Do You Prefer One Tire Brand Over Another

Where are these tire brands made?

I find all sorts of ads for tires in my car magazines but cannot seen to find where any of these are made. Can any one tell me where Hankook, Fuzion, Falken, Sunitomo, Yokohama, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Dunlop, Continental, Avon, Toyo, Nitto, Kunho, Michellin, BF Goodrich, and Firestone are made? I have heard that Goodyear, General, Cooper and Kelly are the only American made tires...is this true or where are they made?

What tire brand should I get?

I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla. I bought the car used before and it came with 4 new looking tires. But one of the tires got a flat and my mechanic said I needed a new one. The issue is, the tires were Warrior brand. I looked it up and it is some Michelin/Chinese made tire brand and I can't find more information about it. My mechanic said I should try to get tires of the same brand I was wondering if I should get a new set of 4 tires or find a tire close enough to what I have already. Any suggestions?

Does Tire Brand Really Matter?

Well... tire brands and prices are so varied that you really have to do your homework to get the best deal. There are premium manufacturers such as Goodyear , Michelin ,Sumitomo etc that actually sale the same tire under a different brand name. Same tire ...lower price. Its really a show and tell when all is paid and done. If you prefer to pay for the name you could choose that route as well. Depending on what passenger applications you use the tire for such as comfort, racing, track duty, or SUV, ask for pro and cons when considering your set of tires. It really doesn't matter to much to me if the tires looks nice , I would buy the Korean made Hankook in a heartbeat. Enjoy your new Altima :)

Is Hankook a good tire brand?

S,

Yes, Hankook is a good quality budget priced tire brand. However, their quality from model to model varies greatly. So please don't look at the brand alone, you have to look at the model. Hankook does offer top rated models such as the Optimo H727. That specific model would be a very good choice, other Hankook models are only average, at best Again, like all tire brands, some models are better than others. Go to tirerack.com, plug in your year, make and model of vehicle. Once you see how the tires in your needed size are rated you can then choose the best that Sears, or whomever you choose to buy from, has to offer.
