Cat Wont Move Drink Or Eat

Why won't my cat eat, drink, or move?

My cat Pixie is about 2 years old and has always been extremely healthy and active. Suddenly, she won't eat, drink, or leave this tiny corner of my room. She hasn't gone to the litter box and peed in my room (she's never used anything but her box). When she moves it's with a wobble. I brought her to the bathroom with me while I got ready (she always sits in the windowsill with me) and she leaped down and didn't land on her feet, she kinda landed and flopped. I checked her out for injuries, nothing seems to hurt specifically. I plan on taking her to the vet tomorrow after school if she hasn't eaten or drank anything by then. This has been going on for two days now and I'm worried sick. Has anyone experienced this before?
Right before all this started I bought her a new harness (I've taken it off since then). It wasn't tight and she didn't have it on long, but she seemed extremely uncomfortable in it so I ditched it. She was fine with her old harness. My sister's dog also moved in, but she use to live with us and they got along just fine, though it's been 6 months without the dog.

My cat won't eat/drink or move?

totally take her to a vet, she is old, but animals generally go away and find a secluded place to die. she would have used her last ounce of energy to fight you off after you picked her up if she thought she was dying.

she may have ingested some rat poison or a plant that didnt agree with her while you were away, and being old it could have taken a greater effect on her than a younger cat. it could be a case of just getting some fluids into her at the vets or getting her stomach pumped. although considering her age and the possibilty she may be ready to pass on, have it in mind that taking her to the vets, even if you decide to put her down, is the kindest thing you can do. having her carry on and suffer is far more cruel than making a decision to end it for her, no matter how hard it seems.

My cat won't move, eat, drink or meow !! :(?

Check the litter box. Has she been able to urinate and defecate? If she is not eating or drinking, there is something wrong, seriously wrong with her. She may have eaten string or yarn, or eaten a plant that is toxic to her, or have some injury that you can't see, or she may have bladder or liver issues (which can happen to young cats), and she needs some expert care immediately.
Is she shedding more than usual? Do her gums seem light and dry? She may be getting dehydrated. Please don't wait, but take her to your vet or to an emergency clinic as soon as possible.
It's never to early to get professional intervention, but it is often too late by the time people take their cats to the vet.

My cat won't move; not even to eat or drink. She is still breathing, and conscious, and cries sometimes. She's old, but has seemed healthy before. What is wrong with her?

She’s dying. We had a cat 15 yrs. old who literally grieved for my dog Josey as they were 14 year housemates and we literally adopted them the same weekend from the same shelter, they came home from their spays, sniffed each other, (we took them directly to the Vets to get their spays) and surmised “OH! we must be sisters!” They still had the smell of the shelter on them. When Windy was grieving, I went in one night to check on her, clean her litter box, change her food, I got down on the floor, stroked her gently, petted her, she meowed as if to say “I know you’re trying but I’m just tired.” She gets up, walks across under the desk and that’s where I found her gone the next morning. I called my son, she was his, he’d moved out and bought a house, he came and buried her. So sad. I will never forget that. I’m just glad I got down with her and tried to console her. She was a very independent cat. So glad she told me “goodbye.”When you have an animal so weak and acting like that, their organs are shutting down. Please take her and do the humane thing. I’m going to venture a guess and say she’s eaten up with some sort of cancer. I had my Rossi, cat, for 17 years years ago and when he started going, I took him in with my 11 yr old son at the time and she goes “You should have brought him in and put him down a month ago.” I saw his little spirit go up on the way home. When I put Josey down, Beagle-Walker hound, my vet didn’t even charge me for Josey’s. It just about killed me. I collapsed. Josey quit eating little bits of chick nuggets on a Monday, Wed, stopped sips of water, Fri, she was just hanging on for me. I told my Ex “it’s time. I can’t let her go during the night w/o me awake with her.” He drove us.

My cat is sick, won't eat, drink or move. Any idea what's wrong?

Take him to a different vet.

I'd suspect a fall that either broke the jaw, cracked a tooth or several teeth down to the root causing extreme agony, or snapped part of the root loose at the bone line. If your vet didn't do an X-ray he's not doing his job.

Your cat is in pain. You know he can't eat. The current vet offers no help so it's time to get a second opinion.

Warm some meat baby food (make sure it contains no inion) for 10 seconds in the microwave, test it with a finger, rub a little on the gum on his 'good' side of the mouth. See if he'll lick it off your finger and feed him at least half the bottle. It goes down easier than syringed cat food. If you do syringe him, do it 1/3 tsp at a time, don't choke him. Don't do it fast, and don't touch his sore side. He needs to get food and fluids in him. A tablespoon of food a day is enough to maintain him without having organ problems due to sudden food cut off. I'd try to get at least a tablespoon of water in him as well, semi-warm so it doesn't shock any cracked tooth. He may also need fluids put under the skin at his neck, by a vet to keep him hydrated.

Get him in tomorrow, I'd consider this an emergency since he's stopped eating. His not moving means it's very serious.

My cat wont move, eat, drink and keeps drooling. HELP!?

Emergency vet.

A couple of things come to mind that I've seen over the years with my own cats.

Cat had a stroke

Cat ate/chewed something toxic.... any house plants?

Cat chewed an electrical cord and zapped himself.

In either instance, without immediate treatment you may not have a cat by tomorrow.

Put your hand under his belly -- if he feels considerably warmer than usual, you'll need to check electric cords, but first you need to put him on a cold pack and get him to the vet..... if he zapped himself he could be cooking from the inside...... my big guy did that once and between an ice pack and a run to the emergency vet he ended up being okay.... but it was scary.

If he's had a stroke, or is poisoned, that too can be recovered from with immediate treatment.

If your cat hasn't moved all day -- that means he's been in distress all day.....

You need the emergency vet.

Why won't my cat eat or move?

you should grant hime time, it somewhat is a huge adjustment for the type of small animal. you additionally can desire to close off some rooms so the homestead dosn't experience so vast and formidable on your cat, that could make him experience somewhat extra mushy in his new atmosphere. do no longer hardship however while he's hungry he will consume, cats wont starve themselves while there is meals around, this is not any longer of their nature. good success!

My cat wont eat or drink and wont really move. whats going on?

my cat is normally always walking and running around and wanting outside and eating alot. all of a sudden she just lays in one spot and doesnt want outside or wants to move. every time i pick her up or move her she hisses and grawls at me. she wouldnt drink milk i put infront of her or eat anything. i dont understand what is going on. never seen a cat act like this before.

Noticed my cat won't move much, can't meow or drink/eat anything. Advice?

Immediately take her to the vet the sooner the better. My cat suffers from something similar and it's bad that you keep her home. 1 day more and my cat would have passed away if we hadn't taken her to see the vet. I don't know about your cat but mine refused to eat/drink and wasn't able to pee. She had something blocking etc, etc. Does your cat pee ? And when you pick her up, is she in pain (specifically more to the back side) ?

Hope this has helped and I hope that she heals,
Thank.

My cat won't eat or drink anything. She doesn't move/walk around much either.?

zoey
i do agree with everyone else...but here are a couple more questions to consider....is your cat old?, has she been sick lately or in touch with other sick animals? Could she possibly be pregnant and ready to deliver?

if none of these apply or---even if they do...i agree that you should take her to a vet asap...so for the weekend it would be an emergency vet.

good luck :)
