It depends on whether the immigrant took advantage of a federal program or state program. Since federal law has power over state, certain programs exist in all states and they are able to obtain some sort of state ID usually in the form of a driver’s license or work authorization card. Certain states have programs under which they can obtain a driver’s license because those immigrants might not qualify for federal programs, so far there are 12 states and DC (which isn’t considered a state) that have these in place. Can the new NY State License Hologram tell you when you're drunk?
So I work at a place that sells Alcohol and Tobacco and I've heard from a few customers that if you're over the legal limit (.08) and you blow on the hologram it will turn a different color or something to tell you that you shouldn't be driving? I had a semi intoxicated customer blow on his (we both wanted to see what the outcome was) and we observed no effect. But then again he prolly wasn't drunk enough because we can't sell to ppl who are visibly drunk. I've Googled this and looked around and I don't see anything about it. I'm thinking it might just be hearsay? If anyone knows the actual answer to this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
