Can I Know What Is The History Of Gaviscon

Acidic stomach? Anyone else has this?

Right, so I am 17 year old girl, and i have this problem on and off, sometimes for a week or so. My stomach gets really acidic and growly (not painful) and i have all these weird burps (not proper burps like half way between a burp and a hick-up). And sometimes it is accompanied by extra saliva, and for a few hours i'll need to keep swallowing?! Which is really annoying. It seems to be when my stomach is empty or after a meal.

Why is this? Its not constant, just on and off. I am under stress of exams atm, but it has happened before. My family has a bit of a history with IBS, and i have had constipation issues in the past. I also have a contraceptive implant if that makes any difference. Sometimes, i also feel very bloated. Gaviscon occasionally helps when the acidity gets really bad.

What could this be? Anyone else had this?

Middle chest discomfort?

I do not think that you are having any heart problems, specifically myocardial infarction. This is because the pain is usually at the left side, and chances are, you would experience palpitations, and very high or low blood pressure. The chest pain is probably not related to your cardiovascular system. You have also mentioned that you are a teenager, and therefore you should have a low risk of suffering from heart problems or diseases.

On the other hand, you might be suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease, which is the abnormal reflux of gastric acids in the esophagus. The common symptoms are chest pain or discomfort, nausea, regurgitation and difficulty swallowing. Most of the time, only a few symptoms are present. If ingestion of antacids or proton pump inhibitors alleviates the situation, it is a sign that GERD is the underlying cause. As you mentioned in your question, consuming Eviline, (is it the chewable tab?) which is a type of antacid medication made you feel better. However, be sure to check your stools or saliva for any sign of blood. If you wake up in the middle of the night in pain, or if pain is felt at the epigastrum, it might be a different problem. If you are unsure or if the symptoms get worse, consult your doctor.

If GERD is not treated properly, it might lead to other health issues. Often, though, GERD might be a symptom of another underlying problem, such as irritable bowel syndrome. Teens are usually prone to IBS, which is caused by stress and tension. Although not a serious problem, it might cause discomfort and affect your daily life. There is currently no known medication to ease this, but it usually gets better in the log run. Your worries about a myocardial infarction might also increase the effect of IBS, and thus GERD. Thus I believe that you should not be too worried as it usually worsens the situation.

Can you take Gaviscon regularly for a longer period and eat spicy food if that stops the heartburn?

No-the medicine not cure the reason for your heartburn, but only the symptoms. You have to change your eating habits and spicy food is to being avoid while having heartburn. Don't let the tablets get responsible for your life and health-if you don't change it now-no tablet will do for you. Yes you can eat spicy foods and then end up with heartburn symptoms and take tablet and going in circles, but for what benefits?

Is there any way to make gaviscon taste less bad? I have Aspergers and am hypersensitive to taste, but I need to take gaviscon to stop my acid reflux so I can sleep at night.

Have you tried other flavours of Gaviscon? I quite like the original aniseed flavour, but there’s also peppermint, ‘cool mint’ and cherry. It might be worth having a word with your pharmacist. They can often source or mix an identical suspension, but without flavour or with a different flavour that’s more to your taste.

How do you treat early morning acid in the stomach?

My first question : Does it happen once in while or it has now become almost every morning conditions? My suggestions: [ Getting medical advice on Quora is not the most correct step in case of health problems]:Get yourself little educated with the possible causes of the symptoms you have. With your one line question, you will get suggestions in hundreds. I hope you do not try those one after another.Go to internet and find some articles written by, most likely, experts: Why don’t you click on “ causes of morning stomach acid symptoms”.There are quite a few. One that I read: by Dr. Chris in Health Hype; Morning stomach symptoms and hunger pains upon waking.Read it ( and may be a few more) and relate your symptoms to those. If it is temporary, change in diet , time of eating, etc. could help.If it has become chronic, just visit your health care giver and follow the the suggestions.

Diagnose me please. Constant burping and neck pain?

History: I have was diagnosed with IBS about 10 years ago, I am 29 years old, not severely over weigh (i'm 5ft 2 and weigh 10st) Other than all that i quite healthy, have 4 children and am quite active altho i dont do particular exercise and my doet is not healthy due to work and time. and have never burped in my life!

