Can I Change The Ball On My Tragus Piercing

How to change a tragus piercing?

Unscrew the ball at the front, and it should just come off. I think most of them you turn to the left to loosen. Once the ball is off, you can slip it out by pulling the flat bit at the back that's in your ear canal.
Then you take the ball/ front stud off your other jewellery, push the stick bit through your tragus from the back, and then screw the ball on the front.
It's quite fiddly, especially the first time. I'd have someone around to help you, as they're going to be able to get a better look than you.
Good luck :)

Can I change the gem of my tragus piercing if I keep the bar in my ear?

It is safe to remove the ball/gem from the piercing, as long as you keep the bar in nothing will go wrong.

Can I change my tragus piercing after 2 months?

Hi. I have a dentist appointment in about a month and at that point I will have had my tragus pierced for 2 months. I need an xray and the tragus jewellery will need to come out.
Currently, I have a CBR(captive bead ring) in my ear. That is what I got pierced with.
To take the CBR off, I must go to my piercer, which means he must change the jewellery to something else for me, something that I can actually take out and put back in myself, like a stud for example. This is so that when I go to my dentist appointment I can remove the jewellery (because I can't remove a CBR myself, it requires the piercer's special tools I believe).

My question is can I do this? Can I change the jewellery when it has only been two months with the piercing? Also, how long does it take for the hole to close up? Do you think it'll close up if I take the jewellery out for the amount of time the xray takes?

Please answer!!
Thanks in advance :)

When can I change my tragus piercing?

I got mine done 5 weeks ago and I've changed it twice. Bad idea, I know, but I was allergic to the ring he put in and the bar I changed it to originally was too long once the swelling went down. What I would say is that changing unhealed piercings is bad...but to be honest mine has been fine. If you're desperate just make sure you sterilize the jewellery first with some rubbing alcohol or tcp and do it quickly. I would wait for a couple of weeks before you change it, to minimize your risk of developing a lump later on.

I sleep on mine because I have a rook piercing in my other ear that still swells if I sleep on it. It hurt a bit at first, but now it's absolutely fine. Obviously it's not ideal to sleep on it, but if you have a valid reason for doing it then I wouldn't worry too much.

How do i take my tragus piercing out???

You might want to go back to a piercer if you are dealing with a CBR (captive bead/ball ring). Reason for this is that they use a certain style of plier to open and close the CBR as to not hurt you or damage the jewelry.

If you try yourself, I suggest you be very careful because you can easily slip/tug on the jewelry and hurt yourself and the piercing (trust me, I've done that a looooong time ago-not fun) If you take the jewelry you have back to the piercer for a small tip, I'm sure they'll have no problem helping you out. Once you are there, they will be able to give you tools and or advice about getting the ball in and out (its not as tricky as you think)

If you still want to try yourself, get some latex gloves to get a good grip on the jewelry and the ball. Gently try to slide the ball out, if it won't even turn, the ring is too tight and you'll have to have ti loosened. If you can get the ball out, make sure the replacement is the same size and line up one indent with the jewelry and pop the other end it place (it gets easier over time)

How can I loosen the balls on my tragus piercing?

I got my tragus pierced about 4 months ago. I've been trying to change the barbell but the balls on it are rediculously tight. I would rather not go back to my piercer and have him take it out because I want to learn how to do it myself. Is there any way i can loosen them?

Why is my tragus piercing swollen?

Ive had my tragus piercing for 5 nearly 6 months, it is 100% titanium and I clean it morning and night with salt water, it was swollen to the size of the pierced bar 2 months after I had it done so it was changed to a longer bar but it is swollen, this is how it always looks ~this was took right now after a soak, also could you please answer my other question about hypertrophic scarring and how to treat it on my account, much appreciated!

HELP!! My tragus piercing came undone, and I've lost the ball but still have the bar?

This will sound kind of weird but tape it. It works well and will secure your earring. If you don't wanna do that, then get like a cotton ball or something like that to replace the ball for the night. Every once in a while u should check to see if it is still there. If it's not there, find a thingy like a very tiny stick, and dunk it in the ear care thing and use that. Lol it sound very weird but it will save your ears.
