Do You Prefer The Cold Of The Usa Or The Heat Of Brazil

Why do some people prefer to be hot rather than cold, and some prefer to cold rather than hot?

I believe--fair warning, I'm not a medical doctor so this is all informal observation--that it might have something to do with a person's base metabolism.I'm skinny, have trouble gaining weight, and eat ALL THE TIME. I hate being cold. Seventy degrees Fahrenheit is the lower limit of what I find comfortable. Less then that makes me feel sluggish, unveiling to move or to think clearly. I crave more and more sweets and high-calorie food and I shiver all the time. I also have a condition called Reynaud's Syndrome, which causes my fingertips to turn white because all the capillaries slam shut and I get no blood flow. The higher the temperature the more comfortable I am. There's an upper limit, but as long as I have a reasonable amount of circulation I'm comfortable in the mid-nineties.

Do you prefer the heat or the cold?

Im living in South Australia and it is currently 45 degrees celcius (or 113 degrees farenheit) and its only 2pm! (hottest part of the day is yet to come!)
Ive been looking at the world weather map and it states that it got to as low as -4 degrees celcius in New york city (25 f). I want to move!! anyone wanna do a life swap for the season??

Also does anyone know of a populated city in the world that exceeds these tempratures? it might make me feel better :)

Do you prefer cold or hot weather?

Although I am more of a cold weather person, I prefer temperate climates with hot summers and cold winters.Right now, I live in Florida. Hot and humid weather year-round is the only weather I’ve ever known and I have only seen snow once and it was just flurries.I don’t have a problem warm weather but I would rather have it moderated to just the summer and spring instead of having it year long. Hot weather is good for a lot of outdoor activities like swimming and is good for plant growth. But if it’s too hot for too long, it gets tedious with the constant sweating and exhaustion. On the flipside, when it’s cold, I feel energy from within my body radiate out more and I just enjoy putting on layers of clothes as opposed to wearing less. When it’s cold, the outdoors just becomes more beautiful, especially up in hilly, forested areas. Although I’ve never really experienced snow, I’d imagine it to be beautiful lying everywhere and playing in it to be fun.I like a balance. Overall, I prefer cold weather more but I would also like some warm weather to moderate. Hence my preference of temperate climates over other climate zones.Something like this:

Why do some people prefer extreme cold to extreme heat?

I'm 26 and live in Perth, Western Australia. I have Scottish blood, and a fair complexion. I was born and raised in London, England until I moved to Australia when I was 14.

I f'ing HATE the summers here, and I DREAD when summer is around the corner. Every day it's 30 - 40 degrees and can even reach 45 and we've had no rain for 80 days..... I can't spend more than 30 minutes outside or I burn and 2 hours after you've taken a shower, you need to take another one.

I just came back from Wisconsin, USA. I was there during the Polar Vortex/Arctic Blast/Cold Front or whatever you wanna call it that broke records and made international news. I f'ing LOVED IT!

To experience that was a breath of fresh air, pardon the pun. I went for an hour-long walk every evening be it 1 celcius or -27 I didn't care, I just wrapped up warm. Didn't have to worry about sunburn or showering all the time because I hardly sweated at all. I went skiing, iceskating and had a great time. I felt BETTER in that climate, healthier and stronger. Can you explain this?

I'd love to move there but the USA would never accept me because I have no money or qualifications.

Do you prefer a hot or cold bedroom ?

I think cold bedroom is easier to deal with as you soon get warm under a warm duvet but it is difficult to cool down if you don't have a fan or AC and both of these dry the mucus membranes and make it stuffy as does too much heat in the room. So would have to say COLD bedroom but nice and warm bed.

Which is worse, cold weather or hot?

