If you are trying to lose weight what you can do is eat healthy food i.e. no fast food , oily food.The basic principle to lose weight is being in a calorie deficit which means eating less than your body requires. Does the potato fast for weight loss work?

I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. Will red potatoes make you gain weight?

If you are cutting out potatoes and only eating white foods, you might need to re-evaluate your diet. Man-made white foods have to be bleached and processed, which strips them of most of their nutrients. If you want to eat healthy like you are saying, go the other direction. Eat whole grains and try and stay away from anything processed.

As for potatoes, part of it is true, they will turn into sugar, but your body uses that for fuel rather than storing it. Potatoes are actually an amazing super-food that you can cut out everything else and eat just milk and potatoes (there's a white food diet for you) and survive for years. Any potato is good to eat. The only difference between the russet potatoes (usually baked or mashed) and red or golden potatoes (called smooth potatoes) is that the smooth potatoes have a higher sugar content to them. So it's not that your body won't turn it to sugar, it's just that there is less starch for your body to need to convert.

In summary, don't cut potatoes of any sort. And eat the whole thing, skin and all. They are great for you!

Why does a potato gain weight after being placed in salt water?

The previous observations also being with salt water? If so, then I'd say you just made a mistake somewhere in your weighing or something.

If the previous observations were fresh water, then I would say that salt water over fresh helps bring water in. For a similar concept, look at "brining" chicken and turkey. Brining is to soak it in salt water, and it helps draw water into the food.

So - difference between fresh and salt - similar to brining.
Just one experiment off of all salt water experiments, probably experimental error (if nothing else changed, e.g.: type of potato, rough age, density, weight, etc.)

Do boiled potatoes help in gaining weight? If yes, then which time should I eat?

If i cut out bread, pasta and potatoes will i lose weight?

Try alternatives; here i have a list of things you can eat to lose weight:

-try swapping Full Cream milk for Skim milk.
-try eat noodles that are low in carbs, so eat more vermacilini noodles rather than egg noodles
-swap white rice for brown rice, eventually you will get sick of the brown rice and stop eating it.
-try wholegrain pasta
-eat almonds, almonds help MELT body fat, especially the stomach fat
-drink a glass of water 30mins before each meal (it helps you get full and lose more weight)
-when you eat eggs, eat the white part of the egg (the orange part has more fat and calories)
-eating half a fruit before a meal helps you lose weight!!
-dont eat alot of potatos, potatos are high in carbs and will not help you lose weight
-avocardos had good fats, but dont eat too much or its harder to lose weight
-eating a carrot gets you full, and it gives you all the vitamin A you need for the day, and have only 30 calories!!
-eat more Oranges, they make your skin more healthier and clear
-apples help fill you up, so eat more of them.
-eating more water based foods are lower in calories (such as tomatos, watermelon, oranges, apples, peaches, apricots, cucumber, lemon)
-If you want something salty but healthy at the same time, then eat olives. They give you heaps of antioxidants.
