What is 'hahaha' (laughing) in Korean?

Surprise. 하하하 is the equivalent and it’s literally spelled “hahaha”While there are answers saying ㅋㅋ is equivalent to a haha, I believe it is a very general term for various types of laughter depending on the length.ㅋㅋ is close to a chuckle.ㅋㅋㅋㅋ is close to a haha.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ is close to LOL or LMAO.

What does your laugh sound like to you or to others?

What does your laugh sound like to you or to others? There is no one way to express my laughter except that it’s mine and it does get attention. When in the movie theater, I’m usually the first laugh and the loudest. While that embarrasses one of my sisters, it helps my mom enjoy the show more. I tell people not to joke when I’m drinking my protein mix or it ends up spit out on my shirt. Beware! My cousin lived with me for a while and said that I would “cackle” rather than laugh, she also said “…but in a good way.” Of course I laugh many other ways. I snort/chortle when something is not that out loud type of funny. When I think something is totally hilarious, I blast out “HA!” and the dog begins to bark. I can get into giggle fits for incredible lengths of time. Usually when I am feeling giddy. When I’m feeling extra sinister I can do the evil genius laugh that cracks my friends up.I basically have all the laughs that are in the song from Mary Poppins, “I Love To Laugh.”

How does Cantonese language express “shh” (be quiet)?

There’s certainly an interjection in Cantonese equivalent to shh in English, but rarely will you find it in books. The shh interjection doesn’t have tones in Cantonese, and you’re free to extend the length of it just like its English counterpart. However, the Cantonese interjection seems to be pronounced with the mouth a bit more rounded than shh, kind of like when you make the /y/ sound. The difference isn’t that big and it isn’t universal to all Cantonese speakers though, so I think you can say shh exactly the way you do in English. For transcription, I suggest sticking to /ʃ̩/.Like a lot of the interjections in Chinese, we don’t have a proper character for it, which might explain why they were never mentioned in dictionary and textbook. There’s a lot more stuff you don’t see explained in books, unless you’re talking about linguistic papers. Take 嘻 for example, it’s pronounced xī in Mandarin and means “mirthful” or “happy,” and it’s also an interjection for the sound of laughter and giggles. The pronunciation still makes sense if the interjection appears in an idiom or expression, such as 嘻嘻哈哈 (xīxī hāhā), because that’s the way they’re said. But let’s take the same character and use it only for the interjection and let’s say I picked 嘻嘻嘻 in this example. Now, here’s a quick question for you: What do you think 嘻嘻嘻 sounds like according to textbook definition?Answer: Xīxīxī!I kid you not. If we go by the book, we should read them exactly like xīxīxī and that’s supposed to be how people laugh (not really). For people who haven’t heard of pinyin, it means you’re laughing like shi shi shi. From what I’ve gathered, the actual pronunciation is either /hi/ or /xi/ (pinyin: hi), because there’s just no way how anyone can laugh like /ɕi/ (pinyin: xi)….By the way, did you know 嘖 (interjection) in Cantonese and Mandarin is an alveolar click? It’s actually not zé.

What do guys think about girls with weird laughs?

I have a really loud obnoxious laugh. I hate it. I can't help it. I can't control it. it just sort of comes out and takes over. I know it's ugly. it's just not going anywhere :(
I don't want this to ever effect my chances of having a boyfriend but there's nothing I can do to stop it and it seems like the more I try to hold it in the worse it gets.

I asked this here because I know there are a lot of guys here.

Why is my laugh so disgusting and ugly?

Just as actors, who play different roles in a lifetime, can change their voices and delivery, with practice, so can you. This is done all the time by those who really wish to learn the skill and take the time to practice. And you’ll be ever so much happier knowing you made a positive difference in your life and future.A voice coach can help.

How do people laugh online in Chinese characters?

