At What Age Can My Child Quit School In Wv With Parents Consent

Can my child quit school at the age of 16 in arkansas if i sign a consent form?

If there's a truancy issue, and you're getting into trouble because the little s*it isn't going to school, then I would say yes.
If you can help it, though, I would really reconsider that decision. It's you're job as a parent to give the kid what they need to grow up and be a successful adult. They, in a way, depend on you to tell them what is right to do.

They may not like what your opinion or decision, but if they grow up one day and realize that they have their high school diploma because you stuck to their butt about going to school, they will really respect you for it. I almost dropped out against my parents will, but they put a lot of things over my head so that I couldn't. I stayed in school and now I am in college. The respect that I have for them now is tremendous because they cared. This is something that I couldn't have ever known at the time, but I've grown up and realize it now.

At what age can a child be signed out of school by a parent?

We live in the state of PA. What we want to do is pull her out for the remainder of the year due to bullying & tormenting.I have looked on the internet but all they give are the statistics for our county's school system. She would be dropping out & possibly return to a new school district in the fall when we move this summer. We would just have her repeat the same grade over that she is currently in now

At what age can your parents let you drop out of school?

In Florida, you must attend school no ifs ands or butts about it, until 16. At 16, you are no longer considered truant if not in class but you are considered skipping class. 16 is the legal age to “drop out” but there are specific ways to do so. At the age of 21, you are no longer allowed to register in a public high school. If you decided to go back to school and get your diploma, you will need to look into adult education at a local community/junior/state college. While you might be getting a GED do not be fooled, it is the same as the high school equivalent diploma. But I should warn you, once you hit your adult years, adult high is not free like high school is. I can’t tell you to stay in school, but I can say it is cheaper in the long run to stay in high school instead of trying to fix a mistake.

Will the school guidance counselor tell my parents about what I tell them?

I am not a school guidance counselor; however, I believe that he would carefully phrase what he would tell your parents in such a way that your parents would not find anything in what he is saying that puts you in a bad light. I, myself, in a conference with both child and parents found myself in such a position. The parent asked me a question, and the child moved back from his mom. He shook his head vigorously indicating that that he didn’t want her to know something. I smiled at both and then evaded answering the question by asking another question.Guidance counselors do not want to break the bond of confidence that must be there in order be helpful. Teachers, too, are sometimes in this position. Sometimes kids just need someone they can trust and the trust must be kept if at all possible. One of the saddest things that I did years ago was when I betrayed the trust of a student. To this day, I feel guilt. There was a girl in my classroom who was a loner. She’d hang around in the classroom after school and then walk with me to my bus stop outside of Chicago. One afternoon as we were walking by a automobile graveyard, she stopped and pointing down to one of the cars, she said to me, “Look, look down there. See? That’s where I live. My dad is sick (I found out later he was asthmatic) and my mom’s at work.”I was appalled and asked, “You live in a car?” She shook her head, “Yes, but we use two.”It was at the end of autumn. The days were getting chilly. The next morning, I walked into the principal’s office and told what I had discovered. I never saw the child again. Immediately after walking into the principal, he had called the police who raided the two cars that night. The family was removed. The child was sent to grandparents, the man to the hospital, and wife moved someplace with another family member. How sad, so very, very sad.

How old do you have to be to drop out of WV high school WITHOUT parental consent?

I'm trying to figure it out online, and google/yahoo/askjeeves hasn't given me ANYTHING that's up to date.

Can you help please?

Oh, and I'm NOT looking for a long-*** explanation about why I shouldn't drop out. This isn't for me, it's for a friend. She wants to drop out because of medical reasons, and her parents wont let her.

What is the legal age to drop out of high school with parent consent in, IL?

As an educator, I would encourage you to get your high school diploma. Although a GED is fine, I have found that many employers will choose a person with a diploma over the person w/ a GED. Furthermore, many school districts have programs to help pregnant teens such as yourself. They receive federal dollars to help with child care and other services to help keep you in school.

Please take another look at your school district and find the person who helps teen mothers. Start with a counselor if you do not know this person.

Good luck,

Can you drop out of school at 15 in PA with your parent's consent?

Sounds like you've got it all figured out since you don't want anyone to give you "this bull how (your) life is going to be....".

School should be your only priority right now. Are you suggesting that arguing with your mother or sister is a priority? Dealing with diabetes is a priority, but not a full time job. What else is going on in your 15 year old life that's a higher priority than getting out of your house and going to school? If you drop out, are you just going to stay home so you can spend more time arguing with you family?

My suggestion would be to stay in school. If you want to know the legality of dropping out with a parent's consent, check with the school board.

Can I legally withdraw from school with parent/guardian permission in ohio?

Stay in school, I employee a lot of people at minimum-wage jobs who wished they had stayed in school.

I'm pretty sure you can just drop out with or without permission but if you are school age and have not graduated you may be arrested during school hours for being truant.

Awwe, you and baby-dady are going to get your GEDs. GEDs will not get you into college later in life. Also many baby-daddies say they will marry you but 76% end up leaving within the first 3 years. 53% leave within 12 months.

You should still finish school, sure the difference between no diploma, diploma and GED is minimal for jobs like housekeeping or Circle K, if you ever want to do something with your life or baby-daddy leaves you and you HAVE to do something with your life you're going to want the diploma. I know one or two years seems like an eternity to someone your age but trust me that at some point in your existence you'll wish you had finished school. And if you don't trust me, then believe that it will be a bad example to your daughter that you did not get your diploma.

In Georgia, can you move out at 16 without your parents' consent?

One can (or could. I'm not aware of any new laws since 1996) quit school at 16. I don't think charges of statutory rape apply if the sex was voluntary. I don't think one can get a Driver's License without parent consent. Also, legally, your parent/guardian will still be responsible for any problems you get into. You will be a target for all the predators in the real world. If your home life is really bad, contact the Dept. Of Family and Children Services(DFACS).

As an 18-year-old senior, am I able to skip school without my parent’s approval/verification for any reason?

By accepting your school as your educator you have also accepted the rules. As an 18year old you need no ones permission to do anything but now you’re not a child you have responsibilities. Not just the others.Your parents give up their financial and other freedom to continue keeping you. The school provide educators and a place to learn. It’s your responsibility to repay your parents for their continuing love by taking advantage of what’s on offer. Your responsibility towards school is to be a good student and role model to the younger pupils.Planning on skipping school without informing anyone could show real immaturity; it’s just common decency to share your plans with those it affects.Advice is to get on with it to the best of your ability. Also remember that never again are you likely to have so much time off work as you do now. In fact those who can’t cope with the relatively few weeks a year school is open will have real difficulty staying the course for upwards of fifty weeks a year at work.