Some one tells Cold weather is better than Hot and quickly someone contradicts it says Hot weather is better any day.Cold climate is better than Hot climate -> The Case for Polar Vortexes—They're Better Than Extreme Heat - Matt Yglesias The contradiction ->Matt Yglesias is wrong: It’s way better to be hot than cold But, the reality is no one would actually prefer a 50*C or a -20*C climate. So, given a choice, I would prefer a 50*C climate because, its less cumbersome to stay alive and is more economical. All you need to do is ensure you have chilled water (or ice), so that you don't dehydrate or go into hyperthermia. But, -20*C is a real bad ass. You have to spend excessive money on clothing and making the home warm. Still, you can never mummify your face, so its gonna stay cold no matter what. In addition, your body kinda refuses to work well when its -20*C. So, every move you make is a struggle. IMO, 50*C will make you feel terribly uncomfortable, but you will live even with moderate income. But, -20*C will kill you if you have moderate income. If you have huge amounts of money, I guess, you will have no problem adapting to either climate.

Would you prefer to live in an extremely cold or extremely hot climate?

Extremely Hot or Extremely Cold ?I have lived in cold down to minus 35.4 F. Upward of 54.5C. heat.Canada and Australia. Both temperatures at these extremes need preparation and help to survive. The cold can remove skin from your fingers at minus 35. if you touch metal. You have to learn to change a tyre with gloves on, or loose all your finger prints.Every breath you take hurts. You can't feel your bottom. It's there, you are not able to feel it.Three pair of Sox are needed, thick woolen ones and thick boots. You need goose down or heavily insulated pants and jackets.Balaclava is useful if pure wool under your hood. Now I know what they are used for .The heat, at 55C you can die within an hour and a half without water and shade.A fit perfectly well guy from Mount Isa in Queensland, Australia, went hiking on his own one January summer day.He died only one kilometer from his camspite. The intense heat hit mid afternoon and he was out hiking with only a litre of water. He never made it back to the camp.Where I live now, it is cold but not below -11C in winter to 12 or 14C. Summer is 12 to 45C.Between these extremes, we have 4 seasons, this is the most important thing of all. Spring and Autumn, beautifully calm seasons were the heat of summer fades to the cold of winter. The cold of winter blooms to the glory of spring.Yesterday, Floriade, the largest tulip and flower festival in the southern hemisphere started in Canberra. Many millions of bulbs, hay fever guaranteed for a month. That's why I live here, the wheel of the seasons neither too hot nor too cold.

Which do you prefer: hot pizza or cold pizza?

Hot pizza, something just do not seem to taste right cold, and that is one of them, in my opinion, of course.

Do you prefer hot summers or cold winters?

Cold Winters !!

Our Summers are HELL without it hitting records !! Here in the California foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountians we don't see rain from late May through mid October... so there is severe wild-fire danger. Just yesterday I was watching them fight a 20 acre fire 4 miles down the road... there were a dozen similar fires in July !!

PRAYING for Rain and Winter !!

Would you rather endure the coldest cold or the hottest heat?

I’m assuming your question limits ‘coldest cold’ and ‘hottest heat’ to the temperatures that humans can withstand. And, we’ll say there are at least some protective measures in place to keep the humans in question relatively safe from the extreme conditions. And I will address emergency situations as well as just extreme heat or cold in general. I’ll base this on those assumptions.I can, and will, only speak for myself. Starting off, I’d like to say my favorite temperature is about 70° F with just a touch of humidity. I prefer to live in an area with many trees, and quite a bit of cloudy, rainy days.Having said that, I would personally prefer coldest cold. The first reason is, you can always put more clothing on when it is cold vs. taking clothing off when it is hot. If we can assume with the coldest-cold there is snow, you can dig a snow cave and protect yourself from the wind, which is actually more dangerous than snow in extreme cold. In a real-life situation like a power outage in a very cold situation, wood burning stoves are very effective, and you can obtain chemical heat packs to place in your clothing. Assuming a person is prepared, consuming more calories during very cold events is another way to stay warm. Now, on to “hottest heat”. This is, in my opinion, more dangerous. You can limit your clothing, but removing all clothing in extreme heat, (when you are exposed to the sun), can be deadly. You need protection from UV rays, thus, some sort of clothing. If you have no water, your body can become quickly dehydrated. If the humidity is high, they body cannot efficiently cool itself because sweat will not evaporate.Basically, I feel it is easier to effect precautionary measures and protect oneself from the coldest-cold than from the hottest-heat. In other words, I’d rather be in a very cold situation with adequate protection and supplies. Thanks for your question.
