Critique This Male Vocalist

Can anyone critique the closing paragraph of my paper about Ronald Reagan?

I gotta say that is kinda slanted. Yes Reagan had many mis-steps but as a person who lived through his presidency a lot of people gave him a lot of credit for the 4 years that Jimmy Carter set up for him. America was in a bad recession, double digit inflation and the failed rescue of the hostages in Iran. When Reagan took office a lot of people had high hopes and 4 years later he was seen by many as delivering on those promises. The economy was beginning to thrive and Reagan easily coasted to another presidential victory and 4 more years of a good growing economy.

Now let me state here that I was no fan of Reagan, then or now...but I just had to write and say that I think perhaps you need a bit more balance in your paper.

Who has the best vocals in BTS?

First of all, let's be honest -BTS are not vocal legends and that is a fact. However, 6/7 have nice singing voices (only Yoongi is f up with singing voice, sorry baby bias but it's fact). Now I feel like I have to mention this-I am not expert, I don't make music or sing but I use to play piano for 15 years so I have decent hearing still my opinion is an opinion of any regular person.First, of all let's split them in few categoriestechniqueThe best vocal technique is IMO Jin's. Could be that he spent more time with vocal coach due to the fact that he was the weakest member of the band when they started. He is the only member that actually breathes while he is singing. The weakest technique is on either Tae or Jimin. Both of them are on their way to ruin their vocals. Also, the problem is in BH-baritone like Tae should stay in low notes as much as he can.ColorIMO Jimin has the most beautiful color. There is sweetness in his voice. Though tenor as Junkook Jimin has something softer. When I first heard BTS ever it was at my friend's house and I give comment "wait is that boy or a girl" when I heard him. That's sweetness in his voice. Jin's color is my least favorite. He sounds like a traditional singer and that does not vibe with me.RangeTaehyung has the largest range out of them. He can sing low notes and go deep and he can sing high notes and falsetto. Lowest range is either Jin or Jimin but Jimin can hit high notes or cower up with falsetto so maybe Jin.StabilityIt's JK. He is clear and stable even when he is performing live and dances in mid-time. Jimin is least stable live.OverallJunkook is the main vocal with the reason. He blends with all 3 vocalists, but at the same time, he is the most stable member. Very nice color. A sweet voice that he has is made for ballads but he has power and tempo in his voice so he sings fast and energetic songs too. He made trough which notes but covering them up with falsetto. Overall he is the best vocalist out of 7.Fun fact: my favorite vocal color is actually Joon's that voice is like a hybrid of Jay Park and The Weeknd and i think his voice is so hot.

Why are rock 'n' roll bands made up mostly of males?

Very interesting question.

Rock bands usually start as local bands. They're a completely different culture from pop music, which is often assembled by producers.

Now, at the local level, there are a ton of female musicians. I'd say that in my city, a third of the local musicians are women. That's not just singers - that's guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, drummers.

You tend lose the women when you make the transition from "local" to "national."

That's probably because making that transition means spending a couple years touring - being constantly, ridiculously broke, writing a song called "Can We Sleep On Your Couch," (the Lumineers once slept on one of my friend's couches), visiting all the dirtiest motels in the country, meeting all the most hopeless drunks in the U.S.A.

Sometimes men are kept going by the fact that they often get a lot of sex from random women.

Most women simply don't want to spend two years of their life that way. For whatever reason, it's just not for them.

Is Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy worth the money for singing lessons?

How can you compare Ken Tamplin with these other vocal coachesIf you search Ken Tamplin's name on Wikipedia, you will see he has 40albums out. While these other vocal coaches have zero.Ken has toured on some of the biggest stages in the world for 30 yearsThese other vocal coaches - none.Ken has studied under some of the world's greatest vocal coaches for 30 years. These other vocal coaches, basically none.Ken has performed hundreds of songs in film and TV, look him up on IMDb.These other vocal coaches - none. Can has worked with some of the greatest music producers in the worldaccording to his bio. Simply Google it and you will see. These other vocal coaches - none.So let me get this straight. He can sing for some of the worldsgreatest music producers, has 40 of his own albums out, has toured theworld for 30 years, studied under some of the worlds greatest vocalcoaches, has around 400 vocal l demonstrations on YouTube with 30million views where again these other vocal coaches have none, hisstudents also sing amazing, these other vocal coaches show no studentssinging, and you're going to compare this?Something fishy responses indeed.

Is James Brown's song "It's a man's world" sexist?

I really hate this song because it attributes all of these past successes to men, but of course it wouldn't mean anything without a woman- can we get some elaboration here? Nope, they just keep repeating "But it would be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl." I cannot stand when young men and women sing this song on singing competitions (see American Idol, The Voice and the X Factor) because of how outdated and sexist it is. I would love to get some different perspectives on this song- maybe its not actually sexist and there's a story behind it- I'd love to hear what you have to say!

Has anyone analyzed Dimash Kudaibergen's vocal range?

There is a YouTube video exhibiting his vocal grandeur here.I have to say that he is an incredibly trained vocalist with vocal capability similar to Vitas (Russian singer). While he can reach low notes quite low up to F2, a note quite low for a tenor, with quite ease,His belt is greater, can go up to the amazing B5, the notes even not many soprano can nail, and he can darken his belting voice up to E5, resulting in a thick operatic powerhouse vocal,And his head voice is even more incredible, able to reach up to E♭ (as seen in his performance of Opera 2, 1 note higher than Vitas’ version of the song), and soaring up to F6,And finally able to reach the whistled note G♯7, the highest whistle note shared by the legendary vocalist Mariah Carey!PS : Dimash Kudaibergen is an amazing Kazakhstan’s singer discovered at Singer 2017, a Chinese singing competition program similar to the popular South Korean reality show I Am a Singer.PS : Wow, I just know about him the moment you mentioned him and I’m so grateful for it, thanks!EDIT : The video above has been deleted, so here is the new one, enjoy!

Chyi Yu covered the song on her 1988 album Whoever Finds This, I Love You

Why is Andrea Bocelli not seen positively among some opera circles?

I think of the "Popera" stars out there (Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman, Susan Boyle, etc.), Andrea Bocelli is probably the more "accepted" in the traditional classical world, at least as far as I remember from when I was in college and visiting conservatories. At the very least, in his early career, he sang classical music, which is more than, say, Susan Boyle, can say, and I don't think many will deny he has at least some talent.A lot of the frustration isn't with Bocelli himself but with the public's labeling of "operatic pop" as the same thing as opera, even though it's far less technically challenging than standard classical singing. When the public labels the likes of Andrea Bocelli (or worse, Sarah Brightman) as the "greatest opera singer of all time," singers who are far more skilled and receive less attention understandably get annoyed. When you've spent thousands of hours perfecting your instrument, struggle to get even low-paying gigs, and are constantly being compared to technically mediocre performers who sing less challenging stuff, but are better than you at marketing (and have altered their style to fit a mold more familiar to people who listen to pop all day), it's understandable why one might be a little bitter. This isn't just a thing with operatic pop though. Classical singers are a kind of vicious lot in general. You'll find people out there who'll tell you that Placido Domingo and Renee Fleming suck and don't deserve their success. It's just kind of how it is in a profession that inherently selects for people who think their voices are so beautiful that other people will want to give them money to hear them. There will never be any shortage of singers criticizing other singers.
