College Board Or College Road

I can't pay for college?

I'm a student with nearly a 4.0 (450 kids in my class btw), bunches of AP and honors classes, four varsity sports and captain on a couple of them, and I love being the trumpet section leader at my school's band. However, I'm a bit depressed, because despite all of this hard work, I can't afford college at all, and I want to become a doctor.

1.) My parents have $0 for my college education.
2.) My family has terrible, terrible credit. My mom could never pay back a Parent Plus loan. I highly doubt I'll get a private loan. I have no cosigner.
3.) I've applied to many schools, and the cheapest one (with the exception of a local CC) will leave me with $19,000 in student loans per year. I got an amazing scholarship to a very expensive private school, but that brings the cost back down to a public university.
4) Commuting isn't an option. No place to park a third car, and road expenses would be nearly the same as room and board.

Besides going to a CC, what are my options? CC credit is a joke and medical schools don't like that. I'd do ANYTHING before going to a CC. I dread taking out private loans. I'm so hungry to learn, and I'm scared to think that I'll have to set back something as important as college for possibly many years.

*Before you begin a response with the traditional "Fill out the FAFSA", all of my FAFSA options have been exhausted. I didn't get a pell grant either. My house has five people in it with a gross income of $60,000. However, my dad is a truck driver and a HUGE sum of his salary goes to road expenses. We live on about $40,000.

Yes. You can file a complaint. I don't know if room tempature would be considered a reason to nullify your score. Contact them

How should I associate my College Board account to my AP exams as a homeschooled student? Are my name and email enough?

As a homeschooled student, your scores are still your scores. Name and email are enough, but you’re going to need to fill out the profile if you want to apply to colleges.Having just been through this process with my daughter I can tell you that your best bet in applying to colleges is to quantify your homeschool resume on the Common Ap (or whatever application process you use) by listing materials used, dates, tutors and class descriptions. One mistake most homeschoolers make, is to provide a high school transcript with a list of grades and class names, but no descriptions or explanations of deviances from the norm. If you are homeschooled, you have to quantify what you did in more detail than the local public high school whose classes are defined by the state and federal statutes. If you take any APs, those grades are linked to anything else you did with College Board, so you don’t have to do anything special to ‘link’ the accounts. Whatever you do, DON’T try to game the system by opening up two accounts. It will come back to bite you. You can decide which scores to report to schools down the road.

Is it necessary to send SAT scores through collegeboard to Singapore universities like NUS, NTU and SUTD or I can send scanned copy by email or post?

It depends. If they are going to make decision based on your sat and sat subjective tests score, then you should send it through College board. For NUS and NTU, they make decision after your board results. So, you can upload scanned documents. However, for SUTD they make decision based on your sat subjective tests. So, you should send it through college board. Once the decision is made, they will ask you to send certified copies through post.

Do the practice exams in the college board SAT Blue Book 2nd Edition follow a cumulative order of getting harder and harder as the test number increases?

Speaking from experience, the tests have not increased in difficulty. I have sat for most exams in 2014 and 2015 and from what I've seen, the questions are reasonably similar. There may be a few tricky vocabulary words, grammar concepts, or obfuscated math problems, but the test remains pretty similar to its earlier iterations. My thought is that you are either not devoting enough time to learning from your mistakes, or you are not taking your weaknesses and delving deeply enough into them. If you are ever confused or lost on a problem, you need to spend the time dissecting why or how you missed it and then try multiple variations of the same problem so that you can prepare for its various formats.Once you're at a 2100, the road to higher scores is long and arduous. If you do not put in the right type of effort, you may not see the desired results.
