My Personal Additional Information
--------------------------------------...
I tried humming...i am good at it...and i can raise and lower my hum and keep it then 4 a extended time...And i tried to sing a little and i thought it sounded better than some of the people in choir in school.

Could just be my luck that i can hum and sing..lol idk
But i think it has to do with the persons voice and other things such as being able to change tone...=)

lol nvm...i tried again and i cant sing...with a little practice mabey....but not currently...but i think it just has to do with my voice....lol i can still hum though

I guess if they have a good voice and hum then they could depending on if its a good hum.

Can someone with a really bad singing voice ever become a good singer?

i absolutely love music. songwriting, instruments, everything. i love to sing too, but unfortunately my singing voice is..suckish. i mean, its not even an average singing voice, its worse. so my question, is there a way for a bad singer to become a good singer? if so, how? i'd give anything to have a good singing voice...

What makes someone a good singer?

I know there's a lot of people who are naturally talented and good at singing. I am not one of those people. I'm taking voice lessons and my teacher says I have almost perfect pitch and that I have a good voice if I would just sing louder. I on the other hand think my voice is annoying. I don't like it at all. I might be able to hit notes fine and stuff but I hate the tone of my voice. I have 2 and a half octives so I guess that's about an average range and I can sing in my chest voice almost all the way up to the upper end of my range. I think I have my whistle register, but it isn't trained so of course it sounds bad when I sing in it. Anyway back to the question. What combination of things makes someone a good singer. What should I focus on to make myself a better singer?

Can I become a singer if I don't have a good voice?

There are some things to considerAlmost everyone hates his/her own voice. In most cases yes. Cause when you talk you listen your voice from coming from your head (closely). But when you record it on something, then play it, it sounds a lot worse than the voice you listen you hear coming from your head. So, your voice may sound like weird when you record it on something. But everybody else who usually listen your voice won’t find it bad as you do. So, you can’t say for sure if a voice is good or bad.The voice is an important thing. But vocal/singing technique is even more important. I am not a singer, but I have seen some people singing good even though they don’t have good voice. Sometimes good singing technique could make your song a lot better. So, train yourself for having a good vocal. A lot of people have good voice, but they can’t sing cause they can’t hold notes properly.Sometimes singing style also matters. If you’re singing ballad. You got to have voice like slow, warm, thin. Robert Plant, Steven Tyler, Klaus Meine, Paul McCartney etc. If you wanna sing metal you gotta have strong powerful voice. Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, Hansi Kürsch etc. If you want to growl then you gotta have harsh voice. Chuck Schuldiner, Mikael Åkerfeldt, Muhammed Suiçmez. So, each singer has his/her own kind of voice according to his/her style. Apart from genres, sometimes good balance of singing could make a song better. For example Ozzy Osborune. I think he really have a weak voice. His singing isn’t that better. But his sung song on Crazy Train was awesome. Cause it had a good rhythm. There are lots of singers who have bad voice. They simply can’t sing or have bad voice. For example Billie Joe Armstrong, Geddy Lee, Bob Dylan, Dave Mustaine etc. But they do sing, don’t they? They’re also famous. So, consider the points I’ve mentioned above you should decide by yourself whether or how could you sing.

I can sing but no one knows?

im very shy and no one has ever heard me sing
i thought i was ok at singing but never did not even my mom has
i love to sing and i want to ask my mom can i go to like a singing school but im afraid and dont want toin-casee she asks me to sing to her frist and i dont want to help

Why do people enjoy singing even when they know they don't sound good?

Because it's fun, bonds people together, and is often done for pure pleasure, not for entertainment purposes. Why do people enjoy singing "Happy Birthday?" Or the fight song at football games? Or the sing-along Handel's Messiahs that are so popular every Christmas? When I was a kid, my mom's (huge, Catholic, rural/agricultural) family would have these huge reunions, and dozens of people of all ages would gather for outdoor barbecues in the summer. After dinner was over and the food was put away, people would start producing instruments: guitars, fiddles, harmonicas, accordians (lots of accordians) etc. If you wanted to play something, and couldn't, you were given a comb covered with wax paper. And we'd play music, and sing. Folk songs, popular songs, whatever. Everyone would sing along together. It sounds really hokey and old-timey, and it kinda was, but this was a really cool tradition that I can see now long predated "movie night" or whatever. People getting together, and singing together, not just to hear the music but actively participate.