哈哈哈(haha) is most common of course, 呵呵(more mild amusement)嘿嘿(sheepish laugh) 嘻嘻(giggle)to add to the list, in taiwan we have bopomofo, so ㄎㄎㄎ is also a thing (pronounce like you would a K as in “kuh” sound)Also at least among younger kids (born after 1980) we also type XDDDDD and wwwwww (笑い warau means to laugh/smile in japanese)EDIT:I have been told呵呵,at least in China is actually a sarcastic laugh that tends to imply contempt. Unsure if this is recent slang that I've been unaware of due to moving to the US, or if it's a different usage between Taiwan and China. Either way proceed with caution and maybe stick to the other ones.

How do people type laughter (like "haha" for English) in other languages such as Japanese or French?

Let me just rant a little about how obnoxious Brazilians can be in the digital world when it comes to expressing laughter.First, there’s huahua and it’s variations: hueush, huahsh, hiauis, heieus, huious and so on. Come on! Who laughs like that in real life? All of the variations make me think of horses chocking on grass. Then there are the ones who laugh like this: rsrs. Which is completely ridiculous and makes the person sound like a) they’re a very fake, snobbish woman or; b) like they’re having a seizure. There’s also spolska and variations like oakalp, ksoakapa, which is completely nonsensical and makes the person seem like a very drunk guy trying to speak Polish for the first time in their life. While having a seizure. And last, but not least, there’s the infamous kkk, or its big brother KKK. Not only does it flood my subconscious with very chilly references to the Ku Klux Klan every fucking time, but it also makes me feel disrespected. Why? Well, I feel that the other ridiculous ways of expressing laughter Brazilians come up with at least imply a little bit of effort. The person usually has to type them using both hands. When someone laughs at something I said with a simple string of “kks” I seriously feel like they are taking a dump or masturbating and couldn’t care less about what I said, so they just pressed “k” on their phone - with one single hand - to make me feel better about myself. I hate “kkk” with all my being.Oh! The other thing I hate is that Brazilians feel the need to associate the level of excitement they are feeling at reading something with elongated written laughter. So it’s very common to just be chilling on WhatsApp with your friends and then out of nowhere your screen is filled with something like “rsrsrsrsrsrsrsrs”, or “EHAUHSUHAEASUHA”, or “KSOPDKASOPDKA”, or “KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK” and it’s just SO unnecessary.A simple haha, lol or rofl would’ve sufficed. As for me, I follow a simple philosophy:If I found it funny: haha;If it was really funny: hahaha or lol;If it made me cry laughing: rofl; And if I don’t care and want you to stop talking to me immediately, but I don’t want to tell you that so as not to hurt your feelings, or if I simply don’t like you and want you to die a very painful death, I simply send a smiley face. It’s simple, elegant and effective.:)

How would you describe your laugh? Do you "guffaw," or simply snicker? What makes your laugh unique? Would you change your laugh if you could?

Okay, this is a question which my friends would answer better, but yes, this is one of my 'quirks' which I have been told about most often. I laugh a lot, I laugh at pretty much everything! And sometimes, when I start laughing, I don't stop -- I can't stop! I have what you would call a 'big, booming' laugh, which by different people has been described as 'hearty', 'memorable' and 'un-ladylike' :DI have some interesting incidents which clearly stand out in my memory. When I was in 11th-12th grade, I attended coaching, where we would go by bus (all people on the bus were from our coaching). I would laugh a lot as usual, and one day, someone told me something funny, I laughed, and immediately some 10-15 boys from the back of the bus started laughing along with me (impersonating me!). It was really embarrassing, for like a moment, then I laughed with them!!Later, one of those guys messaged me on Facebook, and said "I still remember your laugh, we could hear it from the 3rd floor, when you were still downstairs". I took it as a compliment :PIn college, my laugh traveled hallways. A girl who lived downstairs once said to me "There's something about your laugh that makes me happy whenever I'm depressed, it seems so free and natural" (paraphrase). I was really touched :)Recently, May Emma heard me laughing 'in-full-form' and she started laughing too, saying "your laugh is so unusual!!!", and hearing her laugh, I continued laughing, and this was a vicious cycle till like 10 real minutes!!! People must've thought we were mad !! These are some I remember, and even though my laugh isn't the 'best' one around, I still feel good having something that distinguishes me! :)
