Can I take a Xanax before a driving test?
Xanax is an antidepressant/muscle relaxer. Really if your nervous just take like 1 mg to keep you relaxed. A driving test is really simple so don't over think it or you'll probably fail being too nervous lol Good luck! Also it isn't advised to take xanex and drive as I think its considered DUI (had to add this for ya just for when you do start driving) so be careful.

No, especially not if you have never taken it before and dont know how you will react. Unofficially though, if no one ever drove while taking certain meds, there would be a LOT less cars on the road. HOWEVER keep in mind that you can be charged with a dui if 'caught'. Keep in mind, that they are probably going to drug test you since this is a job that involves driving. Unfortunaly, having a script doesnt get you off the hook if the job involves driving. And also keep in mind that if you are in an accident of any kind they can and will drug test you immediatly after. If you test positive, you will be held liable and their insurance wont cover it.

It affects your cognition and reasoning, as well as depressing your central nervous system hints why they are called minor tranquilizers sometimes. The drug can actually affect you more later than earlier too, with the comedown. dont do it. if you MUST MUST drive, wait a little while, 45 mins (max length of time it takes for it to fully kick in and see how you feel). Alprazolam (Xanax is a brand that sold out a while back) can always do a cognitive test, I play the piano, and if I mess up alot then no driving for me. but I dont drive on it if I can help it, too much of a bad idea. You can get a DUI weather your prescribed it or not by the way (which you said you were although you called it xanax and not alprazolam). Anyway just be aware that class of medication is a felony to carry un-prescribed.
