Belkin Wifi Router Wont Connect To Any Devices Other Then Pc

Why is my Belkin router not connecting to the internet? How can I fix it?

Need to know more about the connection medium but I'll go out on a limb. While I was a tier ll tech support specialist for a telco that supplied adsl, belkin routers always seemed to be a recurring problem. Almost all of the time it was due to the router address and the modem address being exactly the same. The way most modems come now, they actually have the ability to support multiple devices simultaneously, just add a switch. This is because they are set up to NAT, or create a separate Vlan’s to devices connected to the RJ45 port. This is how you may see your public or WAN address being different from the actual ip your pc has been assigned. Ex. WAN 184.174.178.33 vs running ipconfig /all from a command line showing 192.168.0.14 at your local machine. Routers do this as a primary function.Even tho the modem is creating a separate network, when you connect your router to the modem and the modem assigns a 192.168.0.x address to the WAN port of the router, well here now you have 2 authoritative devices on separate vlans with the same subnet and mask = 192.168.0.1/24. To make matters worse, keying in 192.168.0.1 into a browser will bring up either the modem config page or the routers. That is not good because if we don't know which device may show up on that screen, best believe the modem and router are warring hard core trying to determine who walks softly, and who carries the big stick. And they won't stop until all memory and cpu cycles are exhausted and both don't do shit except be a paperweight with blinky lights.Solution - Take the router out of the picture for a moment, connect directly to pc. Access settings, bridge the modem, reboot the modem. It will now pass the WAN address thru to the router when you hook it back in eliminating the “war”. All will function as designed. This is also a fix for those of you with hosting issues on Xbox live or the PSN. NOTE A hard reset of the modem will turn bridging off and you will need to do the above steps again to avoid another war.

Belkin router blinking green? and wifi-capable phone won't connect?

I have been trying to connect my wifi-capable phone (HTC Inspire) to my wireless router. It found it when I typed in the SSID and password, but says it's out of range. I don't know why, because I'm in my house... So I temporarily took off the security for the router, thinking its blocking my phone. But when I did that, it started blinking green, and now even my Playstation3 that was once hooked up to it won't even connect to it now. Also, now when I tried to turn the security settings back on, by right clicking the Belkin icon in the task bar then clicking router settings (thats how I always do, that's the route I took when I turned off the security) but it only takes me to router.com. Not to the settings for the router like it used to before I turned off the security things.I also tried unplugging the power source to the router. Still blinking green. I also tried pushing the reset button on the back of it, but that didn't work either. And I unplugged the router, turned off the computer, then turned it back on, then plugged the router back in. But STILL nothing. I've said as much detail as I could think of. Please, can anyone help me with this? I really need to get this fixed.

Why can't my Belkin router detect my modem?

I had gotten a Belkin router that has the four LAN ports and up until yesterday it was working just fine. But when I tried to install the software onto my sister's computer it wouldn't work. I could never get the software to install correctly onto her computer and I think maybe it wasn't compatible. The problem is now it won't work on any of our computers. When it was working properly, the router was connected to our modem and to our desktop computer and my laptop was connected wirelessly. I have tried disconnecting both the modem's and the router's power supply and have tried the appropriate reset steps for the router but still nothing. The router just won't detect my modem. I don't think that there is something wrong with the modem because I can connect the modem to my laptop with a ethernet chord and connect to the internet just fine. Is it possible that somehow the router could have gotten damaged when I tried to install the software on my sister's laptop? Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

When I connect to my Internet router through wireless, it says limited access and I can't connect to the Internet. How do I fix this?

Let's  try to understand the problem first. You are getting message of Limited Access when you are connected to your wi-fi. It means you are connected to your Router but there is no internet or there is internet but your computer isn't able to recieve that. It means your LAN card is working fine. Now we have 3 different steps to fix this issue but before going further just restart your computer. 1. Disconnect your computer from your wifi and re-connect it. If this works then no need to follow other steps. 2.Go in Start menu and search CMD or Command Prompt. A black window will be pop up on your screen. You need to type further commands : ipconfig/release then press enter, ipconfig/renew then press enter, netsh winsock reset then press enter. Restart your computer and ta-da you have fixed your internet connectivity. 90% issue resloved by this step. Still you are facing the same issue then, follow 3rd step3. Restart your Router/gateway router. And follow step 2 before restarting and is it still doesn't work then contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider). At this point there is no issue in your computer. Because you are already connected to your network. It is just your network. I hope it helps. Thanks.

How to hook up belkin router with no computer?

You can any device with a web browser. I manage mine with the Dolphin browser on an Android phone.

The only thing you may have a problem with is the "Network Name(SSID)". You can find out what the default name is on the tag under the base of the router. If they are both the same you may have to shut down the first router while you setup the second. The SSID's must be unique.

below is a link to Belkin to setup without a CD. Ignore the part where you are to plug in a computer to the ethernet cable.

After you connect your phone or other device which has a browser, browse to http://192.168.2.1 then click on Channel and SSID and enter a new name and save.

Good luck
