interesting enough to make you not want to put it down once you get into it, and there aren't many books that were able to do that for meMovie: the Hobbit and LOTR series. I can't really set them apart because I love the world of middle earth and all of the characters and the atmosphere that they have, but if I had to choose a single favorite movie, it'd have to be The Desolation of Smaug. I know the LOTR series are better in different ways, but I guess since the hobbit is most recent and I already had my honeymoon phase of fangirling over LOTR when I was in elementary school, the hobbit just feels fresh and closer to me.TV Show: Avatar the Last Airbender. I think this one is pretty self explanatory. It has awesome fight scenes with element bending that makes everyone want to be a bender of some sort, it's funny, full of heart, and intense. I watched it numerous times ever since I was little. Yea, I love How I Met Your Mother and Friends and The Office and Pretty Little Liars and Reign; I watched a variety of TV show genres. Nothing beats ATLA in my experience.
In the Notebook, why does Allie's mom when they take a drive tell her that she was in love with one...?
She takes her on a drive to show her the man she was in love with when she was young - but she tried to explain to her daughter that she would have gone "no where" if she had stayed with that man - she instead chose her current husband and lived a "good life" - she also mentions she drives by there from time to time to see him when he doesn't know it. She claims "not to know this man" because he ended up working in lower-class and physically became over-weight - She knows him but claims she doesn't know him because of the path he chose and she obviously has regrets of the heart, but not the pocketbook.

Remember the 555 book?
I am in Singapore and in the old days, stayed in a kampong. So the first 555 book was used in school to note down words to learn by heart. This was also used like a memo. Used to note down any reminders or thing I need to buy from shops aor market. Then got to memorise by heart, so no more use subsequently. Those good old kampong days. Communication was along the street and over the fence. No telephone. Need to contact relative, pay them a visit. That was a more social culture than now. Nowadays, just a phone call and never get to see face to face. Present day, even meet relative on the street, also cannot recognise. That is how much damage the phones are doing to our life. Things were more communal. Need to gather a group of friends, we go to every one's house to get them. And the group get larger along the way. Time was a luxury then. No need to hurry around. Games? We play hide and seek, play catch, play rounders, play goli, play skipping. Everything outdoor and physical. Never know what was it like to be sick. Guess we were all much healthier back then. Compared to present day people who seem to visit doctor much more frequently. Those good old laid back days are really life worth living. Wonder if this will ever come back.
