Do You Ever Get So Bored You Miss Your Teachers

Teachers, do you miss us as much as we miss you?

i would bet that you need a friend or two...you need to socialize with kids your age...your teacher must be the nicest person in the world, but trust me when i say she is not your friend! she is your instructor. there is a line there you don't cross. she would never tell you this, but i am sure she wishes you would see it. Send her a note letting her know how much you appreciated her time and talents...and say goodbye. She is an adult with her own friends. you need to find your own group...when you have your own best friend, you will quickly see what i am saying to you. You will have a very hard time finding that kid relationship when you are obsessing about a teacher.

As a teacher do you get bored teaching the same class every year?

An educator who is bored is likely to have bored students, so I hope it doesn't happen often.  As a history teacher, the content I teach each year does not change, but the "class" certainly varies, not only yearly, but on a daily basis.  Students learn in different ways, therefore each lesson plan has to be tailored to meet the needs of the students.  Accordingly, although I teach the same content to 5 periods of classes, no two classes are the same.  I have honors classes with many high achieving students and classes where students struggle due to learning disabilities or language issues.  It would be impossible to deliver the same instruction to such a diverse audience and expect positive results.

Do teachers miss their old students?

Being a teacher, I totally can vouch for all and say that we do miss our old students and this is because the bond between a teacher and student is no less than a parent and child. A set of parent may have one or two kids in most cases, but a teacher never has a single day where she does not give something of her mind , soul and heart to n number of students in abundance. In fact a teacher at times is more involved, engrossed in her school kids than her own. On the other hand the students too give immense, love, respect, obey and wait for the teacher . Let me also specify why we miss our old students , its like we get so engrossed in nurturing them, grooming them , knowing them, seeing them learning things that we don’t realize that slowly they are no more dependent on you for learning, they want to move out and experience work, love and live life , make us and their parents proud. Its like bird lings growing and leaving their nest empty behind.New students do come , make their own niche but old students are missed always.God Bless each of them.

How do I get over missing my former teacher?

When I was a teacher, there would always be students each year who were very special.  They would ask for help with personal problems, and I had to make some hard decisions about getting involved.  There has to be a certain standard of professionalism that must be maintained in a classroom.  In other words, in order to teach it was important that I had the respect of all of my students.  That meant that there were boundaries that could not be crossed.  I was never anyone's best "friend" but since many of my students came from dysfunctional family situations I did listen and offered support. I always tried to  come up with a solution. I think that your teacher realizes that you are still too involved with your relationship with her, and it is time to move on.  She is actually doing the right thing and it certainly does not mean that she does not care for you.  You are going to college and I believe that you are going to be so busy with academics and new friendships that you will gradually miss your teacher less and less.  You are apparently a great student and you will be pursuing a career that you will enjoy.   I think that this is a life lesson that there will always be people who will impact your life but may not be there all the time.  It does hurt and it may take some time for you to understand that this is all part of the process of growing up.

Teachers: Have you ever had a crush on your student? Why?*?

One of my teachers likes me currently. That because she is sort of young. She's pretty and funny. She's not going to act on it because it's inappropriate butt it still makes me feel kind of happy that she likes me. And I'm a pretty funny and outgoing guy.

Do teachers get bored when they teach the same course every year?

No, I Don't think so.I asked this question to my mom who is PGT and teaches Economics for Class XI and XII.She said she loves teaching, even if she teaches the same course every year. She believes interested students and their innovative questions keeps her on the go. She feels excited when students show interest and try to involve themselves to think out of the box. She appreciates them when they cite real life examples to the topics she teaches specially those of demand, supply and banking. She adopts different methodologies to teach students to help them understand better. Every year there is a new batch coming in, depending on their response in class she optimizes her teaching. :)

As a teacher, have you ever read a review on Rate My Teacher and immediately knew which student wrote it?

Thanks for the A2A.Yes. A few years ago, while teaching, I did have reason to check Rate My Teacher. On checking the site out I noticed several of my colleagues were listed, including myself. At first it did not seem anything more than a few boys, disgruntled and bored, with poor spelling and courtesy, who took it upon themselves to cast cheap remarks on highly qualified teachers. Instantly I knew the whole set-up was sensationalism and stupid. It was not necessary to have students rate a teacher. Whoever designed this crass set-up had their hands in your back pocket and out to get some leverage from students.Luckily I did not attract any adverse comments. I would have quit on the spot.Yes, I knew who the students who commented were and in hindsight not the creme-de-la-creme of students.Rate my Teacher is an obnoxious way to judge those people who put their time and effort to educate you. More so, students don't have enough common sense to make judgements on hard-working teachers, who spend their precious time and money to get you fit into this modern competitive world. I have not yet met a teacher who did not love his/her job. The money may not make them rich and famous but the dedication and discipline put into teaching zaps every calorie every 5 minutes to make this wonderful teacher share with you the knowledge they gained over years of practice. Why would any immature student even think of Rating a Teacher? Its best you look in the mirror and Rate yourself.Thanks.

Did you ever have a teacher hate you for no apparent reason, and how did you deal with it?

Oh yes - I had more than my fair share of teachers who really and obviously didn’t like me. Looking back on my schooldays, they probably found me arrogant and disrespectful. Probably also lazy, as I got mediocre grades - and (I was repeatedly told) could obviously do better.I sometimes wonder what would have been different if my rampant ADHS had been recognised back then. Understand that it’s not lenient treatment that I would have liked, but a little leeway to learn at my natural speed, which is in intense bursts. I’m a mental sprinter, not a marathon runner. I get bored too easily. When I was at school, medication for ADHS was non-existent. But it it were available and I had help like today, I wonder where I would have ended up. Perhaps I would have ended up studying medicine, like I wanted to back then.Perhaps those teachers who completely misunderstood my impulsiveness for arrogance would have lightened the fuck up and stopped actively treating me like an asshole and sending me for regular punishments for interrupting…How did I deal with it? Well, I learned early that once someone has decided that they hate you, it’s seldom worth the trouble to try to convince them otherwise. It’s just not an efficient use of time and effort, as it would require exorbitant amounts of effort to MAYBE get them to revisit their opinion. So basically - screw them. I guess it gave me a healthy level of self-confidence.So thanks, my chemistry teacher in England who thought I was retarded (and said so) and recommended withdrawing me from any exams in chemistry because I was evidently slow. I studied in my free time with another teacher (who had incidentally studied chemistry at the ETH in Zurich, a delightful, patient and funny lady). And I took the exams and got a B in chemistry. Screw you!I could go on and on, but honestly - it’s not worth it. School is a phase, and I was relieved when it was over.

I need some funny things to do to teachers?

Pretend you don't understand anything she's saying and start talking nonsense to her while making wild violent gestures. lol Stink bomb her desk. Make farting noises and ask her if she's the one doing it. Hit two chalked erasers together in front of her face so that she gets a full whiff of chalk dust. Tell her you're pregnant (put balloons in your stomach) and start vommitting (or pretending) all over the classroom. Remove your shoes and do an Irish style dance on the desk. Call her the most beautiful creature in the world and propose marriage. Good luck! Hahahaha

Teachers: Do you notice when your students are depressed?

Like do you ever notice cuts and think it's self harm or just an accident? What signs do you look at that tell you that might have problems or something? Would you ever talk to them about their personal problems? Also if I wanted to tell my favorite teacher, who is also Part of this group with me and other students (she said we could come and talk to her) , if I wanted to ask her about any of my depression or self harm like would she have to tell my parents or anything?
