Best Wifi Router Of Minimum Price India For Bsnl Broadband Connection

Can I use BSNL Broadband with just a WiFi router and no modem?

PLEASE DO READ THE UPDATES AT BOTTOMI am surprised with the answers. Actually, you can. In theory*. With a BSNL broadband connection, you get a modem, which you then connect to your PC's RJ45 port via Ethernet cable.Suppose you buy a (normal, not ADSL) Wi-Fi router and instead of connecting to PC, you connect it to this router and configure the PPPoE connection in router's configuration page, it should work. There is a possibility that BSNL is bound to your PC's MAC address. This is an easily solvable problem. Almost all of the modern routers have a functionality to "fake" a MAC address. So you simply copy your PC's MAC address and configure that for your router through router's configuration page.*I say in theory because I haven't tried this yet. I just bought a normal router which I am now going to try with BSNL connection. I'll be back with an update after a few days.UPDATE 1: Yup, it works just like I thought :)UPDATE 2: After reading the recent comments I realised that my answer may mislead. Like this answer correctly says, you DO need at-least one modem. All I wanted to convey is, you don’t always need a ADSL capable WiFi router. You can work with the default modem that bsnl provides + a separate WiFi router.Apologies to readers who were mislead.Router I used : TP-LINK TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router

You don’t have to buy it from BSNL. You can buy either DLink or NETGEAR. Recently my modem got damaged and I purchased “DLink DSL-2750U WIRELESS N ADSL2+ 4-PORT WI-FI ROUTER”. How can we get a BSNL Broadband without a landline?

Technically it is feasible to have a bssnl broadband connection on one copper wire. Practiacally they always provide you a pair (two ) of copper wire and dialtone over it. Commercially they don’t provide braodband without landline connection. Sometime time ago bsnl had braodband only plan. Then too they provide a telephone number and dialtone over copper pair. For now you can not get a bsnl broadband connection without landline. You will have to pay rent for landline and eventually you will use landline. Although they have combo plan which includes landline rental but that is not you are wishing for. However it is always beneficial to have a working landline on your broadband connection. It gives you identity (through landline number of course). You immediately know when your pair (copper line) get faulty. It is beneficial for you, have it please.

What are the advantages of using a link-state routing protocol when compared to a distance-vector protocol?

Main advantages:

1. Links-state routing protocols operate better in large, enterprise-level networks.

2. Link state convergence occurs faster than distance vector convergence.

However, traditionally the following are the advantages, but they are not necessarily true nowadays, especially after Cisco's proprietary EIGRP joined the distance-vector protocols:

3. They use a hierarchical structure that help limit the distance that an LSA (Links State Advertisement) travels, and this reduces the likelihood that a change in the network will impact every router.

4. They use multicasts (instead of broadcasts) to share routing information.

5. They support classless routing.
