A 20-year-old Florida man has stepped forward as the lone winner of the $450 million Mega Millions jackpot from the January 5 drawing. 

Shane Missler will take the a lump sum payout of $281.2 million.

It is the fourth largest jackpot in the 21-year history of the Mega Millions and the second largest jackpot won by a single ticket. 

His historic win came one day before a record setting $559 million Powerball drawing, whose lone winning ticket was sold in New Hampshire. That winner has not come forward yet.

Missler bought the winning ticket at a 7-Eleven store a in Pasco County, Florida using money he won from a scratch-off lottery ticket. 

He purchased five quick-pick Mega Millions tickets and one was the winner. The money will be paid to a trust, set up with Missler as the managing member, called 'Secret 007, LLC.'

Missler is a longtime lottery and scratch off fan, having previously reinvested his scratcher winnings on buying more tickets

'I'm only 20, but I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity,' Missler said in a statement.

'Although I'm young I've had a crash course this week in financial management and I feel so fortunate to have this incredible wealth and team behind me.

'I intend to take care of my family, have some fun along the way and cement a path for financial success so that I can leave a legacy far into the future.'

Before his win, he was a 'Verifications Specialist' at Universal Background Screening, Inc, according to his Facebook . After high school he attended one semester of community college in Massachusetts before going to work at a Best Buy.

He got his most recent job, which he quit this week, after moving to Florida last February.    

The incredible payday also comes less than two years after he proudly paid all cash for a 2004 used Subaru after saving up for months.

'If there is one thing I have learned thus far in my short time on this earth it is that those who maintain a positive mindset and stay true to themselves get rewarded,' he said. 'I look forward to the future.'

Missler has been living in Port Richey Florida, where he bought the ticket, but is from Maine. 

He graduated high school in 2015, went to community college for a year and then moved to Florida in February 2017, where his father, a Navy veteran, lives in Port Richey, which is by Tampa. 

His mother has passed away. 

He is also an avid New England Patriots and Boston Celtics fan, according to his Facebook, and loves Tom Brady.
