Computer People Out There/

Any technical computer people out there?

You got this for Christmas in the year 2017??
Best I could tell, that software was designed for Windows 95 and was not updated to work on XP.

BTW, why in the world are you using XP anyway. Microsoft stopped supporting XP back in 2014. And really Xp has been out of date since 2011

Why do people hack into others' computers and infect them with viruses?

First of all Hacking is not a bad thing.

Ethical Reason:
Hacking a computer is regularly done in many companies where they hack the computer and based on vulnerability(loop holes in a computer) found by them they build the firewall. Its done completely for Ethical reasons. For example the windows security updates they update regulary.Even Microsoft has hired hackers for this.

Un Ethical Reason:
In ur case if some one is hacking some one else computer there are several reasons...

1.To steal data.
2.To show themselves that they can do anything on ur computer without ur permission.
3.Due to enemity.Feeling Happy when some one else feels sad.
4.Spreading viruses and worms.some anti virus companines they spread the virus and they sell anti-virus for that.(Marketing purpose).
5.Jus playing with some else system to create fear...

I know a bit of hacking but I have never hacked any system except for testing reasons..

Is there a way to stop people who use my computer from logging out of my YouTube account and block them from commenting?

change your youtube password, change your computer password.

How many people out there regard their personal computer data as a part of self and is it normal, psychologically?

It looks like your backup policy failed, right? You do have a backup policy, right? You should move on, I had a similar situation a few years ago, I had all my personal data since the ages of the floppy disks, and I had been transferring it from media to media for more than a few years, and I built for me a huge LVM (think RAID on steroids) comprised of 4 drives, and in a week two of the drives failed me, it took me a month to dismantle the LVM volume and get 90 percent of my data back, then one 2TB drive which had no been backed up yet was dropped to the floor by my kid, poof, there goes my sanity, I spent the next month or two highly depressed, and some anxiety and depression still remains, and let me tell you, it's not healthy, I learnt a lesson that day, I ignore the storage media, and the computers the data is on, I just backup the really important data and everything I can download again or get it from somewhere is listed and ignored, because hard drive prices went down, but also quality, they used to last up to 10 years before the monstrous drives of today, now, I just don't “pre-ocupy” my mind, I just try to have the data under control and not worry too much, I know , it hurts, but remember, videos and pictures, perhaps personal recordings are important, software and apps are not, movies are not, and you have the cloud also, as a third backup, good luck, don't cry over lost data, is not logical, but yes, it felt like losing a part of my brain, and it's awful, some people, on the other hand, they just go by with their lives not caring about data, I fix computers for living, and I always ask before erasing anything, and a few times a month somebody says to me “wipe it all, I don't care”

How many people out there have studied Computer Science with commerce & no computer backround and succeeded?

I don’t have a commerce background. But I think if you have no background in computers studying computer science is a good way to get one.Be warned though, Computer science is about maths not about computers. Computers are some of the tools and products produced from computer science but not the subject of computer science. Computation is. In this sense it is an ideal starting point. No computer background required. It’s similar to if you had an interest in Engineering and no background in it. So then you decide to learn physics to find an entry point into Engineering. Perfectly valid, as is Computer Science to gain an entry into Computing. There are other entry points too but computer science is a good one if you like maths.
