Can A Big Dog Get A Little Dog Pregnant

Chihuahua pregnant by bigger dog?

She is getting really big, her tummy almost touches the floor but she can walk and even climbs on furniture and my fence! How far along can she be? I thinks maybe a little over a month. Will she be able to have the puppies? This is her 5th pregnancy but the other 4 were by a mini puddle. You can see a pic of her and of the dad of the puppies when he was about 4 or 5 months old. He reaches about 6 inches below my knee standing on 4.

Can a big dog get a little dog pregnant?

Yes. But if the penetration doesn't kill her, trying to carry pups that large WILL. There is never a valid reason to let any dog - male or female, intact or altered - around any female in heat and there is never a valid excuse for keeping an intact female without knowing how to keep her confined when in heat and knowing how to tell she is in heat.

ALL dogs are the same species and any intact male will attempt (and even in the case of physical challenges most often succeed) to penetrate and impregnate any female in heat. This goes for any breed of dog, any wolf, coyote, and at least one species of jackal that are all capable of breeding.

Is my dog pregnant?

Has she just been in heat if so has she been with any males if so did you see a tie if so she could be count 63 days from the tie if it has been 3-4 weeks you can take it to a vet and they will be able to tell you and you don't say how old she is or her breed labor is very dangerous and the Mom could die if she cant give birth and you don't do a c-section this is $1,200 up if the age the size if the dad was a bigger breed this all makes the danger to her greater if it has been only a few days a vet can give her a shot to end it if its been longer they can go a head and spay her you have to think about the danger for her and if you want to risk her life by having the pups but your right with out a vet the only for sure way is she will start to show when she is about 5-6 weeks along

My dog is pregnant by a big dog and she is really small will she die?

this is a question you need to be asking your vet...he knows your dog better than anyone on here...i have seen big dogs get little dogs and they did just fine...it goes by how many pups she's carrying...the more she's carrying the less room to grow...if there is only 1 or 2 they have more room to grow...the guys cocker spaniel got pregnant by a pit bull mix she had 5 pups and did just fine..but you need to take her to the vet and ask your vet...

Can little dogs have puppies with big dogs?

Yes, but there many thing to be considered. First the size difference and the physical mechanics of the actual copulation. If the male is too large his penis can rip the vaginal opening, especially once coitus begins and the bulbus glandis swells up and results in a 'tie' (the male and female dogs being tied together) ... glandis or "bulb", a spherical area of erectile tissue at the base of the penis. If coitus is successful, and the size difference is not too great, the puppies’ size will stay within the limits the mother can carry. Except in the case where there are just one or two puppies, then a caesarean section delivery would be best for the mother and the pups.

How many times should my dog get stuck to become pregnant?

The correct term is “tied” not ‘stuck’.Two dogs only become tied if the male’s knot gets fully inside of the female. If it does not, he may tie outside or even tie inside of his own sheath. This is not especially important, because canines ejaculate the entire time they have an erection, unlike most mammals. However dog’s semen is very watery and easily leaves the female’s reproductive tract, especially if she is sittting down or begins to clean herself. For this reason, the chances of a breeding being successful do increase if the two dogs have tied: that will keep them standing typically, and gives time for the male’s sperm to travel up through the cervix and have a good chance to fertilize the female’s eggs.Typically if one pays a stud fee to a breeder, the dogs will be expected to tie multiple times, because the breeder wants to be fair and the female dog’s owner wants to be sure they will get the puppies they paid for!It is best to let the dogs mate on more than one day, because the female will be appealing to males before her true fertile period begins - in nature this would gather a large number of suitors - and then a few days after this time she will truly be ready for impregnation.

Can a really small dog die from getting pregnant?

It is unlikely. If it was a big dog then I would say yes due to the Yorkie not being able to pass the pups naturally. In that case a c-section would be needed to ensure the heath of mother and pups.
A small dog and a small dog breeding should be no problem. Pups and mom should be fine. Best thing to do in the future is have your dog spayed to keep other male dogs away. It is amazing what some male dogs will do to get to a female in heat. If your Yorkie was in heat at the time it could be the reason the male dog wanted to get in your yard.
There are enough dogs needing good homes. It is important to spay and neuter your pets.
