Can I use a t-mobile sim card with a metro pcs phone?

Unknown. While MetroPCS phones (on T-Mob network) use SIMs, it's not known if they are T-mob sims or MetroPCS SIMs, or whether they are locked to MetroPCS sims.

I'd check with T-Mob.

Can I use my metropcs phone in egypt?

Mobiles in Egypt operate on SIM card basis. You will find 3 major carriers in Egypt: Vodafone (red), Mobinil (orange), and Etisalat (green). If your phone has the capability to switch out the SIM card, you can purchase a new SIM card from any one of those 3 networks and use your phone as a prepaid.

However, if coming from the US, most phones in the US are locked to a specific network. You must contact your carrier and have the phone "unlocked" for international use. I believe they charge a high fee for this as well as high fees for using the phone internationally. I knew a woman that was studying in Egypt for one month. She had her blackberry unlocked before she left the States and was able to use it in Egypt.

However, it may be cheaper for you to purchase a new phone when you get here. (Depending on how long you will be staying.) You will find many phone stores offering "tourist specials" on mobiles. Usually this includes the phone, SIM card, and 5 LE worth of credit for usually around 240 LE, which is around $40.00. You can then buy additional credit as needed.

EDIT @ AGAMEMNOM1969: A CDMA phone that is card enabled can be unlocked to operate on the GSM networks.

How can I switch a MetroPCS phone to my Boost Mobile account?

You’ll want to make sure the metro device is unlocked. You’re lucky that metro has a “device unlock” app in its metro folder on the phone. Click the app and select permanant unlock. Once it says it’s complete, you’ll put the boost or whatever sim from wherever in the metro phone, and you’re done.Congrats. You’ve unlocked a metro phone to all CarriersThere are certain limitations that metro puts within the unlock eligibility. Sometimes they make case by case exceptions. If the unlock doesn’t work, call customer service and ask what you need to get it unlocked.

Can I put my MetroPCS SIM card in a T-mobile phone without calling Metro?

MetroPCS still requires linking the device ID (IMEI) with your account before you can get service. This is a policy left over from when MetroPCS still ran on a CDMA-based network underneath their LTE. Much of the billing and rate plan policy infrastructure that was created under those technical constraints is still being used today. I am unsure of current MetroPCS policies on “bring-your-own-device" (BYOD) for all rate plans and accounts, but I do know that they allow a BYOD option for getting service.Call MetroPCS and let them know about your new phone so they can link it to your account. You shouldn't need to get the phone unlocked to use it though… some MetroPCS phones need unlocking to work with T-Mobile SIMs, but not MetroPCS SIMs with T-Mobile phones like you are asking about.

Can you use a Verizon phone with Metro PCS?

Verizon Wireless network is a mixed network CDMA2000 and 4G-LTE[1] .Old Verizon phones work exclusively on CDMA2000 while new phones work on both standards.MetroPCS uses T-Mobile network which is a GSM (2G, 3G) and 4G-LTE network[2] .As for the frequencies used, the only possibility for a Verizon phone to work on a MetroPCS network is when it uses the AWS frequency 1700/2100, the protocol LTE and the Band Number 4, which is still not completely rolled out by T-Mobile.In other words, you may have little chances to make it work. Check with T-Mobile to see if their 1700/2100 frequency already supports LTE in the areas of your interest. This, of course, as long as the Verizon phone is not locked to work only with Verizon network.Footnotes[1] Verizon Wireless - Wikipedia[2] T-Mobile US - Wikipedia