About 3 weeks ago I had severe staomach pain (like usual cramps from IBS but worse) then i began to burp and i have not stopped yet....It keeps me awake at night and makes me vomit regularly, I can't breath normaly as I am burpinng constanty about 40 times per minute. For about a week now i have had severe pain in left side of neck, sholder and a little at the left back of head, it sometimes goes down my left arm. this pain gets worse when i am having a particularly bad burping attack. Doctor says it's just a symptom of my IBS and changed my antispasm tablets but this has not worked! He says its deffinately NOT indegestion. I have not slept in days and can't work as my job is a hotel Manager which requires dealing face to face with people. I have spent the last 2 days constantly crying I feel like i can't do anything, i can't work, i can't go out in public because children point and stare (the burping realy is that bad! it's like breath in through my nose burp out breath in through nose burp out ect ect) I called NHS Direct yesterday morning in tears they said it's unlikely to be a symptom of IBS as my doc said but acid reflux, try antacids..i ave done this i have tried Gaviscon, rennies and also zantac..none have stopped my burping.
1 last thing..i have NO burning or pain in my chest and i am NOT gulping air....this ame on suddenly. My stomach looks 6 months pregnant...I can feel air bubbles moving around my tummy and they growl up my throat.
Please don't be sarcastic or mean with responces..I am at my wits end. I am tired and embarrassed.

I've got severe gastritis, how can I treat it?

For 2 weeks now, I haven't been able to eat because of the dizziness and nausea. There's a constant gnawing pain in the pit of my stomach and soreness on both sides; if I try eating, it becomes sharp. I've lost 18 pounds already, got continuous headaches and inter cranial sinus pressure. Each night I pray that I will wake up the next day without symptoms (and the nights are the worst in terms of nausea, discomfort, and insomnia). I don't drink, smoke, and I had an active lifestyle before this. My personality has changed and depression seems to have set in. I'm very worried. Does anyone have any experience with this? How long will it last? What is the best treatment? Anyone who's had this knows how painful (and frustrating) it can be. There are times when I feel like my body will just give up. What has been your experience in terms of treatment? What works fast? I'm on proton pumps but they don't entirely work and the nausea remains constant throughout the day.

Is it gasvitis/GERD or heart disease?

Recently starting last week iv been feeling chest tightness followed by a burning sensation every time when I lay down ready to go to sleep. I didn't take it as being a serious problem until Just yesterday that I started feeling short sudden pain and numbness in my left arm. Scared that I may be having a heart attack or in the process of having one, I went to the ER. Once there the doctor told me it could not be heart disease or heart attack since I'm only 16 yrs old and concluded that I have a condition called gasvitis/gerd. I don't fully agree with the doctor and I'm unsure if her conclusion is correct or not. I mean I haven't been feeling pain in my stomach or anything to be considered gasvitis & i don't think left arm pain is a symptom of it. Please help!!!

Burning sensation in my chest?

Its not heartburn I know this. But I have this slight painful burning sensation in my chest sometimes accompanied with a sharp pain. I do have a history of inflammation in the flap of skin to the lungs. But it's a little different from the pain when it is inflamed. Does anyone the cause? Or if I should see a docter?

Greyhound questions?

Good for you considering adopting a dog in need of a home. And even better for you that you are taking the time and thought to make sure that it is the right thing for you.

1. Sorry I am in the USA so I don't know. Do an internet search. If you can't find a local group, contact a national group for a referral.
http://www.greyhoundrescue.co.uk/
2. Hard to say. Depends on a lot. You need to consider annual vaccinations and dental cleanings, heart worm and flea prevention, food, toys, beds, coats, unexpected illness or injury, boarding if you travel,etc..
3. Because of their thin hair and low body fat, they need coats and clothes to wear in cold climates. Because of their wide neck and smaller head, a martingale collar that wont slip off, and then all of the other things anyone would need for a dog.. food, soft and warm place to sleep, toys, treats..
4. M or F is a personal preference. They are both great.
5. Through your adoption group or over the internet, on ebay...
6. In the USA most groups will provide the spay/neuter and will have the dog current on shots and any other vetting, a martingale collar with lead, and a muzzle.
7. They are sprinters. They have energy but it comes in short bursts. They were breed to be hunters and to be companions.
8. Its streamlined shape, large lungs, heart and muscles, the flexibility of the spine, and the double suspension gallop in which all four feet are off the ground twice during each full stride. (like a cheetah versus a gallop like a horse)
9. Very few known. Proper food, exercise, and weight maintenance. They do require dental care if you want them to have healthy teeth.

And there are two important rules for greyhounds:
1. they are a house dog.. sensitive to cold and heat
2. never off leash unless inside of a fence

They are wonderful, devoted, low maintenance pets. Good Luck!!
