Do Any Living Outside The Indian Subcontinent Knows The What Is

Did Muslims and Hindus live in harmony on the Indian sub-continent before the British arrived?

I would say that Hindu-Muslim relationship was bad. The 1202 storm campaign of Muhammad Ghori resulted in the destruction of hundreds of Hindu temples. There is no doubt ( in spite of the efforts of secular historians) that Nalanda was destroyed by the Muslim invaders. The common Hindus were forced to pay Jizya tax. According to some estimates Muslims killed 80 million Hindus in their long 600 year rule. Their rule can be summed up by this quote:"If the revenue collector spits into a Hindu's mouth, the Hindu must open his mouth without hesitation"-- Qazi Mughisuddin legal officer of Sultan Alauddin Khilji(REF:ELLIOT and DOWSON, The History of India, as Told by Its Own Historians; The Muhammadan Period ( 1876-77)). There was also forced conversions of Hindus by Muslims. An infamous example of a forcible conversion attempt was Aurangzeb's attempt to convert Kashmiri Pundits to Islam in the 1670s. Kashmiri Pundits were saved by the Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur who was executed by Aurangzeb for defending the rights of non-Muslims to live in India. Another example would be 16th century Varanasi. Muslim clergy made it impossible for Hindus to live peacefully in Varanasi. Sri Madhusudan Saraswati met Akbar and told him of the plight of Hindus. Akbar told him that he should form  his own forces to resist the Muslim clergy. It is Akbar's advice that led to the birth of Naga Sannyasis. Will Durant, the famous historian  summed it up like this:    "The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex of order and freedom, culture and peace, can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within."Any other civilization would have been destroyed if they had suffered 80 million casualties.

Do Indians living abroad look down upon Indians from India?

I travelled to 7 countries and met a lot of Indians.Last year I and my friends planned a Europe trip and we started our journey in Rome, Italy. As a Matter of fact, City was raining with visitors from around the world. Every restaurant, the monument was full of people and all the agents were trying to sell the tour to as many as they could.Interesting thing was, A very few approached us for the tickets. Probably they assumed that Indians do not spend much money they decided to save the efforts or maybe they weren’t in the mood or need that day. Then an Indian girl approached us and told us about the guided tour they offer. We bought the tour and then were taken by a Guide afterwards. The scenario was almost the same in all the places except cities of Switzerland and Amsterdam. Being Indian is like a Privelldge in those places. We met several Indians. We ate Indian food multiple times and in this “No one gives a damn about Indians” were those moments when we would meet an Indian living there. Grocery shop owners, restaurant owners, Guided tour agents. They would literally have a spark on their face like they found a treasure.Especially if you find a middle age/old age person they would be even more excited and would try and talk to you in Hindi like they have been missing it for so long.So Indian abroad love meeting Indians from India. It helps them connect back to the homeland. They do have spoiled brats in Europe as they have here in India as well. People who find middle-class people disgusting. But those are like a rare species so nothing to be mentioned. If you are planning a visit, Be assured you will love meeting Indians. The Best About It Is When You Are In Other Country You Are Just Indian. Why do most people living in the UK hate people from the Indian Subcontinent?

This is certainly a new thing that I am reading here about Britishers hating Indian people. When I came to USA via London thru British Airways, I felt that London is a kind of second India as I stayed in London Airport for 4 hours, airport officials were very warm towards me, trying their level best to speak with my 3 year old son in Hindi & announcements were made in Hindi as well. All in all,  it was really an unforgettable experience to me. My sister went there for some official visit and had told me that how the Britishers(every one from vegetable vendors to official executives) were so warm towards her, and that there are some Indian dishes that has been now been included in their diet too. Now coming to the negative comments. People will treat you accordingly what you show them about yourself. You must learn--"Do as Romans do." Until people from our country does not learn to behave/dress/talk/manners as Britishers do, then such kind of negative comments would keep coming in.  If you behave well, people will give you respect, but if you don't or if you cheat, no one would give you respect. Right?  There are certain people in India who think that earn money by doing any kind of crappy things as someone already mentioned in his comment. So when more number of people from one country(say, A) goes out to other country(say, B) to do menial tasks just to earn more money there because doing the same tasks in own country would not give them more money(as they desire) and behaving lowly , then what do you think that how the people of country B would remember them? It is not that reputed professionals don't go outside India or the Britishers are not aware about it, but they may be less as compared to cab drivers/cleaners/servants, etc. It happens everywhere even in India too. People from Bihar goes out of Bihar to other state for every kind of work. In them, highly educated professionals like IITians, MBA, scholars are also there as well as worker class people too. But since worker class people are more in number and so when they behave badly or commit some kind of crime, then doesn't we disgust all of them as 'Bihari'. [Note: I don't want to offense people from Bihar, but I mentioned this to support my answer. I respect their attitude towards hard work and inclination of getting higher education as well as for their simplicity.]

Why is that the educated people from the Indian subcontinent would want to move out of the country and not really stay back and contribute in their own countries?

A lot of people who move out of india do contribute towards India. Many of us send back money and also invest in India. I have invested more money in India by living outside then while living within India. I have known many Nri friends who have brought properties in India, invested in Indian stocks, mutual funds, donated towards NGO based in India. We also travel quite frequently to India using Indian based airlines hence increasing the revenue for Indian airlines. By investing in India we also give taxes within India too. I believe, an average Nri contribute more towards India then an average Indian. Also I have encouraged a lot of my non Indians friends to visit India and I believe a lot of other Nri do the same, hence increasing tourism in India directly or indirectly. So don't underestimate the contribution of us Indians living outside.

A new indigineous indian tribe has been descovered in Brazil?

This new tribe has never been contacted by modern civilizations. My question is for the religious nuts: they'll never be baptized, never read a bible, never accept Jesus as their saviour, never be forgiven for thier sins, never recieve their last rights but not due to any fault of their own. They just happened to be born in the forest in Brazil and God knows this. He created them. Members of thier tribe are born and die everyday. Are they all going to hell? Doesn't make any sense. I think this is exactly the kind of anthropologic evidence that proves that western organized religion is just a secular social institution created by western societies for the benefit of those that live in the west. I realize that the dilusional will try to song and dance their way out of this question with things so unreasonable and ridiculous that a grade schooler wouldn't believe it but I'm still curious to hear them.
