If there are only several sites you want to block, you can use Hosts File, and it goes this way 1. Open MyComputer 2. Browse C: (or your Operating system drive) 3. Browse Windows –>System32–>drivers–>etc So the Location will be C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc In the etc folder look for the file hosts 4. Open this file hosts with notepad. 5. At the bottom of the file, add the line as shown below: 127.0.0.1 www.xxx.com 127.0.0.1 www.xxx.com ... 7. Save the file. Note: In this way add any number of sites you want, however you will need to prefix it with "127.0.0.1". I always use safari 5 I have Windows Vista Starter Licensed SP 2 and want to know how to block pages not to be viewed on my computer unless I allow them to be viewed like most pages I know so please even is it's a program I used Avast! 5 and it had site blocking witch did the job but his gone so please help me !!!
Stop employees from using bit torrent?
Hello. I work for a small business. One of the employees of the business insists on downloading movie and television shows using Bit Torrent. This is contrary to company policy, but due to a lack of desire on the owner's part, the employee is not fired. I have been asked to shut down this user's ability to use this technology. Here is the setup: Internet---DSL Line---DSL Modem---Router---Switch---Other PC's All PCs are running XP Pro. Router is a DLink. We also have a Windows SBS (in a Domain Server capacity) hanging off of the switch, the other pc's do not route through it. Difficulty, is that the offender is very computer literate. I'll take any and all suggestions.

You will want to block them from the router: that way the blocks hold network-wide. Your router most likely already has parental controls built in to it: just read your manual to find out how to use it. It may also be called a "website blacklist". Sorry I can't give you any specific details: each router has a different interface, so it's hard to tell you exactly how to do it.
