Daycare Requirements In California Do You Need Higher Education Other Than Highschool

Does California pay parents to home-school their children?

No, there are not.

However, you should have your friend carefully review their financial situation. Often, two incomes are not as beneficial as you think.

Does the second income put the family in a higher tax bracket?

Does she need to spend money on long commutes to/from work? If she stayed home, would they be able to do without a second vehicle or, atleast, use it less?

Does she spend part of her income on work attire that would not be necessary as a stay at home parent?

Does she spend part of her income on daily lunches, and/or does the family have fast food more often because of the evening rush?

Childcare is often the biggy-when you deduct all of the prior from the net, childcare usually breaks you even, give or take.

What are the requirements to work at a daycare?

http://nrckids.org/STATES/states.htm

that is a site for all 50 states licensing regulations. find your state and see what you need. i'm sure you have to be 18, high school graduate, and a certain amount of credits to be a teacher. less for a teacher assistant.

you must enjoy working with children. if you're doing this just for the money it will show and you probably won't like the job. you need to have a good sense of humor, be prepared everyday for class and be in class everyday. day cares can not have teachers who call out a lot. they need teachers who are committed to the job and their class.

you'll probably have to be cpr/first aid trained, physical, cps background check and possibly hepatitis shots,

Requirements to work at Head Start and other child care facilities?

I looked up the child care regs for New York and couldn't find exactly what you are looking for, so I'll share what the requirements are in PA. Here, you would need to be at least 18 with a high school diploma and documented hours of experience working with children. It sounds like your tech school hours would meet this requirement, although in PA you need at least 1500 hours to be left alone with the children. Head Start is leaning toward college degrees (Bachelors) for teacher and lead teacher positions, and the program I work at requires a minimum of a CDA or an Associates degree (2 year) for an assistant teacher position. Did you complete a CDA at your tech school? If not, you will eventually want to do at least that. However, with your current experience and your high school diploma, I would think you would be employable. It should be really easy to find out for sure. Call some programs in your area and just ask what their requirements are for employment at their facility. They should be happy to share that information with you. Here is a link to help you find Head Start in your area: http://eclkc.ohs.acf.hhs.gov/hslc/HeadSt... To find other early childhood programs in your area, do a search for "preschool your city new york", or "day care your city new york". You should be able to locate a lot of programs this way. You may want to start volunteering a little time in a couple that are convenient to you to "get your foot in the door!" I think that if you enjoy this field and want to stick with it, you are going to find that you will want to go on with your education. A higher degree will get you a better paying position in a higher quality program. I wish you the best of luck in your search. I hope you find that you love it as much as I do!

Are children really learning social skills in school?

First, let me address the common statement of "When homeschoolers return to a regular school they seem a bit akward and have a harder time making friends." This is a statment true of any kid going into a new school , where they don't know other kids but the other kids have been together since kindergarden. Any kid will be nervous going into a totally new enviroment and will need time to find thier way. Add in that often homeschoolers may be ahead scholastically and are coming from an enviroment where they were not expected to "follow the crowd" and were encouraged to be an individual and you can see why it may take them a bit of time to adjust.

Now for the generalization about homeschoolers not socializing as much as the peers who are in school all day. A classroom in modern America generally has very little time or room for kids to socialize. Days are filled with the increased work loads needed to prep kids for standardized testing. Recess in most cases has shrunk to next to nothing, so that opportunity is gone. Classes are so large that teachers must try to maintain levels of control that we did not have when we attended school, so even the occassional working as a group is vanishing from the lower grades. So most kids get the majority of thier socialization time on their way to or from school or in extracurriular activities. Homeschool kids, in reality, have far more opportunities to socialize as our schedules allow for more activities, field trips and fun than most kids in the public school. Why? Because once our kids finish thier work, it's done. No homework. So we can do lots of activities, have dinner with the family, and still meet our educational goals without 2-4 hours of homework a night. It makes a big difference!

Vilolent autism in my daycare..?

First of all in most states it is illegal to have 4yr olds in a two year class, because of weight/size difference. the owner is certainly setting herself up for a hugh lawsuit. the twin's mom needs to find a daycare which has a high ratio of teachers per students to handle shuch children. The daycare owner should be required to have more help and to have the children in classes of their own age groups. either the licensing board is unaware that there are autistic children in the group or are ignorant in caring for autistic children, My brother is in high school and the school system pays for him to have a seperate/personal aid for entire day.
*The parent can get free help and daycare through the school board for their county/state. each state is different. some much better than others.
* Where to find help: @ age (4) there should be a county orginization or office of Early Childhood Intervention/develpoment. This can usually be found by contacting the superintendant of schools in their county. Each school system shound have an ESE (Exceptial Student Education) program. Each child is then tracked and supported through their years of education. The child will receive specialized care to help them be all they can. As the child grows the school system, teachers, proffessionals, and parents will be required to develop an IEP (Individual Education Plan for the child). The IEP recognizes the needs of each child and develops an effective educational plan. By age (4), the children should be receiving speech therapy as well as other specialized training. Here is the best part, the school or county is responsible for providing the tools for the child's IEP such as an individual aid. since the child has the right to be mainstreamed. Thus, the aid would provide attention at whatever daycare or school is agreeded upon.
Only though intervention and early childhood education will autism be successfully improved.

Daycare center, would you hire a 17 year old?

I'm seventeen years old, and I've been working off and on as a Nanny. The couple I was sitting for recently were able to rearrange their work schedules to be able to be home with their children. (They have very young children, so they hated not being able to be home with them, themselves.) I was hoping to find a job at a local daycare, however, being only 17, I wasn't sure if any daycare would consider me, not being 18 and without any formal training. Does anyone know (perhaps from experience) if a daycare would be willing to hire me?

Do you get expelled from high school for being pregnant?

I think whoever got her pregnant would be in more trouble, dependant on their age. If the guy is over 18, then that could be classed as statutory rape. As far as being expelled from school, i dont think they can do that under grounds of discrimination, however, it all depends on school policy. If she is already showing and hasnt been expelled yet, chances are that they are not going to.
