Does This Sound Like A Brain Tumour So Worried Help

My mom took me to the doctor and we found out I need brain surgery to hopefully cure my epilepsy. They are going to be removing a large portion of my brain while I am awake. Should I be scared?

If it was true, it would be scary. But radical brain surgery of the sort you describe (removing an entire hemisphere, a procedure pioneered by Dr. Ben Carson) is done only on young children who have tons of brain plasticity. Plus, in the last month you've also posted:My 12 year old sister was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor a week ago and its grown since than and is now almost as big as half of her brain and she has been experiencing seizures and bleeding in her brain. SO scared of a brain tumor! Please help!!?

Ok, if you do have a tumor, the thyroid problem would mean its on your pituitary. Most people have pituitary tumors and don't even know it. They are almost always benign (not cancerous). If it is growing, that might be causing some of your problems (headaches, dizziness). Has the Dr. tested your cortisol? If that is low it would explain your dizziness and would point to a pituitary problem. At that point you would need a pituitary MRI. Its about the size of a pea so a CT would not show much. Don't worry yourself to death. It is treatable if this is what you have. Also, the tight muscles in your neck is probably caused by your headaches, or the other way around. If you are too stressed out you will get headaches. And headaches will stress you out also.

Im scared ive got a brain tumour at 19 HELP!?

about two weeks ago on a saturday, i began to feel lightheaded, i didnt really take much notice to it, then a couple of days later my left arm felt strange, i just dealt with it, it never really bothered me, i also started to feel nausious, mostly in the morning. it didnt really start worrying me until i was getting headaches, they normally occur in the evening and effect the back of my head near my neck and near my eyes these mostly occur late afternoon/evening, and the left side of my face sometimes feels strange to, not numb but feels different to the other. i
went to the doctors and he asked if id been vomiting or seeing any visuals and i said no, and he said i was fine, and that i didnt have anything serious, not a brain tumour.
but sometimes, maybe twice or three times a year i see tiny white dots/stars that move across my eyes, only for about 10 seconds, i failed to mention it to him because i couldnt remember the last time i had it, but i had it this morning and im so scared its something serious! :'(
i also sometimes forget things and panic when speaking and im
scared thats because ive got a tumour

other things to include is i am slightly a hypocondriact and recently thought i had colon cancer
i suffered depression last year and im
pretty sure ive got ocd because im constantly worrying and checking myself.

my mum told me to wait and see if these light spots occur again soon, she thinks im over reacting and so does my bf.

please reply!

Well, to cut a lond story short, heres some symptoms i've been having:
Headaches, Feeling sick, Waking up in the moring really aching mucsles, getting angry, neckpain, mucsles in my legs keep moving by themselves, my visions got worse.
It sounds so bad. I went to the eyedoctor about my vision and he looked in the back of my eyes and did some tests and my right eye is worse than my left and he did some tests to check my brain and he said he couldnt fing anything in the back of the eye. My doctors think its tension and panic attacks and may be due to sinus problems. Im 14.
Thanks.

Health anxiety and scared of brain tumor?

A brain tumor is usually inside your head so there aren't any lumps or swellings you can feel. The main predictor of a serious brain problem are fits, including loss of consciouness and evere and unusual vision or balance issues. You are suffering from anxiety. You are clenching your jaws (probably during sleep) and that is causing you headaches, neck and back pain. Poor quality sleep (and medication for anxiety) could cause brain fog. The lumps on your head could be a skin infection or a spot you have made sore by constantly poking and prodding at it. You don't have a brain tumor, you have too much time on your hands and are obsessing over ridiculous thoughts. You need counseling and some other activities to fill your time and occupy your brain so you don't go getting yourself all worked up for no reason. The chances of you even getting a brain tumor are less than that of being struck by lightening or killed in a car accident.

Brain tumor or hypochondria?

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I'm a 16 year old male, and I'm really worried (or obsessed) over having a brain tumor, so if anyone can enlighten me, please do.

Alright, it started off 7 weeks ago. I had a bout of constipation, and I googled about it. Among everything, I read about how brain tumors can cause constipations, which sparked me off. After a day reading that article, I felt weakness in my arms, as if I done too much workout, and my arms turned jelly. I got really worried, and googled it again... And read everything about brain tumor. This problem passed, and I became much more focus on my constipation problem (I believed that I had colon cancer until a week ago). 3 weeks after, I began having headaches and felt dizzy. I had this weird feeling that I was out of touch of the world, as if there was fog in my head. It went on for a week or so, before it subsided. I must also say that I had a common cold during that period, probably causing those symptoms. Yet, I felt very very sure that I had a brain tumor. Soon after, I went back to thinking I had colon cancer. Now, 4 days ago, I begun having neck aches, which translated to mild earaches. I read about Craig Shergold, a kid who had brain cancer, and apparently, he had earaches as a symptom of brain tumor. My earaches got a bit worst, and I felt unexplained pressure in my ears. 2 days ago, I begun having headaches, though the pressure in my ears were gone. I can't really seem to put my finger on it, whether it is headache or earache, but whatever it is, it convinces me even further that I've got a brain tumor. So today, I've found a lump at the back of my head. It's at the base of the skull, and seemed weird...

My question is, am I being stupid, or do i really have brain tumor?? Please help, please! Thanks in advance!

Scared, sinuses/anxiety fear, or brain tumor?

Your headaches sound like sinus headaches especially if they travel from side to side.
Your ear ringing could be from sinuses or if you take a lot if Aleve; Advil; Tylenol; aspirin.
It does NOt sound like any red flag symptoms...just make sure you stay hydrated.

If the floaters bother you see a ophthalmologist. They are usually nothing.

It's interesting that when you were out with friends not focusing on yourself you felt fine, but when alone you obsess about all your different fears of symptoms.

What made you stop seeing the psychologist? You would probably be helped with some medication with a consultation with a psychiatrist to ease your obsessing.

If you didn't like the psychologist try another or a consult with a professional social worker. I think you could be helped very much by cognitive/behavioral therapy & learning how to tolerate your fears better.

Practice doing deep breathing: Inhake thru your nose; exhale thru your mouth; rest...each for a count of 3. Practice for about 5 minutes at a time when you are less nervous...that way you can do it naturally when you get very nervous & fearful.

Thought Stopping: Command yourself to stop what you are thinking & think about the present moment & concentrate on your breathe.

You CAN change!!!

My best to you
