Apple Laptop Or Microsoft Windows Laptop For College

Should I buy an Apple Macbook or a Windows laptop  for computer science in India?

Buy whatever you are comfortable with. Windows 10 is a great operating system with way more flexibility than MacOS. Now Windows 10 has a bash shell integrated with the operating system and I’ve been using it to compile all my C/C++ programs through it.Check this out:How to get Bash on Windows 10 with the Anniversary UpdateNow if you don’t have budget constraints and are alright with using old hardware configuration and you really like apple, you can go for MacBook Pro. It’s a fairly okay laptop for programming (considering Windows has Unix Shell now).I personally prefer Windows over MacOS. (And no I don’t use any Antivirus software, and never have needed to for years).

Mac laptop or PC laptop for college?!?!?

I'm not sure which one I should get for college. I grown up using a PC but Macs seem to be very user friendly and I can get to learn how to use it.
If I get a mac laptop, which one should I get? Macbook or Macbook Pro?
Or if I get a pc laptop, which brand would you recommend?

price range: $800-$1000 would be ideal

my major for college: Biochemistry/Cell Biology

Best Laptop For College?

This is a fairly good system, the fact that as long as you have a legal copy of either WindowsXP SP2 or Vista, you can run Windows on a hardware basis, along with MacOS X on the same machine is great. This gives you the ability to run Unix applications (under MacOS X), even some of the Linux apps (again under OS X) as well as the full spectrum of Windows apps. The base price model $1999 is a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. This should be a decent machine if you need a portable. Dell, Toshiba, HP, and Acer also make good laptops, but in truth, if you run a checklist of equipment and the software installation on the 15" MacBookPro with their "equivalent" machines, the Mac may actually come out a few hundred dollars cheaper.

Mac or Windows laptop?

It sounds like you already like Macs better!

I grew up on PC's and hated Macs...boy was I wrong. I just recently got a MacBook Pro for college and I absolutely love it. It has all the programs you mentioned, and more.

-There is this awesome app called GarageBand and you can use it to make your own songs and beats. I've made some pretty good songs for a beginner. There's also so many more apps you can download for music as well, they're available in the app store.

-Microsoft Word is also available to install on a Mac. I installed the whole Microsoft Office because I didn't like the "Word" that came with my laptop. Yay for compatibility!

-iTunes obviously comes with the laptop because it's Apple software.

-As goes for photo editing, I've just been using iPhoto - it comes pre-installed with the laptop. You can do basic editing - red eye, straighten, crop, effects, and color adjustments. It's all I need because I don't edit much, but again, there are TONS of apps available to download for editing pictures, and a lot of them are free.

-Another good thing about getting a Mac is you never get viruses like PC's. My parents have a PC and they run scans on it every week, always finding a crap load of viruses. I've had my laptop since the beginning of this year, I download a lot, and I've never had a virus.

I vote Mac. :)

Best Laptop For College Student?

Opps - forgot the most important part. If you know what college you're going to, check to see if they have a recommendation. Some courses require PC computers, which makes Macs somewhat difficult to use. Macbook Pros are nice machines, but you're looking at $1100 for the base model, even with the educational discount.

A current, mainstream laptop in the $500 range will fit your modest needs. As long as it has a dual core processor (do NOT get the bargain basement version) and 3+ GB, it will handle web browsing, email, MS Office and HD video watching with ease. Solitare and light gaming like Sims 3 and World of Warcraft will strain this level machine. Hard core gaming or heavy HD video editing are out of it's league.

What computer brand is better? Apple or Microsoft?

Im not sure which is better. Apple is expensive and good but Microsoft is cheap and okay? can you guys give me like facts on which gets less viruses and which would be better for holding 1000's of photos?
