Electrician Business Name Any Ideas

How do i get names for my new business idea?

The naming of your business could be one of the most important decisions you will make. A name's originality and legal availability will create a real asset value of its own, as it becomes marketed and gains market acceptance.

The name you choose will become the focal point of all the benefits and features that relate to your product or business. Customers will be able to find and refer others to it in the future.

Established products or businesses realize the value of customer good will. A well chosen name will provide an extra marketing advantage, that may mean the difference between failure and success.

Companies go to great lengths to trademark and protect the usage of their name.

Brainstorming Tips for Creating a Name:

Any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party and/or may be trademarked so I wanted to go a different route...

Here's a few things to keep in mind:

1) Keep your industry, your clients/customers, your advertising plan in mind.

2) The more unique & distinctive a name, the higher the chances that the name is legally available for use. And the higher the chances of obtaining the trademark.

3) Think of your business as having a personality. What kind of image do you want your business to portray?

Specific brainstorming tips:

Think about what you want but more importantly, think about what you DON'T want. If you don't want a 3-word name, don't bother with those. If you don't want non-English words, don't bother with those & so on and so forth.

What are the "types" of names you like? Think about words in their simple forms, e.g. adjectives, Latin roots, mythological names, etc. Compile a listing of the types & then seek out resources, such as books or sites, which specialize in those types.

Here are some links where you can do some preliminary name checking:

http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/index.js... – Click Search Marks: USPTO – Preliminary Search of Federal trademarks
http://www.statelocalgov.net/50states-se... --Go to your state's Secretary of State page to see if they have a searchable database of business names
http://www.hoovers.com/free/
http://www.thomasnet.com – Must register (free) to search their database
http://www.nameboy.com – Domain name search
http://yellowpages.superpages.com/yp.advanced.jsp?STYPE=AD – National yellow pages; leave location blank to search nationwide

However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what's out there.

Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free & a great place to start, so I'd try them out first. This entails searching the pending & registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Electrician?! Please?!?

How much do you make as an electrician? $$?

At this point in my life, I'm taking schooling for my Pre-apprenticeship, and I'm just wondering how much you all make per hour; as Journeymen, first year-fourth year apprentices, and where do you work; Residential, Commercial, Industrial.

What do electrician's do ?

Where, in a home or in a business? If a light has failed they may check the function of a switch, breaker (AFCI or not), check connections in a receptacle that may feed the light, if the fixture has ballast they may replace it, or recommend a newer more efficient fixture. If the fixture is recessed he may consider whether it is in contact with insulation and if the fixture is rated for it. May consider if it is outdoor or wet location rated. He might consider if it has the right type of lamp in it.

Or are you asking what we do in general? In the last week I replaced a motor starter and reprogrammed some transmitters for power monitoring. I examined some 70W LED fixtures and determined the drivers had failed. I located a tripped fuse for a conveyor warning horn at a large shipping company. I replaced failed exit signs and replaced some battery backup units in some fluorescent fixtures. I replaced some lamps in a pole light. Last summer I connected new boilers and fan boxes, and backbone structure for in a couple of schools. I am scheduled to connect a wind turbine next week.

Is that what your looking for?

Looking for a catchy name for my electrical business.?

I need a name for my electrical business. Need something "catchy" and preferably (but not necessary) starting with an "A" so that it will be the first on the list when someone looks up electricians. My initials are JWE.
