Can Muscle Milk Benefit The Elderly

Is Muscle Milk good for you, and does it help you gain muscle after a workout?

It's ok for you. It's a protein shake. So it's not KFC. But it's also not a plate full of veg. Will it help you build muscle?Yes and no.Building muscle isn't magic. It doesn't require anything but science. Your body grows muscle to adapt to stimuli.Nutrition + stimuli + time to rest = growthNotice there is no muscle milk in the equation. If your body is getting enough nutrition from other sources then a protein shake will not help you build muscle. However if your not eating enough real food you can SUPPLIMENT real food for a protein shake. Which in that specific case, yes it will help you build muscle.Context of everything. The advertising forgets to mention that.

Proper diet for building lean muscle / losing fat?

So I've lost about 60 pounds since three years ago, but my body still looks terribly out-of-shape.. I've been doing 200-300 pushups, 200 situps and doing lots of cardio, but I'm seeing marginal gains, so I'm wondering if it's my diet that I need to change up..

So far, I've been eating few carbs and high protein.. How should I change my diet?

What are the benefits for protein?

Does drinking protein (whey or Muscle Milk) help repair ligaments?

While whey protein is useful for the repair of tissue, it’s not considered as critical for ligament and tendon repair as other nutrients. Consider more Vitamin C, glucosamine, collagen, curcumin, arginine, and bromelain if you’re trying to recover from a ligament injury. What are the benefits of raw whey protein? Will it digest? Is it good to use raw whey or not?

A few clarifications:Artificial sweeteners have zero calories and are added in percentage of 0.1–0.2% . Therefore there is no reason to think that raw whey is better than sweetened whey.Raw whey digests just like flavoured whey. Some companies are adding enzymes but that is specifically for people who have trouble digesting lactose (or milk). A normal healthy person should have no problem in digesting raw or flavoured whey. Now coming to your question:The biggest benefit raw whey has over others is that it doesn't contain preservatives, colours or flavours. Whey protein is something that a person will consume for longer periods of time, maybe even months or years. It is not like other supplements that you cycle for 10–15 days and go off. Therefore it is important that proteins contain the least amount of additives possible. Here raw whey wins, hands down. However, it does not taste good. If you can stand the taste everyday, good for you. But most likely, you will just buy cocoa and flavour packets and end up mixing at home like most people do. All this is a chore. It's best to buy a protein powder that is preservative-free and also uses natural flavoring. I have used ON and it is naturally flavoured, but it has preservatives and emulsifiers. Right now I'm using ATHLOR. It's new but it's free from any kind of fillers and tastes good. Fits my budget too. Make a choice.Yes it will digest if you have a normal digestive system. If you drink milk regularly then you should have no problem at all.It is perfectly OK to use raw whey. Just weigh the pros and cons in point 1. Most companies (even MB and other indian ones) are selling raw whey at a high price tag. If there is no processing and no additives, then why sell at high prices? It's just increasing margins for that extra 2g of protein.Hope this helps.

Does spirulina help with muscle gain?

Research have shown that spirulina is composed of 66% of protein (compared to only 22% in beef). These proteins are biologically complete, which means they provide all eight essential amino acids (Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophane and Valine) in the proper ratios and 10 of the 12 non essentials (Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Cystine, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Histidine, Proline, Serine, Tyrosine).Super important for muscle gain!A report on the effect of Spirulina supplementation on sportsmen by Milaðius et al. (2004) noted: “Studies have shown that Spirulina supplementation induced a significant increase in exercise performance and fat oxidation. After five days of Spirulina usage, sportsmen felt more bouncy, their sleeping quality improved, fatigue after physical load performance was less, recuperation processes became quicker, and their endurance when performing strength exercises improved.” Read this post to know more about spirulina for athletes. It will also delay muscle fatigue. So if fatigue comes later, you can train harder and increase muscle gain!
