Can Powder Be Worn By Itself

Is it ok to wear setting powder by itself?

it will make your skin look less oily however it ,might block up your pores and could cause spots and break outs, so maybe try a mineral translucent powder as thats not bad for your skin, you can get really cheep ones from elf

Can you wear concealer by itself, or does powder have to be applied over it?

I apply my Garnier Skin Renew Anti Dark Circle Eye Roller Concealer on my under-eye area, and blend it in with my ring finger. Then I apply my Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer anywhere I have blemishes or redness, and blend it in with my index finger. Do I have to apply light powder over it, or can I just wear the concealer by itself? And if I have to wear powder, does it have to be pressed or loose powder? Because I have my Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder I could use, but is powder even required? Thanks for your help. :)

Can foundation be worn by itself?

i wear liquid foundation by itself. i dont like the look powder leaves behind. i also like to get most of my make-up from target, or wal-greens. also rite-aid sells some make-up, but i just found out if you buy a make-up and use and not like it, you can return it. have fun.

Does powder foundation have coverage by itself?

For me, powder foundation has sheer coverage.
If you want more coverage, try liquid foundation.

I used to have lots of acne and here's what I use:
1. Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (works VERY WELL!)
2. Etude House Precious Mineral Bright Fit BB Cream

powder foundation accentuates dry patches on your skin, if you have lots of acne, it might also accentuate them...

so I recommend using a foundation primer , then liquid foundation (they last for a long time!), and then apply mattifying powder or setting powder..

If you want tinted moisturizer, I recommend the Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer one, it works on me.

Do I put mineral powder over liquid foundation or just by itself?

I have only ever used liquid foundation. My mom got my some mineral powder foundation. Do I put it over the liquid foundation or just by itself?

I use liquid foundation mostly to cover the dark rings under my eyes. Concealer doesn't do a great job.

Can I wear a loose powder by itself (without foundation or whatever under it?)?

I want minimal coverage with a matte finish, which is what powder should give me. I'm thinking I want the Clinique Blended Face Powder. I want to wear powder INSTEAD of foundation. Will that work with any powder?

Can you wear translucent powder by itself with nothing else on except eyeshadow and eyeliner?

Start out with a makeup base...if you use foundation, make sure to just dot it on in the problem areas ie; by the nose, under eyes, chin....from what you said it sounds like the color you are using is a bronzer, not a powder. Find a white toned loose powder and apply (lightly) to the bridge of your nose and cheeks. Note, this should not have much color to it. Use a shimmering white tone on your cheekbones, very light! This will highlight your bones and give you that "glowing" look. If you are looking to get a darker complexion, start out using Jergens facial moisturizer. It shows up after a few days of applying it, so you will have no surprise streaks or orange color. Natural is best, and if your friends are telling you that your face doesnt match your neck....they are telling the truth, so stop doing that.

Can I use baking soda instead of baking powder? Why or why not?

Baking soda is just plain sodium bicarbonate. In order for it to do it’s job, it needs an acidic component. The baking soda works to neutralize the acid and this is what causes the leavening. In baking, the usual acidic components include vinegar, yogurt, lemon juice (or other citrus juice), buttermilk, brown sugar, and chocolate (now you know why almost all chocolate chip cookie recipes call for baking soda). When the basic properties of baking soda mix with the acidic properties of one of these ingredients it starts to neutralize creating air bubbles (carbon dioxide). This raises the baked good and also makes it more tender. Baking soda is ideal to be used instead of baking powder if there is an acidic component because it is about 4 times more effective than baking powder. ) Baking soda has an indefinite shelf life. Baking powder, on the other hand, does not.Baking powder is baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) already mixed with an acid (usually cream of tartar). Therefore, baking powder on its own is used in baked goods that do not already contain an acid. It works in the same way baking soda does, by creating air bubbles which cause the batter to rise. If you find yourself without baking soda you can always substitute baking powder for baking soda. This is not true the other way around. But keep in mind that baking soda is much more effective so using more baking powder is needed. To make sure your baking powder is still effective, add about a tsp to a cup of hot water. If it is still good, it will start bubbling quite a bit. If it does not, time to throw it out and get some new.
