Can I Bleach My Hair 2 Months After Keratin

Questions about Keratin Hair Treatment?

Hi! I have a few questions about the Keratin Hair Treatment. My cousin is my hair stylist and she thinks my hair could really benefit from this treatment.

I have blonde color treated hair. I never all over bleach my hair, I just do the roots as needed every few months. My hair is crazy! I have curls underneath in the back, waves on the side, but the top is relatively straight. As a result, I normally dry and straighten my hair every day using a Chi flat iron and Chi Keratin mist with Chi straightening protection. My hair has not grown past my shoulders since the seventh grade (I'm 19 now and a sophomore in college).

1. Would the Keratin Treatment make my hair more manageable and need less heat on it each day?

2. Will it help my hair grow at all?

3. How long should I wait before I wash it and will my hair look gross until I can?

4. Will I be able to touch up my roots with blonde after the treatment? If so, how long should I wait?

If you can help me at all, I would really appreciate it!!

Thanks so much!

That's the color I want it

I used a free amonia dye. My hair was keratin treated two months ago. When can I re-dye it?

why do you want to re-dye it?  and how long ago did you use the ammonia free dye? I don't see a problem coloring your hair after a keratin treatment. in fact many dye treatments and keratins treatments are done on the same day.  just remember, if you hope to lighten a hair dye color by re-dyeing it, it will not work, color cannot lift out color. if you are dyeing the ends of your hair, make sure it's a semi permanent color, a demi, or a rinse.

Is keratin shampoo safe for your hair?

was looking online on Walmart at these oxg brand that I enjoy I was looking at the keratin shampoo & conditioner. Has nice views about it. I was wondering what exactly is keratin for your hair? Is it safe? Can I use it every other time I wash my hair like switch between shampoos etc

How to lighten my hair without bleach?

I've been wanting to go a lighter brown than my current hair color, which is a dark brown/black, but I do not want to bleach my hair (keep in mind, I've bleached my hair before many times). I have used boxed dye (specifically Schwarzkopf Keratin hair dye) and it's been 2 months since I've dyed it. I don't know if hair remover is going to remove anything since people I know that have done it were never successful in removing their hair color.

Is there a way I can lighten my hair without using bleach? Thank you.

Is Redken Keratin in Salon Treatment good for hair or or bad?

Okay so i had really dry overprocessed hair about 4 months ago because another stylist at another salon fryed my hair so bad it looked dead and just horrible. So this new stylist i have did this treatment 3 months ago and it looked like it did something to my hair to make it soft and manageable. Then this week i have another appointment with her but it's been 2 months since i got my last treatment she said it doesn't have chemicals it's all natural. Is this good for the hair if i keep up with it. I use alonside with the redken smooth down shampoo and conditinoer and leave in. I'm hispanic with coarse dry hair and used used to be super curly but now only is wavy and frizzy sometimes.

Can I dye and bleach my hair if I had a japanese permanent straightening 6 months ago?

I wrote a comment on this earlier. I use to give the straightening product and I did not recommend any chemical services after having the treatment. As far as hair color goes, there are some that only have a developer of 7% that I think would be alright. I would be very careful and get it done professionally.I read one girl say how she got to gold or pale yellow bleaching, but then she would need a toner to get the color she wants. She never mentioned the toner so I have no idea what her friend will look like.People complain about shop prices etc. We had to study a lot of chemistry to know about this profession. Again, if you do anything I would try the color using only the 7% developer. Remember, condition everytime you wash your hair. Once you have any chemicals on your hair you have to condition. If you have virgin hair you should use a mild conditioner. It removes soap curds, less tangles, and more shine.

How long after bleaching and coloring your hair can you relax it?

I bleached and colored my hair mid February prior to that it was never bleached I know relaxers say if hair is bleached don't relax it but I know it can be done. If you don't have my kinda hair (African American) or know anything about my type of hair please don't answer. Thanks

How Long Should I Wait To Relax or Rebond My Hair After Bleaching?

Bleaching is damaging to hair. It is chemicals.

Relaxer or rebonding hair is another form of chemicals on top of that.

The official complaints against hair straightening products range from serious hair breakage and hair damage to serious scalp burns that may require an emergency room visit.
Example of what one suffering severe hair loss after Japanese Hair Straightening from YA HAIR:
I got my hair rebonded back in March and have lost more than a third of it since then. Everytime I run my hands through my hair, I lose 7-10 strands on average!
In the shower I lose clumps after shampooing and conditioning.
Bald spots are showing up in my hair.
I used to have beautiful thick hair, ho can I get it back?

Another ex: I used to have very curly, beautiful hair..and then i got it chemically straightened..DONT DO IT! when it started growing out, it was mess and even more difficult to work with than before. and once it was completely grown out, my hair was no longer curly..it is now this aweful wavy mess, and only certain spots are still curly.

Keratin are not approved by the FDA. Visit their website & search for it in their web. If you're thinking about the Brazilian treatment, there's a danger about using formaldehyde, a chemical that causes cancer. The FDA does not restrict the use of that chemical in cosmetics.

The October issue of Allure magazine in US includes an investigation into the Brazilian Keratin hair treatment (BKT for short) also known as "escova progressiva" treatments, which cost as much as $600 and claim to turn dry, frizzy hair into smooth, silky hair for months.
Stylists and clients often wear gas masks or other protective equipment and still may feel the ill effects of this potentially fatal gas.

If one is damaging alone, imagine what both chemicals will do to your hair, a month from now, 6 months from now even if you wait a year from now to get them done.

I know hair. I have 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80's & 90's. I've known people in their 30's whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70's.
