Do you think George Zimmerman will testify?
My bet is no. From what I have seen, he made enough statements pre trial. So many, in fact, that the police and or prosecutors initially declined to prosecute. Much of this is going to come in without him taking stand. If he takes the stand, he will be subject to an ugly cross examination regarding the statements he already made. From what little I have seen, he made a lot of these earlier statements without the benefit of counsel. Often times this results in a poorly constructed version of events with a lot of holes and inconsistencies stated ad hoc, not subject to critical review for hard questions prior to talking to the police. However, whatever he said, it was successful in initially convincing law enforcement not to prosecute. By taking the stand, he compounds the problem, because he subjects himself to cross examination on these statements. Really, taking the stand is like walking into quicksand where he is going to struggle with everything he said in the past. While Cliff has a point about limiting the direct testimony, it seems like an impossible line to walk with prior statements attempting to create a self defense claim.
Are Trayvon Martin supporters aware he may have been committing felony assault when he was killed?
Ok, let's go with the idea that Trayvon was there to commit a crime with a huge IF (considering his father and fathers fiancé live in the subdivision makes this highly unlikely). George IS NOT an authority and DID NOT identify himself as one. As a matter of fact, didnt the operator say more than once "stay in your car" "we don't need you to do that" (follow him)? So explain to me what difference it would make what Trayvon was doing if George didnt have any authority to do more than call 911? Better yet, explain to me how can George claim self defense when he decided Trayvons guilt in a car with no evidence (please listen to his tone on that 911 call "these FUCKS always get away"), pursued, then got out of his car and attacked Trayvon? On what planet is self defense and instigation synonymous? George incited the altercation he ended up in. By sheer definition, George was not defending himself. He was acting out his misguided hatred. One more thing, explain, with such a rogue approach to justice, how are Black Americans supposed to feel confident in the justice system? Please explain, in terms of the reckless killing of Black lives, is this 1813 or 2013? To me, it feels like strange fruit.
How is the acquittal of Jose Ines Garcia Zarate different from acquittal of George Zimmerman? Why is Trump so outraged?
George Zimmerman is a white man (actually, he identified himself as a “white Hispanic”) charged with killing a black teen-age boy. Garcia Zarate is a Mexican man charged with killing a white woman.Zimmerman claimed that he killed Trayvon Martin in self-defense. Garcia Zarate claimed that he never aimed the gun at Kate Steinle and didn’t deliberately fire the fatal shot. Rather, the gun went off by accident and the bullet ricocheted and struck Steinle.Trump is outraged by the verdict because he’s a racist, particularly obsessed with white blonde women being victimized by men of color. Had he been born in the Deep South late in the nineteenth century, he might have joined the Ku Klux Klan, where he would have found kindred spirits. Remember, he took out full-page ads in New York City newspapers demanding the death penalty for the five black and Hispanic men arrested for raping the “Central Park Jogger” before they had even been tried, much less convicted. Even now that DNA evidence has not only exonerated them but identified the real rapist, he continues to insist that the five men are guilty.Garcia Zarate has never been accused of a sex crime, but in Trump’s mind he’s a sexual predator who came to the United States specifically to prey on attractive blondes. This is in keeping with his claim that Mexico “doesn’t send its best people” to the United States, specifically calling Mexicans drug mules and rapists.He also sees the acquittal as a personal affront since he campaigned on an anti-undocumented immigrant platform and promised to build a border wall, which he insists would have kept Garcia Zarate out of the United States. But since Garcia Zarate has repeatedly been deported only to return, he may be more resourceful than Trump gives him credit for.
My mom keeps telling me to wear makeup?
So I had bad acne for a while but now its pretty much cleared up and it left a few battle scars. I never wear makeup. I hate makeup I think its dumb and a waste of time and I feel beautiful without it. I feel more insecure actually wearing it because im.afraid people will know im wearing makeup and think im only wearing it because im ugly. My mom keeps telling me to wear makeup though, like she yells at me and makes me feel like crap just so ill wear makeup. I dont want to wear makeup why cant she just accept it. I thought mothers wouldnt want their teenage daughter wearing makeup. I occassionally wear eyeliner but never mascara (i have naturally full eyelashes and eyebrows) or foundation (i hate the heavy feeling of it yuck). Why doesnt she understand? Im 17.
