How can I fix the 'Turn on documents in settings>installed apps first' problem in an Android phone?

It's a bug in miui which keeps disabling documents app “which is the main storage framework and required for providing SD card permission” miui keeps it disabled so that only it's stock file explorer would work.So every single time you've to go into installed apps , scroll till documents and enable it.

Can anyone tell me how to send .tif attachments in email, without getting 'can't send message error'?

I suspect the problem may be related to the size of your files. Yahoo mail only allows attachments of up to 10 MB, but since all mail providers "blow up" attachments during transfer, you can actually only send close to 7.5MB.

Several workarounds...

Get a free account with Zshare: http://www.zshare.net/ - it can store up to 500 MB, videos, audio, pictures, flash files, free/ ad financed. Once you uploaded your file, you can mail the link to your contact.

Or try one of the services below (not all of them are free):

Why doesn't WhatsApp allow us to send PDF/DOC files?

Disclaimer: The answer might not be the exact reason behind WhatsApp not supporting document files while the others do. It's based on my understanding of WhatsApp's message sending mechanisms. Why doesn't WhatsApp allow us to send PDF and other document files?   The answer to this question might be the storage concern and also the effectiveness of the delivery mechanism.I'll first explain the WhatsApp's delivering mechanism. When you send an image or video, it gets stored on the server. A BASE64 thumbnail preview of the image/video is sent as a message to the recipient and once the message is downloaded to the device, the image/video is still available in the server for sometime before it gets removed. To your question:  Imagine of you are sending a document file either PDF or as .doc. First it has to be read ( like opening the file.) in order  to generate a thumbnail preview.  Here comes the problem, the encoding mechanism used by the device that created the document may differ from the WhatsApp server and also by the recipient device. So its necessary to follow a universal standard. It's not likely to be a permenant solution since Chinese, Japanese and arabic languages might use different encoding mechanisms depending upon the users need.Solution:     You can use some work arounds like changing the file format to .jpg to send files or you can use some third part applications like  WhatsTools - https://play.google.com/store/ap... which is my favorite application since it has a good intuitive user interface and gets the job done with out any hassles.

Where are CamScanner images and PDFs saved on Android mobile?

It depends on the location where you have installed your Camscanner App.Generally apps like these ,create a folder with the same name as that of the app's name and all related files are present inside that folder. So first, check where your app has been installed (Internal/External Storage) . To check it, go to settings -> applications-> camscanner and check where it has been installed.Go to the corresponding storage where it has been installed in you file managerThere you will see a folder named “Camscanner” will be created where all the files and pdfs related to it will be stored.I hope this will help you.

Why can't I open a downloaded PDF file on my mobile?

Download any PDF Reader app from Google Play Store and set it as the default app for opening PDF Document Files. Sometimes Google Chrome or Stock Browser does not allow to open the files even after setting the default apps.In that case, head towards File Manager App and choose your PDF file to open. If that does not work too, open the PDF Reader App you had installed, and locate the downloaded PDF file from the app’s browser. :)In case you want to check out Best of All PDF Reader & Scanner Apps, you can have a look here.

What are TCP, UDP, Proxy, port, local host, ip address?

TCP and UDP are simply put two ways of sending data from one place to another.
TCP ensures that the data you get is always right, so it does a lot of checks for you. That makes TCP connections a bit slow.
UDP tried to make the data reach you as fast as possible. It sometimes makes small mistakes because of being in such a hurry
I would suggest that if you are downloading text documents like ebooks etc. use TCP
If you are listening to songs, use UDP (you will not even notice the difference of sloppy delivery)

Proxy (Server) is a large computer that does the surfing for you. So assume that you want to go to yahoo.com, yahoo will find it very hard to handle all the people who want to see yahoo.com at the same time. A proxy server can then visit it for say 100 people and next time, if you ask for yahoo.com, it can send you the page all by itself (so yahoo is not overloaded) and you think the service is faster.

IP address is a way all the computers connected in the internet identify themselves. Each computer is given 1 unique IP address (much like we all have postal addresses). So if you know the IP address of each computer, its easier to reach that computer, rather than meander arounding asking people whether they know where this computer is connected. An IP address looks like 192.168.12.234

Port is like an electric socket at your home. Assume that you hv two TVs at your place, and both are tuned to different channels. So even if the channels knew that they are broadcasting the stuff to the same house (or IP address), they know that eventually it goes to two different sockets (or ports). Your computer has one IP address, but multiple ports. These port are numbers like 80, 3012 etc

I am simplifying all these terms for you to understand. I will recommend that you talk to your ISP or a local "computer-expert" to help you identify the exact proxy, IP address, port etc for you.

All the best!
